can I make FP+ for the early entry time before moonlight magic? I have tickets and a room reservation. I do not plan to use a ticket, only moonlight magic entrance.

I don't think so because you don't get any ticket linked to your MDE.

Definitely not because the “ticket” is just a wristband you get that allows you into the park. Disney does not supply tickets with fast pass entitlements like normal park tickets (or special event ones like after hours, MNSSHP, etc).

I have a 10 entry non-expiring ticket. I have been able to book FP+ when I've gone to special ticket events later on. Now that I think about it, I had a FP+ for a Moonlight Magic in either 2016 or 2017 and got stuck on Frozen.

The question was if moonlight magic “tickets” come with FP entitlements which they do not (at least that’s how I took it). If the OP has extra tickets in their MDE account that they could use to book FP they could do so and scan their MB to access any FP they made. The tickets they have for their other park days on this trip could not be used (or else they’d be a day short of FP entitlements for their other park days). It is important to note that Disney has been tracking MB used to redeem FP when a corresponding tickets weren’t used for park admission due to abuse of the FP system. Too many FP redemptions of this type can get your account locked. I don’t think doing it once during Moonlight magic would be enough to trigger the block but it is something to be aware of.

Did you use the 10 day for entry that day? Otherwise, you would not be scanned into the park because the Moonlight Magic wristbands are not scanned.

No, I did not use my 10 day ticket for admission that day. Since I was staying on site, and I had enough tickets to cover me, maybe the system saw me as approved for FP+ selection for that day.

Yup, we did the same thing....we were able to to get FB's for the early hrs of the MLM for AK for FEB 11th ....

I made some FP for the ak mm coming up. I know you have to scan into the park in order to use them now. We are all AP holders so will scan in to enter the park. Yes, according to the new guideline, if you have not scanned to enter the parks, your account would be locked. At least that is how its been told. Pretty much the same as me using my granddaughters account and booking FP for that night and they aren’t with us. The FP system would know you didn’t scan in. I can’t say it works the way its been warned to work, but would be curious how it turns out.

heres the guidelines. Not sure if they are enforced:

”Beginning today (2017), any guest who uses a FastPass under tickets not used for that day’s theme park admission will have their associated MyDisneyExperience account and the ability to book any further FastPasses locked at the end of that day. The system will apparently run through all accounts to find any culprits overnight, and then lock the account should it find a FastPass was booked illegitimately. Guests with these infractions will have to visit guest relations in order to unlock their accounts. Guest relations will only unlock the accounts if the act was deemed to not be malicious.”

While I haven’t personally tried this (we also have AP so we have always scanned in to the MM park if I booked FP there) I’ve heard that it takes more than 1 day of this for it to lock an account down. However I heard this more than a year ago so they could have cracked down further. Though I suspect in a case like this Disney would chalk it up to an honest mistake not malicious behavior and unlock the account (after the aggravation of waiting in line at guest relations and a warning not to do it again). If the person using the FP was legitimately in the park without having scanned in due to the nature of MM admission procedures and the prebooked FP matched their profile I doubt Disney would punish them. Not everyone follows all Disney nuances the way we do here so I’m sure many would have no clue that there might even be a problem or they could somehow not be following Disney policy when they used FP under their own name when they attended a moonlight magic event. I’d hazard a guess that many people who haven’t attended MM in the past don’t know that you just get a wristband and walk in not an actual ticket with FP entitlements you scan into the park with (they way they do for MNSSHP/MVMCP and after hours events). In all honesty I really believe Disney was/is trying to prevent people from obtaining lots of extra FP via family and friends AP who weren’t in the park (or those who have access to lots of unused tickets on their MDE accounts).

I agree. It’s not like we’re ever going to see any posts from people saying Disney locked my account for FP violations. I just don’t want to be the first one to get dinged, so since I have FP for ak, I’ll be scanning when I enter.
