FPing parades and fireworks. Worth it?

Wondering if it's worth it or not. Is it a wasted fast pass? We've been skipping the parades and fireworks because we just don't like the idea of setting up camp 1-2hrs before to get a decent spot. Thinking having a roped off section via FP would fix this.

I think Wishes is a bit of a waste, but the parades are not. All depends on you. See the green link in my signature.

I found Illuminations to be a waste of a FP (no better of a viewing area than anywhere else around the water), but Fantasmic FP was definitely worth it. Good seating section and I didn't have to worry about getting there hours early.

If you've tried it for the Main Street electrical parade (pp or others) how long prior to the parade do you need to show up? Is there a magic band machine at the hub and a fp return line? How is the viewing?

When did you go, if I may ask?

The end of September 2013. At that time, Fantasmic may have not been as much of a rush as it can be during peak months (seemed plenty busy to me), but I liked knowing we had it reserved!

It has since changed to open seating, with no reserved area. Almost every report since October has said that the Fantasmic FP is no longer "worth it".

Darn. :( Glad you told me, or I might have used an FP on it again for a potential trip in June.

Really? I got the package for lunch at Mamas melrose should I cancel it? I didn't want to do a big lunch like that I did it just for the Fantasmic show.

I try to keep info like this updated in the green link in my signature. When you went, Fantasmic was an A choice, now it's a C.

You have the dining package, not FP. Completely different thing. You're good to go. :thumbsup2

DH and I were in Disney last week for a quick couple trip. We took our time and really did not worry about doing a lot of attractions. We gave up a MK FP+ for a FP+ for Wishes. I really doubted it but why not try?

As it turned out we thought it was great. We were directed to the Rose Garden area outside of Cosmic Rays. It is all grass and surrounded by fencing. There were CM's directing us on where to enter and were to sit. Everyone sat, there was no standing. This actually made the viewing very good. The angle is not centered on the castle so the fireworks do not line up well but Tink flew right over head.

We felt it was worth it for us. It was nice to put a rain poncho on the ground and sit down to watch the fireworks.

We did it on Monday and unless you are the very first person in the FP+ line there are bushes that block everything so you are going to stand for the whole thing. We were the second family in an we immediately went far left. They had the rounded off part roped off. Someone said due to wind. We could sit for the whole performance. DH an DD could see the Globe. Other DD and I couldn't see it. It was blocked by the bushes. I could have stood up and saw it but I wasn't too worried about it. We were in line by 7:30. They started letting people in by 8:30. I feel like we could have staked out just as great or even better a spot arriving at 7:30.

Sending you a"cyberhug" Robo!! Have been trying to figure out where the FP+ area is for the new "Fantasy" parade at MK. After seeing this I think it may be worth it for next Sunday!

I'm assuming from the fact that you mentioned the globe that you're talking about IllumiNations; mesaboy was talking about Fantasmic.

So for the mk parades (thanks for the map robo), how many people do they cram in there? Could we still be ten people deep from curb? How early do they suggest showing up?
