FP+ and hopping from AK to DS

We will spend a Saturday at AK during a Star Wars weekend. We (two adults, two older teens) will hop to DS after we have done all we want to do at AK. I have an ADR for Mama Melrose in DS for 8:30 pm. I love Star Wars, but I'm nervous about the crowds, so I thought this was a way to get a taste of what the park would be like while still having a quiet place to sit and eat if it is overwhelming.

Should I make FP+ for the morning/afternoon for AK (Everest, Safari, Dinosaur) or should I stick with stand-by lines in AK (on a Saturday in May) and try to get a few FP+ for DS in the evening? In DS, Star Tours would be the most important ride to us. We've never ridden RnR or ToT (but might) and Fantasmic is a "maybe" for us. We love Buzz, but would choose Star Tours over that.

Thank you.

Agree with Robo :-)

FP+ DS.

It is very crowded on Star Wars Weekend but very fun as well. Make sure you leave enough time in DS to enjoy StarWars Weekend.

Definitely fast passes for HS

If you get to animal kingdom at park opening, you can easily do everything you want with minimal wait. There's really no need for fast passes before noon.

So use fast passes at Hollywood studios and because of the tiering, and that you haven't been, definitely get the fast pass for ToT.

Toy story midway mania is always our tier 1 pick. So you could either do that and brave standby for RnR or single rider line.. Or skip a FP for toy story and do RnR, ToT, Star Tours. Then it's possible that you could get a 4th FP for Fantasmic that night

Thank you. The other wrinkle that I didn't mention is that we are going to revisit DS on Tuesday morning, so we will get another chance to hit any rides we missed on Saturday night. I have to talk to my troops to see if they are willing to give RnR and ToT a try. We aren't thrill ride people.

We love the rides at AK more than HS (other than Star Tours), so it is more important to do Everest, Safari and Dinosaur. Do you feel confident that we could ride all of those without FP+ and without unreasonably long stand by lines? We'd also want to do Flights of Wonder and the two walking tours.

AK is doable without FP as long as you are there before RD. Quick march to KS then hot foot it to EE ( the single rider line is usually faster than standby), then Dinosaur. After that see when the next FOW is scheduled and work in the trails as time permits.
