FP+ and staying up until midnight

"Fair" isn't the issue. Each and every hour of the day would be "fair" as long as the system goes live for every person in the world at the same time. 2:00 a.m. would be "fair" as would 6:00 a.m., as would 8:00 a.m.. We can sit around and play the "some people work the third shift", "some people don't have computers at home", "some people don't have computers at work" game all we want. The bottom line is that having people do this at midnight is just plain stupid. The vast majority of WDW guests come from the eastern and central time zones. Yet the FP booking window favors people in the Pacific Time Zone and in Rome. How does that make any sense?

It's fair because it's *not* an arbitrary time. When the calendar says it's exactly 60 days before is exactly when the calendar opens up. If they picked a random time someone would be complaining. But someone is always going to complain anyway. ;)

It's fair because it's *not* an arbitrary time. When the calendar says it's exactly 60 days before is exactly when the calendar opens up.
But it *is* an arbitrary time because ADRs open up "exactly" 180 days before and they do not do so at midnight. Why is "exactly 180 days in advance" done at 6:00 a.m., and "exactly 60 days in advance" done at midnight? See the inconsistency? They can set the time whenever they like. Sure, midnight eastern sets the time "exactly" with military precision. Sort of. Since the parks are not open until 7, 8 or 9 hours later, then you are actually getting your FPs "exactly 60 days and 7 (or 8, or 9) hours in advance" of being able to use them. Wouldn't "exactly 60 days to the minute of being able to use them" be more accurate and less arbitrary? If you really wanted to open up the window at an "exact" time, it would be tied to the hour of park opening, 60 days in advance. Anything else is simply arbitrary.

Hi. I just book a trip and leaving in 37 days. I had 7 days to customize by magic bands and was able to get 7DMT every time we were at MK. In fact there weren't many things that I wasn't able to FP except Wishes on the weekend of my trip. Good luck.

My day was Sat. morning so I stayed up till Midnight on Friday. I had no issue getting what I wanted A/E and SDMT and could have gotten them on any day. Not sure what it's like at this point but it was fine when I did it. GOOD LUCK!

Today is our FP+ selection day. At midnight, I was able to book A&E for 4/10 and 7DMT for our 3 MK days. Hope everyone else has good luck.

We are going over President's week, so pretty busy time for the parks. I booked at 7:30 am the day our window opened. Plenty of 7DMT and A&E. (We only cared about 7DMT). We leave on the 2/15 for our trip and until about 3 weeks ago, I was still able to change our 7DMT windows. A&E on the other hand was gone within a week of our booking times opening. Once in a while, if I was "changing experience" on FP+ a random A&E time would pop up, so for those of you wanting/needing one there is hope!

I got the exact times and attractions I wanted! I'm pleased to say that picking my FP this year on the MDE app was a lot smoother than the ao last year! Yay! We got SDMT on both our magic kingdom days and at the exact times we wanted :)

Tonight is my final FP+ late night thank goodness. It is rough staying offsite and having to book these late at night all week long. :crazy2: So far I have had good luck getting everything we wanted except A&E, I am stalking the site just trying to get them for my nieces. So far nothing, not even one. Luckily I was able to get SDMT, not till the early evening but I'm still very happy we got it.

I actually like staying up and planning for the Fps that I want. I have never been disappointed. It's all part of the overall experience for me.

I didn't mind so much staying up till midnight once to book them when we stayed onsite in November. It's much more onerous when you stay offsite and have to stay up late so many nights in a row.
