We've tried to find a ready-made frame that's a good fit, but we haven't been successful. DH suggested I ask here. We have 2, and I don't want them to just get lost in my clutter!

What have you done with your picture? Any suggestions on buying a resonably priced frame?

Thank you for your help.

Bobbi:D

We bit the bullet and had them custom-framed. Look great, but it does hit the pocketbook kinda hard, LOL!! Keep your eyes open, sometimes places that do framing (like Michael's) have 50% off coupons in the Sunday papers.

We also used "Michaels" with a 50% off coupon. When you think of it.......what is $50 when you spend $12,000-$20,000 for DVC.;)

Wow, I am glad I am not the only one who framed and hung our home resort pictures! I just hung mine in my bedroom a couple weeks ago. When my DH got home and saw them he declared me a "disney geek". :p I can live with that!

Mine for BWV is at Michaels' right now. I used the 50% off coupon. When SSR gets a print, I'll have that one too. I will hang them in my home office and just gaze longingly at them between trips.

Disneygeek!!!

I like that, maybe I can get my DW to call me that!

Hmmm.....Honey, maybe we should go again other than in Nov and Jan and Feb over the next 12 months...what do you think?

Thanks
jaysue

Even though I know I shouldn't have, I bought a mat to fit inside the frame which covers up the little embossed monogram toward the bottom of the print and removed the original mat. This allowed me to put it in a standard sized frame. It does look wonderful, though.

Wow, so many replies and so fast. Thank you. I scanned the coupon books that come to the house and will check out tomorrow's flyer for a Michael's coupon. It will get done, and ours will go right here over the computer, so we both can dream Disney dreams while waiting for things to download.

Jaysue, 3 trips in 4 months, that's mighty nice. :D I guess it gets cold in Ontario. Our next trip is for Halloween, DH, DS and Dear Mom who is 83, and ready for the MNSSHP!

WE had our VB and HHI litho framed with the original mattes. Fairly expensive. However, WE also own at BWV and don't have a litho of it.

Does anyone have an extra they'd like to sell?

The next time you are in WDW just go over to the General Store at the Boardwalk. They have all sizes and prints of the BWV's.;)

THIS IS SO FUNNY !!!!

back in late june i had bought a frame from kohls for for my fil for a family picture , well we never got a chance for the family photo and everyone from out of state went back home. well i have been moving this frame from one end to another, until now, i opened the box and unwrapped the BCV resort that we got when we bought into dvc and to my surprise it fit like a glove, i couldnt believe it, and the best part i got the frame at a great price, im going back tomorrow to see if i can get more, i have 4 pictures, just neeb the BWV & OKWV , oh and the new SSR, to complete my collection to hang them in my kitchen.

here is the info on the box for the frame: kohls , name of the frame Rare woods, perspectives-natural, size for 8x10 with matt , for vertical or horizontal photo

www.burnesofboston.com this website address was on the back of the box, ill have to check it out.

i took the matt that came with the frame out and kept my matt that came with the BCV print.

i was just going to post abot the frame when i seen there was a post already:sunny:

i should add one more thing, the fram is a natural wood color and a very thin frame going around the sides, not a thick or bulky frame at all.:sunny:

I bought one of those floating frames from Pier One and it worked great. I don't remember what the exact size was, but I think it was the biggest one they carry. I think it was around $15. The website doesn't have it anymore, bought you might check in the store. It's a tad wider than the litho, but since the back is glass, you just see the wall where the gaps are which is how it's supposed to look. It would be better if the re was space around the top and bottom too, but for $15 I'm fine with it.

I happen to own a moderately priced matting cutter (probably cost me about $18, I think, a few yrs back). It has served me well in cases such as these. I got a discounted frame at a craft store that was plenty big enough; I then bought a contrasting mat color and cut the mat such that the print is fully displayed -- even cut out the mat so it too would show the little embossed area. It looks great with its double matting in complimenting/contrast colors, and the matboard was all of a buck or 2, and the frame was about $10. Not too bad. I also used my mat cutter to cut mats and then frame a map from every park -- we have these hanging in our basement/playroom.

If you look around, I agree w/ wdwstar -- you can prbably find just the right sized frame. Don't forget to look at frames that have pictures in them -- I got an awesome all-wood solid construction 16X20 frame for $8. It was on a clearance rack because it had a very tacky print inside of it -- realllly tacky. Out with the tacky, in with my 16X20, and voila -- a masterpiece for nuttin.

I found a very pretty frame at garden Ridge that fit the look of the BCV print nicely. I though I had the right size, but came home to discover thsi print was an odd size and disn't fit by the tiniest bit! :(
(I wonder why they've made these prints such odd sizes?)
Anywa, my hubby took a razor balde and carefully trimmed it, you cna't tell at all and the emboss DVc thing is still on the bottom. He even did a nice job getting it centered correctly. It looks like it was done professionally.
Now that we added on at BCV again we got another BCV print that I've stored away. I won't cut that one, up!

That's exactly what I did. I bought a frame at Target and trimmed down the mat from the DVC pic. The size of the picture was between the two standard sizes. I couldn't decide whether to buy the larger one and try to re-mat or buy the smaller one and trim. I decided to buy the smaller one and trim and it looks great! I can still see the embossed logo and it only cost me about $10.

I had a problem with finding a frame also. At the craft stores (I went to A.J. Moore) they have frames that come in pairs for each side of the picture, in increasing sizes of 1"(in brass, silver, black and white colors) The picture (mat) is 8" by 13" I think, so I bought 2 of the 8" side and 2 of the 13" side. They clip together quite easily. Then the Hardware store cut a piece of glass to fit the frame. It took me about 10 minutes to put it together and the whole thing cost less than $20.
I hung the picture, which now looks like it was professionally framed over my workspace, so that when I'm bogged down with my responsibilities, I can glance up and have a quick "mental vacation".:smooth:

You should check your mail or go to www.valpak.com because we received a coupon in the mail for a local frame shop which had 11x14 custom frames for only $22.95 with over 100 designs and styles to choose from. Annmarie

If you have a Jo-Ann's near you, check their ad in today's (Sunday) paper. There's a coupon for 50% off a total custom framing order. :)
