It is a long story....but the stomach bug is going around in our area... can I still purchase travel insurance? should I just not worry? We leave Thurs. Nov. 20th!! Advice please:confused3  :scared: :sad1: :sad2:

Try not to worry, and frequent handwashing always helps. During flu season, this is always good advice. Have a magical trip, and congratulations on the end of your treatment!

Congrats on finishing your treatment and your upcoming trip. Since it may be too late for travel insurance you may want to check with your doctor and see if you can get a prophylactic prescription for some Lomotil and Zofran in case someone is stricken while you are there.

I get the same way about any of our Disney trips. We also leave on the 20th. Let's see...I am recovering from shingles and a bad cold that went into bronchitis, my dd from bronchitis too, my one son from a sinus infection (still on antibiotics), but my dh and youngest are still fine. I get very nervous when we go in Nov. and Jan. because it always seems someone has something. SO LET'S JUST THINK POSITIVE. Wash those hands, use a lot of hand sanitizer too. Congrats on completing your treatment too. Have fun.

Hi, Congrats too on your long road. One of my best friends just finished chemo and radiation for breast cancer. Best of luck!

Onto your question. I was faced with a similiar issue last fall. I work in a daycare center and there was a chicken pox outbreak and I, as a 44 year old had never had them. I got the booster, although the dr warned it could complicate the virus if had it and hoped for the best.

I also got a prescription for an antiviral just in case and got info on dr's and hospitals in the area just in case i needed them.

As other posters have said STAY POSITIVE. I had no problems at all and had a great trip!

Wash you hands a lot and never touch anything inside a restroom after washing your hands to prevent norovirus (stomach flu).
On the bright side, if you do get sick you'll be in a bad way for about two days. Can you think of a nicer place to recover?

Thanks for all the positive :flower3: thought! But, they (inlaws) just won't go away!! I have been really nice by not saying anything, but in the meantime I am about to have a heartattack over this...:scared1: If we get this virus and aren't able to go to WDW next week...I will NEVER :furious:speak to them again.:crazy2:
