FP+ availability for evenings at DAK?

I have read people were disappointed because they couldn't see the animals very well...

This may be their strategy.
Just ride folks around in a truck, point a light into the darkness and say,
"Looks like we just missed seeing the uncolat clavebertys who normally nest here.
They are known as the "phantoms of the underbrush!"
Oh well, on to the habitat of the striped clorio caydards... Look carefully, they tend to shy away from the light.
Well, they were here just last trip.
Over on that dirt mound we can sometimes catch a glimpse the rare rattled potentia. But, not tonight."

No animals are actually THERE, but everybody gets the excitement of "looking for them."

We got a 8:55-9:55 Safari. I have read people were disappointed because they couldn't see the animals very well but we are going to try it anyway.

I didn't know what time to pick for the safari. Disney just hasn't given out enough info. about times for these new features to make informed decisions. I wanted to be sure it was dark enough but also wanted to be able to see the new changes on the tree of life and this Jungle Book show since it's not sounding like ROL will be ready yet. I know it's going to be hard to do it all but want to try. Figured it would be dark by 9:30 and we'll have to figure out if we will need to go right at 9:30 or wait until time's up at 10:30 once we know more about times. Wishing now that I could also push our other 2 FP's (EE & Kali) from afternoon to evening but there were no more times that I could find. Guess we'll do EE single rider if we want to ride it in the dark. Frustrating to say the least. Question I have now is do I try to plan for TWO evenings at AK just in case (I mean we could possibly have our first night get rained out or something or miss one of the new features altogether). Uggg. :confused3

I know it is hard to plan when you do not know the times for Jungle Book. People are guessing that it will start the same as Fantasmic which is 9:00. So we are leaving from 7:55 to 8-55 open for a FP in case. We have a Dinosaur FP right now so I was going to switch Jungle Book for it if FP comes out for it. I did buy hoppers so if our one day gets rained out we hop over on another night but we wouldnt have FP for anything :sad2:

Oh well it will be something new to try, I guess we go ahead and see for ourselves.

FP for shows only have a 20 min return window so you shouldn't need to save all that time. The FP return time for F! at 9 is 8:25-8:45.

I thought I had read that they weren't going to offer FP's for the Jungle Book thing?! I had an afternoon Dinosaur that I switched to the nighttime safari. I looked at my other tentative AK evening and they do have an evening Kali time available but I'd rather ride that in the heat of the day when I know I have the ability to dry off (I'm ALWAYS the one that gets DRENCHED in our rafts). My family never offers me any help (input) when planning - I wish they would weigh in with what they'd like me to do....

As far as we know, FPs will be offered for the JB show (I think this was confirmed by the DPB), but I don't think they will be offering dining packages.

It is open because I have my FP before and after so it leaves an hour open.

Well I'm guessing EE is not going to have late FP's. Has anyone asked Disney if it will be closed during the Jungle Book show?

I just sent an email to the executive offices of Disney asking about that among other things. I'll let you know if I hear anything back.

Ok thanks :(
I forgot to say that he did tell me that basically because of messing up by announcing a start date for ROL, not making it, and then receiving all the backlash....they won't be doing that again. They will be waiting until they are certain before announcing any dates. He said he thought that the JB show announcement and the Star Wars FW announcement will be coming before our trip (June 4th).

I thought they already announced Memorial day weekend ? Or am I thinking about something else?

They did mention JB show starting Memorial Day weekend which is why I'm sure he said we'll have info on that before June. Apparently he found reliable info about the SW fireworks too since he mentioned that as well.

So, did my FPs last night. Didn't realize (my bad) that I couldn't book FPs in two different parks for the same day on the new update. Thought they had changed that. So I was in a bit of a quandary. You see, we're doing EPCOT in the morning of our last full day (short trip/4 days) and then hopping over to DAK for some night stuff. DAK morning the following day before flying home late in the afternoon. Definitely want to see the new Soarin', so had to book passes at EPCOT. Guess we'll just see what we can see at DAK that night. Tiffins not taking ressies yet, but will look to switch our Y&Y to that when they do. Anyway, good luck all with booking night stuff. I'll keep following to see what others experience.
I have a short trip as well and am doing exactly like you, last day first half at epcot and then AK for night, assuming the nights will still be running in Aug when I go. I'm going to use my FP for soarin as well, and Frozen. Then hope for the best at AK.

You may only be able to get FP for either Soarin or Frozen if they are in the same tier you will only be able to pick one of them. That is if they are in the same tier, we don't know for sure but my guess is they will be.

Yes yes indeed, I meant to say I'm going to FP Frozen. And since Soarin is in Future World which opens earlier than Frozen, I'm hoping to have my ADR breakfast and head over to Soarin. Then FP Frozen once World Showcase opens. I'm curious though if they will change the World Showcase hours for Frozen...... that will be a something to juggle!
