FP+ is amazing

This just in: enjoyment of anything is very subjective. Usefulness is something else entirely. I think I have attempted to distinguish between the two all thread long. I said in Post #2 that I am glad the OP liked FP+ and I genuinely mean it. But call me crazy, I don't think the use of FP on Figment is the source of the awesomeness.

That is your opinion though. I think the purpose Disney said of Fastpass+ was to enhance guest experience. If it did that for the OP then it was a success.

Your definition is different, neither of you are wrong.

No where in the OP does it say FP+ is better than what was before...they just said it was awesome. They also said they can understand why it isn't perfect and might not work for some.

And that's great for the OP. I was responding to the PP that said s/he didn't understand why some people get pleasure out of questioning something that made someone happy. I was trying to offer a different viewpoint rather than suggesting people that are questioning are getting some type of pleasure. I don't see those questions as trying to get pleasure.

But how is an experience enhanced if the exact same thing can be done without FP+? (The Nemo/Figment experience, not the TT one)

THIS is exactly my question. How can it be an enhancement if it could have been done before.

On the flip side, I totally think FP+ for arrival day is the bomb. Walking into HS at 4pm and being able to walk right on TSM is pretty darn cool. Definitely an enhancement in my book. However, I would gladly give up this enhancement to have FP- the rest of my trip.

There is absolutely no way to know that on the day the OP used his/her Fastpass+ Nemo and Figment that there was absolutely NO wait, none, nada, zip, walk right on.

Even a 10 minute wait is time saved.

If the OP wanted to book in advance two attractions that she/he enjoys and know that they could go right on in, then to them it is a success.

One of my favorite uses of Fastpass+ was parades and fireworks, which some have said is a ridiculous waste. I completely and totally disagree.

I also said in Post #13 that using it there was not wrong.

So saving a combined 10 minutes if that between 2 rides (most of it probably being the walk through the Nemo queue) makes FP+ amazing?

I agree with those who say that a FP+ for Imagination is a waste of a FP+. However if the OP and others want that then who am I to judge? The OP has to expect people to disagree or otherwise comment though since this is a discussion forum.

It could to someone, the point is, no one has the right to decide what is awesome for someone else and say their opinion is not valid.

If you don't want to use your Fastpass+ on certain rides that is your right, just as it is for someone else to use it on their choices and feel that choice is awesome to them.

Basically the OP posted Fastpass+ was awesome, stated why it was awesome to him or her, and others came in and tried their best to discredit their statement.

I have been going to Epcot since it opened and there are many times the wait for both those rides is much more than 5 minutes and that is fact not opinion.

So should those on a discussion forum not reply to the post? Or should only those who agree?

Maybe the problem is that some of us see the purpose of a discussion forum differently.

As I often do with you, I agree completely.

I couldn't agree more. Seems like to you can't share any opinion here without it being picked apart.

Maybe someone has already said this, I only got up to post #86...

Ok, let's see if I can explain it this way. I don't think anyone cares how the OP spent their day, what rides they rode...I'm sure everyone feels like me...they are happy that someone was happy with their day at Disney. That's great. I don't care if she saw figment 5 times, have at it!! Woot for them! :thumbsup2

And please take no offense Op(because really, truly, everyone should do what they want at Disney!), but if what was posted was, "Back from Disney, Rode TT, figment and Nemo and had a great relaxing time at the parks!!"...probably everyone posting would say, Hey, that's great. So glad you had a good time. :hippie: Those kinds of posts would be the vast majority.

But....they didn't post that. They posted, "FP is amazing because I got to ride TT, figment and Nemo"..... Can we not see the difference?? :confused3

When I tour epcot I bypass Soarin completely. The ride does nothing for me and I find it boring. So having TT or Soarin is completely fine with me since I'd rather do Figment then Soarin!

Why does everyone HAVE to do TT and Soarin? (And if they don't they are scoffed at)Why can't people just do what they want to do and be happy they did it? Why does everyone have to use Fastpasses to be happy?

Also people could just bypass FP+ entirely and still do a fun day without it. Many people bypassed the old system entirely before. I knew I was one of those people who pulled 1-2 fast passes per day and maybe used one of them. I loved Disney no matter what, the number of rides I rode or the number of lines I waited in had no impact on my day.

That is SOOO great for you! I think a lot of people are like you. For the record, I scoff at no one and their choice of rides. I could give a flutin' fig. Everyone could ride Nemo all day for all I care, if fact, I wish they would!

Why does my family want to do Soarin' AND TT? Because we want to. Same reason I want a Dole whip float. I just want to. It's enjoyable. We love them. I have to apologize now because my family wants to ride the incredible attractions that Disney's imagineers created without standing in line for an hour? You're...you're kidding, right?

You may have missed the point. Figment is awesome! It really is. As I said earlier I couldn't imagine a day in Epcot that didn't include a trip through the Imagination! But it does not require a FP anymore than the treehouse at MK does...it is ALWAYS a walk-on (with the exception of the most crowded days/holidays). I don't care what anyone says...the ride never has more than a 5-10 minute wait. I don't know why anyone would waste a FP on an AWESOME ride (remember I love it) that never has a line? If Soarin' was always a walk-on I wouldn't waste a FP+ reservation on it either! Save that for something that needs it.

Now, IF one is saying that we picked a Figment/Nemo FP+ because we weren't interested in anything else offered or it was the only attraction left that is also FINE. But to say that FP+ is "amazing" because we got to use it for two walk-on rides?

That's some fuzzy logic right there.

Me: "I love this new Fast Pass thing! Because of it, today I was able to:
  • Order the fried chicken at 50's Prime Time
  • Buy a Mickey balloon
  • Ride the monorail
  • Catch an Off Kilter concert and
  • Ride Journey Into Imagination without a wait!
It was an absolutely magical day!!"

My Friend: "Uhhh. Fast Pass had nothing to do with any of that. All of those things were possible with or without Fast Pass."

Me: "Dude. Don't harsh my mellow!"

Even tho I'm generally pro-FP+, This was hilarious... :thumbsup2

Funny, but also absolutely accurate. This is all about causation.

Thanks for this. I think you demonstrated the point better than any of the rest of us. :thumbsup2
