We don't get down nearly as often as I would like. Its literally been several years since our last visit. Yesterday was my very first time through the new Fastpass process. And by doing some reading and other online research, I think I did ok.

* Got FoP by looking several days into our stay.
* Got 7DMT without issue.
* We've never done Everest over the years, and I was able to snag that.
* Managed to get RnR fastpass adjacent to ToT, so if we do it right, we should be able to roll right off one and on to the other.
* Plus managed to grab several of our longtime favorites like Test Track, Big Thunder, and Space Mountain.

So thanks to everyone here who shares their great tips and insights. Its really helped me to navigate MDE and the new Fastpass procedure. June can't get here soon enough.

Sounds good to me! I just did ours for the first time too a couple weeks ago and I was able to get a FP for every single ride we wanted (all Tier 1 minus shows) no problem, but we have 13 park days lol but still :D Have a great time!

I had my ducks in a row and was on at 7am. Had stuff mapped out on paper, and knew to try and tackle FoP first. Again, a lot of folks here said look a couple days into the vacation to try and get those Avatar fast pass opportunities. Went really well. 20 to 25 minutes to knock the whole thing out !

Would you mind sharing your process to get ready in more detail? :flower3:

Sounds like you got everything you need! I always do the RNR/TOT back to back for the same reason.

My first time trying for FP+ is coming up. This post gives me hope.
FoP seems to be really easy to get nowadays, especially in the evening, and there's plenty for the other iconic rides, I wouldn't worry at all :) unless your date lines up with Toy Story Land opening, that might be a different story lol

We will be there in August so it'll be open about a month and a half.

Sure. Happy to try and make sense of my madness. :tongue:

Made a spreadsheet with each of our days, early on. Once we locked in our dining I added that. Now, we "hop"... but I think what I did could be applied no matter how your family spends their days at The World. So we usually arrive late morning and work our way through to late afternoon at Park A. Then we jump to Park B, where we do dinner and shut the place down. So each day was a column where I had my A and B at the top, along with its hours, then our dining option part way down.

Under that, I made a note of four to five FP choices we were trying to land. Most of these involve some teiring, so in most cases I had our first tier choice - and a backup, just in case. Turns out, I got lucky and didn't need "Plan B". But better to be prepared, right? I also knew, as I had said earlier, that it might make life easier to plan DAK (and the World of Avatar) a few days into the trip. Several folks had stated here on The Dis that 60+3 or +4 might be the sweet spot.

On the day of my FP window, I printed out a hard copy of my spreadsheet. It had the dates and my list of desired FP target rigt in front of me. I then signed into the webpage (did this on our PC) about three minutes before 7am EST. I had already been on the web page a day or so prior so I knew where I was starting. Once I was logged in, I started with my DAK day and landed a FoP time that would work for us. Grabbed the other two FP's for that day, then moved on to our MK day for 7DMT and the rest. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. I personally found it easier to use the alphabetical listing, but some people may choose to use the "time blocks" next to the Most Popular for each park. As I went, I crossed off each day in order of priority - not necessarily chronologically.

Hope this makes sense. If not, let me know and I will try to clarify my gameplan. And I think thats really what it boils down to. Know what you want. Have some sort of order. And, again, I found a hard copy and a pencil was useful to narrow the field until I had completed the task ! Do your research and work that plan when the window opens. Hope everyone gets the same FP magic that I did. :genie:
