FP + in the future

They don't bat 1.000. Luminaria was another bust. But, they are pretty close. For every failure one can name, one can also come up with many successes.

But, you are right. They are not perfect. So, like I said, time will tell. But, I'm betting on #2, and I like my odds.

I'm with you on that. They aren't perfect, but they aren't stupid, either.

That's why many of us are curious how this is going to play out. Our comments and opinions are not a dislike or hatred or any of the stereotypical branding that some have thrown out there - we are just simply curious to see how Disney decides to take a limited resource (popular attractions) and accommodate seemingly unlimited demand while satisfying the majority.

Because they don't have to please everybody - just most of us. And even then, the most of us that spend the most money. MM+ helps them identify who we are; FP+ may prove to be a tool to do that.

Like I said, it's an extremely interesting exercise to watch, no matter what side of the fence you are on.

This, exactly.

And, while I don't have any direct data to support it, I also suspect that DISers, by and large, are not representative of the average guest. So, our reaction to this scheme is not likely to be the "average" reaction.

I'm not going to lie: I will miss the days of "life-hacking" the FP system, because we rode things over and over without ever waiting, and that was great. But, I also am realistic about our new MM+ overlords and what it probably means for the future.

My guess is the that it will look like this: - Pre-booking (60 days in advance) FP+ will be limited to onsite guests and AP holders - You will only get to pre-book 3 FP+ in advance each day - You will be able to get more day of (no more than 3 at one time) - Pre-booking will be limited to one park at a time - Day of FP+ will NOT be limited to one park at a time but you will still be limited to only 3 at one time. - Tiers will be in effect for pre-booking...but not for day of reservations - You can ride an attraction more than once with FP+ but you can only have one FP+ reservation at a time for an attraction. What I wish (but don't think will happen): - FP+ kiosks would replace all current FP kiosks and getting day of FP+ would work exactly like current FP where you go there with your RFID ticket, tap it to the screen, and get a reservation time just like you do now.

I'm hoping this is the situation!!

My guess is the that it will look like this:

- Pre-booking (60 days in advance) FP+ will be limited to onsite guests and AP holders except Disney has said pretty much from day 1 that the pre-booking will be available to everyone who has a ticket.
- You will only get to pre-book 3 FP+ in advance each day
- You will be able to get more day of (no more than 3 at one time)
- Pre-booking will be limited to one park at a time
- Day of FP+ will NOT be limited to one park at a time but you will still be limited to only 3 at one time.

I think the rest is fairly likely. Or at least I hope so.

I got "Maybe". :confused3:rotfl:

^^ This may win the 'board for the day!!! :rotfl2::lmao:

I seriously, seriously do not see any possibility for more FP+ or a change to allow the current limit of 3 to be for any ride (not tiered).

Why? This is a program designed to increase revenue. Fps will cost in the future, either as a direct sale or part of a package. If Disney were to give more FPs now in the "free" program, they could not take them back in the future to charge for them.

This is part of a long-term strategy. Introduce the new system to be as different as possible from the old one, try to make it an integral part of the guest experience (sorry to use that marketing/control term), but be sure to leave plenty of availability.

That way, they can charge for additional fast passes in the future. You still get the one fast pass free as you do today (I know, they say 3, but 2 are basically useless), the you pay (directly or indirectly, such as a package plan) for additional.

Just like the Dining Plan, where people think they are saving money, FP++ will make you happy to pay for it. And you'll save money by buying a package of 10 fast passes rather over the single price!!!

Oh yes, create a larger inventory my adding fast pass lines where they have never been needed, such as Pirates, Spaceship Earth, and Small World. I can't wait for the People Mover to have a fast pass.

Exceptionally well-thought out plan by Disney for a significant increase in revenue.

I sortof wish they would do it like the dining credits.. pool them together for length of ticket/stay and you decide how/when/where to use them! wishful thinking right lol...

I was thinking the same thing...and I made sure to include it in my survey after our trip ;)

What makes you think they will charge for them? They've never said that, and they've had fast passes for almost 15 years, there's no reason they couldn't have already done so. I think you're right - it is to raise revenue - but it's to keep people on property, and get people to book further in advance.

I run a live theater complex, and something all of us in the entertainment industry have seen is an enormous decline in advance sales. People book dinner reservations, theater tickets, and travel much later now, which means it's hard to plan. If Disney knows in advance roughly how many people plan to attend what park each day, they can plan hours, shows, and staffing accordingly.

They will likely also continue to use it as a perk for on-site guests, particularly with MYW packages, encouraging you to never leave the property by making it sooooo cheap to add days to your park tickets.

One thing that rarely gets mentioned, is the reduction in FPs should substantially improve regular wait times. I think that's something they are trying to correct, the perception of the general public that you may have to wait 1,2,+ hours to get on a ride.
