I have many reasons why i dislike new fp, but I recently thought of another.

When i was pregnant and visiting with family, I would always just get a fast pass when they did, even though i couldnt ride. One lucky family member usually got a second ride. I stayed behind and watched the little ones while they rode, if they were too small for the attraction. If for some reason we couldnt use it, we would gift the fast pass. This worked out well, they probably made all kinds of money on me because I was shopping and finding snacks!

Are the new ones "transferrable"...Would you just give you band to someone else to wear? Or would it know it isnt you?

MK is good for being preggers, but AK and HS were limited. Cant even do the safari. I couldnt complain at Epcot, lots of yummy snacks, and it was food and wine as well :)

And this is an odd question...but is the tech with magic bands giving off anything. I was even careful to not put my cell phone near my stomach. (before people say stop worrying...pregnant moms often get a little over nervous about things, all that nesting i guess!) But I would always rest by arms on my belly, I wonder if it wise to do that 16hrs a day with a device practically storing info about your every move. I even asked an security person at an NFL game not to scan my belly. They actually obliged and gave me a reduced search.

Short answer you can give your band to someone else. No more strangers, just family seeing as you will want the band back. But the band doesn't say oh this FP is for Ms. Jones not her son Bobby Jones so yes you can still use your FP on a family member the system just knows that the band has a elible fast pass it doesn't know who is wearing said band even if your name is linked to it. I did this with EE in December.

As for RFID and pregnancy I can as a medical professional tell you only my opinion that wearing the band will not harm your child. Obstetrics and PEEDs is not my speciality but I have never heard or read of such issue. Ever held a restaurant pager? Same technology. Again this is my opinion based off professional experience and literature I have read. Please consult your own medical care provider if your concerned As they would know much more about your individual situation than some random practitioner (myself) on the internet.

The magic bands are RF devices so there is a signal. It's also the same kind of technology that wi-fi and bluetooth uses so you're exposed to it a lot more often than you think. But it is all radiation in one form or another and I do understand the concern. There have been studies that suggest that all of this technology might possibly be harmful to a developing fetus but none of them are conclusive in any way. And all of this means that if the Magic Band is harmful then so is your cell phone, wifi and many other devices you use daily.

Personally I refused to use a cell phone when pregnant with my first because of all the concerns back then so I wouldn't think you were overly concerned if you didn't wear the band.

As far as swapping... it specifically says on the official FAQ's that the bands are non-transferrable. However people are doing it all the time so obviously it's another one of those things that is not being enforced at the moment. But you never know when that might change.
