So, we had a Boboli pizza shell that was going stale, so DH threw it in the yard thinking the birds would eat it.

Flash forward about an hour, no birds, but DH calls us upstairs, to see a young fox eating the pizza shell.

We watched him for about 5 minutes, then he got spooked, picked the whole thing up, and scooted back into the woods.

It's like Wild Kingdom around here!

I would love to see a fox in my yard! How cool!
I was at a mexican restaurant recently waiting in the parking lot for my friend to arrive. Several birds were fighting over one mexican chip. A mama bird was feeding it to her little ones. The larger birds tried to get it from her but she won.

Cheri--we are in a very suburban setting, that up until 20 years ago was very rural, woodlands, farmland, and wetlands mostly. It's like Wild Kingdom around here:

deer, wild turkeys, foxes, dinosaur snapping turtles, all sorts of critters. There are coyotes around, but we've never seen any. Of course there are lots of skunk and raccoon too.

Lol my friend's dad got attacked by a fox in their backyard 2 weeks ago. It just ran at them from the woods. Out of no where.

I believe he's still getting shots. Be careful with foxes.

Debster! We have to figure out a catchy name for you. You know, one like that guy Steve Irwin has ... The Crocodile Hunter? LOL! :teeth: I might have to start a new thread asking for suggestions. Hmmm.

The first and only time I saw a fox in my backyard was when I first moved in here with my mom. I was sitting on the back deck, eating an orange. It was about 8 or 9 o'clock on a summer's night. I thought a dog was running along the edges of the woods, but as I got a clearer view I realized it was a fox! So, what do I -- Miss Nature/Animal Lover -- do? I run in the house and lock the door behind me like the fox could open the door and run in after me or something! Bwhahahahaha! I was so ridiculous I stood there laughing at myself. :teeth:  :teeth: :sunny:

never under estimate a sly fox ;)

debster-You're not in the NC mountains are you? All of those animals (minus the fox) have been seen here this year, and it's crazy! You never saw that kinda thing here when I was a kid...We can hear coyotes sometimes, but thankfully we've never seen one...

I do remember a few years ago driving down the road and saying "Look at that big dog running in front of the car" only to realize a few seconds later it was a bear cub! Yikes!
