Port Orleans Comes Back To Life!
According to local news report based on strong guest demand, Port Orleans French Quarter has begun allowing guests to book rooms for arrivals on or after May 31, 2002. Disney will have the resort reopened and at full steam at that time with all resort facilities and amenities open. Another pleasant surprise is that the food court has apparently been rehabbed during the resorts "time off".

This is good news. I always liked FQ.
We just got back today from WDW. We drove past the entrance to FQ several times. The driveway is currently blocked with a large concrete planter with a hedge growing in it. We were staying at OKW and rented a pontoon boat one day for a little ride up an down the river. FQ's pool looked the smae as always - in fact the little water fall on the one side was flowing and you could see water coming down the water slide. The grass areas and gardens that could be seen from the "river" looked well tended with a lot of flowers blooming. There were a few CMs driving golf cart type vehicles that we could see, but no one else there at all. It looked really strange to see it looking so normal, but with no people.

That is indeed good news. I was so disappointed that I couldn't stay at that resort over the Christmas holidays.

I am glad to read this good news. POFQ is one of our favorite WDW resorts.
