Foyer storage bench?

We're finally in the home stretch of the latest part of our never ending home construction.

We added a 5x9' foyer to the front of our house. One side will house a real, actual coat closet, so that next winter we'll actually be able to sit on the living room couch without moving an assortment of coats, hats, mittens and boots.

The front door is in the middle.

And on the other side I want a small bench, so we can all use it for those snow boots. (Above it I'm planning on some coat hooks for the day to day jackets and backpacks.)

Obviously I need something pretty small. (It can be about 4 to 4.5 feet long, but not too deep.) And nothing too delicate. And I don't want a full storage bench, because I don't want to block the baseboard heating that will be directly behind the bench. Right now the color and design style don't matter since we're only at the sheetrock phase and don't have a color scheme yet.

We could go to Ikea... it's 5 minutes away. But I would prefer something that we don't have to put together if possible.

OK, shoppers... what do you think?

Not sure this will work for boots but I have a bench from grandin road that I love. Fabulous quality and extremely practical piece.

The owners of the house I bought had a set from lowes (bench and shelve with cubbies and hooks). They left the shelf and I repainted it to match my bench. It is extremely functional.

Be sure it is a storage bench with DRAWERS and not a lift top. Sure enough you end up with stuff stacked on top of the bench and it is a PITA to remove everything to get to the stuff stored inside. With drawers you can always access the stuff stored, even if your "shoe change bench" turns into a "tote bag and backpack bench" as it did in my house! ....................P

I ordered one for a friend from wayfair as a house warming gift and she loved it. It was a Linon Cynthia Solid Wood Storage Entryway Bench. It sits off the ground, but does have the flip lid. They had several that have drawers and seemed reasonable in pricing. Her boyfriend put it together fairly quickly and said it was simple.

Christmas Tree Shops if you have one. I have two different ones ...for mud room and foyer. Each was under $100.

Here are some choices, but I bet you will end up having to put it together.

Also, try Craig's list. These will be put together already. We had the same problem, and ended up getting a storage ottoman at Crate & Barrel. It's working well as a seating option, but we are not storing anything inside, actually. Fortunately, we have a separate shoe storage unit.
