Hello, from a purely convenience standpoint , is there much of a difference? I know package has reserved seating but does it save you any time or hassle over just getting a fast pass ?

The Fantasmic! dining package has reserved seating right in the middle of the stadium. I thought it was a great place. I believe the FP+ seats are off-center, maybe on the left side (I am not entirely sure). Hopefully someone who sat in the FP+ seats will reply to your post.

When did that change? It used to be over to the side.

I think it's about the same, except some people may argue that the dining guests get slightly better seats. If you're on the DDP I'd probably do the dining package, but otherwise FP+ works fine, and I wouldn't even book it until a forth choice and use your first 1st priority for a ride.

Agreed, it worked out well for us using the the DDP. I probably would never had tried Mama Melrose without the DDP lunch FP combo.

Dining Package guests sit in the two center sections. The left sections are reserved for FP and the right sections are for Standby/walk-in guests. This changed when FP+ began so that Dining would still be better than FP.

I chose the Fantasmic dining package because I thought it was so reasonably priced, and because those are the best seats (right in the center, though there aren't really any "bad" seats for Fantasmic). This is just my personal preference, but I think it's better to use fastpasses on rides that have long lines so that you can make better use of your time in the park. When you only have a limited number of fastpasses per day you have to use them wisely and prioritize!

We go during the VERY busy Holiday season, and utilize the dining packages to secure an event every chance we can. The "bundling" is a great advantage and leaves the FP for other things. Nothing beats knowing you have:thumbsup2 a reserved seat.

I was there this week. We used our 3 fp plus and they had fantasmic fp so we got one. The seating was about the same for fp plus or dine package.
