FP's being compared to Park Ticket on Re-entry?

Tickets have to be "activated" for the day to get a FP right? It's been a while since I've used them.

My initial thought was that maybe they are just scanning tickets to make sure someone entered the park with it, but then I remembered that you probably can't even get a FP to begin with if the ticket did not have an entry for that day.

Correct, you need to have entered the park that day and had your ticket scanned at the gate in order to get a FP.

Partially correct.

You have to have scanned your ticket at either park in order to get FP's at either park that day.
So, you could enter DL and then send one runner from your group with everyone's tickets over to DCA to grab FP's for everyone; and it's OK...because your ticket(s) were scanned at the gate for DL.
They would not need to be scanned at DCA entry in order to get FP's over there and vice versa (same day, of course!).

Correct, sorry I wasn't more specific

I just got back from a four-day trip today. Was never asked for my park ticket in addition to my FPs.
