FP for Characters

We will be going the end of August, there will be 5 adults and 1 Princess. There are so many other FP's I want to get as my original 3, I don't want to do any for characters. I'm wondering how hard it is to get FP for characters day of. DGD has been twice already and has seen all of the characters so any characters this trip will be a plus.

If "Princess" has met all the characters, what's the big deal? That's why there's a stand-by line. Don't worry about FP'ing it and if a stand-by line is short enough and is someone she wants to meet again, get in it.

FPs tend to be difficult to get for characters on day-of.

I did 2 character FP+ over our 5 day trip. That way if the standby lines are long (because of rain or just crowds) we are covered for the toddler. Looking at Touring Plans’ estimates of same day FP availability, those do seem hard to get same day past around noon.

Maybe consider a character meal? You can meet a lot of characters at once that way without using FPs. Though, there is the associated cost.

The Character Spot at Epcot is a good use of a Tier 2 FP. No other Tier 2 attraction at Epcot demands a FP, so why not use one to quickly meet some of the main Disney characters and grab some family photos.
