FP+ Details Are Out!

I'm a little confused about how this works. How does it differ from regular fastpasses?

You can book them in advance. There's a limit on how many you can get per day. They'll be linked to your Magicband. And nobody really knows all the details because it isn't out yet (being tested somewhat now.)

But someone else can probably provide more info or a link to the appropriate links.

Sooooooo...who wants to hear all about the conversation I just had with the CM who called me back in regards to my email detailing my many and various concerns about FP+?

Exactly...a resort and ticket booking is just a "package", which they call a "Magic Your Way package" because it includes MYW tickets (I'm not aware of any other ticket types being included in a package, except maybe UK visitors getting the longer "ultimate" tickets).

You can get military salute tickets in a package. I am praying that we get to use the 60 day reservations. If not, the money you save on the tickets would be not be worth it for a lot of families.

Nah! Not anybody here...

LOL!!

Yes, please. :)

May I just answer "yes" for the 3592 of us who do, or should we each answer yes here on a separate post? :)

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Also, I think the only real same-day component will be changing FP+ reservations you've made in advance. And those dreaded "surprise" FPs they'll send out that will act as little more than crowd control, but plenty of guests will see them as pixie dust. Sigh, I wish I could be less cynical about this whole system.

The only problem is, we've already gotten two different stories via that route...

thanks for the email address. I emailed my issues with the new system, mainly being the limit of 3 fast passes per day total. Gotta say, it's not looking promising. After receiving disney's response, i'm more convinced that it absolutely will be a limit of only 3 fast passes a day (on top of that, they're adding more "attractions" parades, fireworks etc. To the fast pass list). From the email it seemed the disney really wasn't interested in the repeat customer and much more about the one-timers. Their choice, and it sucks for us, but i really believe this will be the end of our annual disney trips for us. On top of some other issues that we've been disappointed with in disney, i think this will end up being the last straw. I just can't imagine standing in long lines for rides, when we haven't stood in a line longer than 20 mins. In decades. -we go in sept. And always use 6-10 fastpasses a day. I think even my kids would rather do beach trips, or even other areas in the orlando area then wait around in lines all day.

I'm posting wdw's response to my email concerning the 3 fast pass a day limit.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding mymagic+.

We truly appreciate your taking the time to share your comments. Over
the next year, we will be rolling out a collection of tools at the
walt disney world called mymagic+ to give guests more opportunities to personalize their visit. Mymagic+ will make it easier for guests to create the disney experience they want? From securing a visit to a favorite attraction in advance to a digital guide that simplifies how they move through our parks, to the touch of a magicband that seamlessly connects all their plans ? Allowing them to enjoy each moment like never before.

We are very sorry to hear of your disappointments with the changes coming with fastpass+. In order to allow more guests to partake in the new offerings, certain limitations have been put in place. Please know that your feedback has been taken seriously and shared with the appropriate leaders. Our guests? Feedback allows for our continual growth and the preservation of the magic walt disney dreamed about.
........., thank you again for your honest and constructive feedback.

Sincerely,

Yeah... but we can average them out, so to speak. The more we get, the more representative the average... ;) Maybe at some point some truly consistent responses will emerge, and eureka!! We'll have it!! :)

Plus this passes the time until more official info is released. And it's SOME data... OK... data-ish... ;)

Ummm...yes please! Obviously! :lmao: Why would you tease us like that?:scared:

Really, what could it possibly hurt? This thread is based so little on actual facts, I'm willing to listen to anyone with ideas.

;)

I called attraction tickets direct who sell 14 day park tixs to alot of uk holiday makers. For what it's worth the guy I spoke to had been to a Disney briefing for companies abroad selling Disney tixs. He was told it would probably be set at 3 fp tix per day in one park. Though Disney may up them during quieter times. We travel in aug and Do not Want Fp+ to be working then. He was confident same day fp would stilk be goibg then. Though Disney indicated same day fps would be gradually going . Disney will group the fp+ attractions but didn't know exactly how. Main aim to attract new customers ?????
He agreeded with me pm and evening fps will be the "golden"ticket
Guess this may be our last Disney trip......????

It was a long and pleasant conversation. At the end of which the CM told me how to contact him again so he could personally address any additional questions.

The crux of the discussion and what I can pass on to you all is CALL/WRITE to Disney and express your concerns. They are listening and taking everything people are talking/worried about into account. Things are still very fluid as they figure out the best way to go.

In regards to the 3 passes per day...MAYBE it will stay 3, and MAYBE it won't. Helpful right?

In regards to whether we will be able to pick up same day fastpasses. They haven't decided yet. Maybe we will and maybe we won't.

The whole idea of FP+ is NOT to make sure everybody can get FP to stuff. It's to alleviate congestion and length of STANDBY. He said there would be fewer FP overall.

As to what you can get FP for...you WILL be able to pick 3 attractions...not a set of 3 attractions. So if you want to pick 3 headliners, go for it. Not sure about picking the same thing multiple times.

They eventually want to hook it up to Magical Express so that you get scanned at the airport upon arrival and then the resort knows you've arrived.

I didn't ask about AP's (sorry...doesn't affect me so I didn't ask). Didn't ask about off-property or +10.

Like I said, he says they ARE listening. So if you have a beef with the program like I do NOW is the time to voice it...not after its rolled out.

I didn't say it would hurt...just that it isn't as reliable as it really, really should be, which is sad ...

Thanks for the insight!

I also got the same feedback from the moderator at the focus group I was a part of last week. Well...it was supposed to be a focus GROUP but only my husband and I showed up. He said that things are extremely fluid right now and nothing is set in stone yet. So if anyone has concerns, suggestions, ideas, etc that they should feel free to contact Disney since they are eager for feedback.

The most encouraging thing I get from this is that they are listening.

They aren't going to say "here it is, take it or leave it, chumps!" It may get rolled out and have a lot of growing pains, but it sounds like they're very willing to listen and adapt accordingly.

OK, this particular one stands out...but I'm not sure how to read it.

Less FP overall? Anecdotally there are lots of reports that the opposite has already happened - they've increase the number of FPs issued at attractions. Why do that, then reduce them again?

If by "congestion" they mean stagnation, and "length" they mean wait times, I can see this potentially helping there, since it will at least make the standby line move more - but if there are less FPs it would generally mean an increase in standby guests.

For cryin' out loud...congestion may have been a poor choice of words on my part. :rolleyes2

He said The idea of the whole system is to make the standby waits shorter. To make the rides more accessible to those without FP. We specifically joked that Disney didn't spend all that money to make interactive queues for nothing. They EXPECT you to wait in line. Preferably a more manageable line.

Frankly I was very surprised to hear that.

.

My head just exploded.

I had not ever thought of FP+ being used for that purpose. I have only seen it from a money aspect. And also knowing 9 is the magic number.
