Will be at AK rope drop on a moderate attendance day.Should we use FP+ there or save for our MK visit later that evening? Thanks for any opinions.

It really depends on what you would like to do in each park. Will you have more time in either park?

We were at AK on a really crowded day and we had trouble coming up with 3 things to fp. We needed it for Expedition Everest, but it was wasted on the Lion King and Nemo shows (we did safari at rd). This was our first time at AK and we were less than impressed and wound up hopping elsewhere. That being said, if there are 3 popular attractions that you would really like to do at AK (Kali, EE, Dinosaur) without waiting, it might be worth using your fastpasses there since you have multiple park days. If you want to ride any major rides at MK that night, though, I would fp+ those instead because the only fastpasses available will be for less popular rides. Depending on when you are going, the lines can get very long and that's no fun at the end of the day. It all depends on which park you would like to ride more at and where you won't mind spending more time standing in line. :)

I'd save my FP for MK later in the day. I love AK, and usually spend two full days there each trip. If you're going to rope drop, head to the Safari first thing, then single-rider-line EE.

I'd definitely save it for MK at night. You can get a lot done in AK in the morning

We just did this, saving FP for MK. It worked very well. If you arrive at RD, you can do most of the headliners at AK without a problem. We saved our FP for Splash Mountain, SDMT, and BTMRR at MK that night. All of those had posted waits of 40 - 70 minutes.

Single rider line wasn't open at EE when we were there (a Monday in July), but the line was only a posted 20 minute wait at 10 am.

MK just tends to have the longer lines, and if you want to do any of the biggies at MK, you will almost always save more time by using your FP there than at AK.

If you really have a lot of planning time now, you could check out MDE and see general wait times for the rides you would consider getting a FP for at the times you would consider being there, and compare that with the wait times at the rides at MK you would consider fastpassing there.

Like the previous poster, we did AK twice in the morning and were able to get in everything without long waits. We saved our afternoon/evening fastpasses for other parks.

Just my opinion, but... Any time I was going to spend any portion of my day at MK, I would want FP+ for MK. Especially if you are after 7DMT or A&E. MK just seems to have so many more attractions where FP+ can be valuable.

My favorite things to do at AK are the Safari and shows and animal trails, and those are easy to do without FP+ especially if you hit the Safari at rope drop.

I would definitely say to save the Fastpasses for somewhere in Magic Kingdom. In Animal Kingdom, the big ones are usually Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, and the Kilimanjaro Safari. Without a doubt, you could do at least two of these at rope drop with little to no wait. If you try to do Everest and the Safari first, Dinosaur is usually a breeze.

Most of the other rides (Primeval Whirl, Triceratop Spin, etc.) have like no wait at all, so don't worry about those!
