FP+... who hates it

i would not have even posted my opinion about my definition of abusers but someone asked me a direct question about it so i answered.
i don't mind the difference of opinion.
i mind that some tore my answer to shreds just because it did not follow suit with their opinion.
No one "tore your answer to shreds". When you paint everyone that liked legacy fp as an "abuser" and "hoarder", expect to be challenged.

That looks like the kiosk location in FW at Epcot. They can be pretty hard to find and by 6pm in the evening I'm guessing most people have figured out what's left and what isn't.
That was my point. ;)

I love the fact that I can lounge by the pool knowing that I have FP+ for the rides I want in the park I am going to that evening. FP- forced you to do a rope drop at every park, I no longer have to do that. I can plan FP+ at Epcot on the evenings we are planning to be there for dinner. Awesome.

Last year we were there over a very busy spring break week. We were at AK at rope drop and rode Everest 4 times (3 standby, 1 FP) with no wait. You can ride your favorites multiple times with some planning.

Or we could look at the HS Kiosk by ToT our last trip ... This was about 10:30 in the morning.

You can see it went right to the RnRC area entrance.

Took about 20 or 25 mins to reach the kiosks

And of course, there was nothing "Good" available .... "Limited" means gone, though some might appear if people cancel/miss them :P

I wonder how many of these guests are still getting their first 3 of the day.

No doubt that due to limited attractions at DHS, that the ones showing limited have been mostly taken by those who were able and chose to pre-book FP+.

I am surprised that such a line "only" took 25 minutes. Visually it looks like it would take longer.

actually minnie mum did and i believe her answer was removed but i quoted it in response to her so you can feel free to go back and find it.

and here we go misquoting me again.
where did i ever say that "everyone that liked legacy fastpass was an abuser"?

I just reread your post. Now I realize you also inferred that people who used their fp's past their window were also "dishonest". Honestly? How do you expect people to react to that? :confused3

There's nothing wrong with the system it's simple and easy to use and leaves plenty of room to plan and make use of your time.

Best of all it's completely optional you don't have to use it.

We both love it - easy, convenient, and simple.

My opinion...it is only simple to use if you are in the know...I had a friend who was planning her FPs and got uber frustrated with what WDW was giving her, it was not what she wanted. She called me and I told her how she should accept and then go in and change, if she hadnt called me she would have not known. I dont understand why they make it so complicated. In my opinion I think a drop down menu, listing times and how many in that time slot would be much more easy to use.

Now we also struggled with ease of change during Christmas week, we wanted to change some options to later in the day when we all were suffering from head colds. DS17 could not get it to change experience or cancel. We had to just let them go and expire. And one day he could change the option, he did nothing different than the previous day this day it just let him, and frankly there was nothing available. So I have concluded that liking/disliking FP+ can also be affected by time of year and glitchiness of the system. There other times the system worked fine for us. And we have used it before and it worked fine. Christmas week was not a time where we could change things around.

The Epcot kiosk in the picture looked like that on NYE when CMs would not let you go over to the kiosks bc all FPs were gone for the day at 2pm. Now I know this was NYE so not a typical park day but I think pictures can be misleading. Is it an empty kiosk that one can just stroll up to or is it empty bc frankly it serves no purpose anymore for the day. I hope that makes sense

I don't see a post from minnie mum to you other than asking you to define abuse. Your words and intent were clear.

It's amazing how some pics are totally accurate from some posters and not even scrutinized in the least, and some of us have to be making it up.

This is in MK-I realize you have to "notice" there is nobody behind me, but even then look at what was available. Why would it be so hard to believe that the kiosk lines at EPCOT (or anywhere) where very low?

Furthermore-I am showing how it was "that week", not saying other weeks/days are not much busier and they should be.

Some people on here travel less busy weeks and may want that information.

This was available at EPCOT "after" riding Soarin and TT, I will see if I have a pic of the no line there was for it, but there was no line for it-but even then-wouldn't a line be worth it?

The kiosk lines were minimal first week of March if interested.

And what selections did you have available at 6:00 p.m.? What was the return time? How many were in your party? When we were there in December, the kiosk lines were short in the evening because there was nothing all that beneficial left to get from them.

I love the FP+ system, but then again I'm a micromanager. I picked all of our fast passes out this morning for our trip on memorial day weekend. It was super easy because we had a couple dining reservations so we knew which park we'd be in. I love pre-planning for a vacation that's costing me well over $2000. It's better than getting there and standing around saying, "What do you wanna do today?" "Doesn't matter to me, what do you wanna do?" That could just be because I travel with indecisive people though :P.

However I fully agree that first time park visitors will probably have a hard time with the system. It's easy for me cause I know all the rides I like and which ones have long lines. However even before FP+, you still needed to plan/learn how to get and use fast passes.

Wait..I'm confused. Your first pic is from March 3rd at 6:00 p.m., but these screen shots you're showing from the kiosks are for FP+s on March 8th. I thought you were saying there was plenty of same-day availability when you were there?

ETA: OK, I see the March 6th pics are for same day...again, how many people in your party?

Okay, I am pretty much speechless at this point. All I can do is shake my head. Thanks for the 'coming attraction' !
