FP+ for friends but blocking their ability to change FP's?

We invited my parents to vacation with us at WDW this April, for Easter/Spring Break. They said yes, then no, then maybe, then only for a day or two but not on property, then mostly yes again. Yeah, long story and frustrating. Ultimately, they agreed to stay on property for about half the length of our vacation, then head to the beach. I was also, surprisingly, able to change our Citricos ADR on Easter Day to add them (made the reservation for us while they were still waffling), with only a slight difference in the reservation time, and the MDE site is allowing me to make all other ADR's for them, too, so we can eat together. Yay!

Now the time to make FP+ is rapidly approaching. I would like the ability to make their FP's, but don't want them to be able to change anything. I can easily see them mistakenly cancelling or changing all of our FP's. I think if I add them as friends or family I can make the FP's. Is that correct? Can I keep them from changing them? Should I keep them separate and try to find FP times for them that match our times on their own MDE account (that I helped them set up)?

Add them to your Family/Friend list and don't give them your login info.

All FPs will be under your management and they will have to go with the flow. They do not need their own MDE account.

Not the OP but want to make sure I understand. DD's MIL wants to go with us and take her "other grandchild". (I'm taking my/our 2 and paying for them) MIL and child will have their own room and pay their way but want to dine/ride with us. I won't need to set her up an MDE? I don't want there to be any cost splitting as that could get sticky. She doesn't have an email & doesn't want one. If I can just list her on my MDE without dealing with setting up an email etc that'd be great but I want her to be able to do her own room charges etc. No $ tied to me.

Add her to your MDE and when she checks into the Resort, have the CMs set her MB charges to her credit card info, not to yours. Or, ask her not to use her MBs for purchases.

Since they have two separate rooms, room charging won't as long as they enter the appropriate CC information during on-line check-in.

But wouldn't I have to set up MDE for her in order to have online check in?

You can add her to your Family & Friends list, link her room reservation and complete on-line check-in for her reservation all from your MDE account. When you go through the on-line check-in process for her reservation, manually enter her CC information (don't check the box to store it to your profile).
