Fourth of July weekend trip worth it?

We wanted to start a tradition of taking a mini-vacation each year for the Fourth of July. Last year we did Chicago for a day, but I have SUCH a Disney bug that it's the only trip I want to plan. We'd be able to go from July 4-July 6/7th. It would be more of a resort style trip, with maybe one or two park days just to watch fireworks and explore. Would it be worth it for such a short trip, given it'll probably be wall-to-wall crowded?

We already have an 8-day trip planned at the end of August, so I'm really not sure if it's worth it to take a trip in July and if we should just wait out our Disney bug until then.

Debating the same thing...we get off our cruise in Port Canaveral on Jul3 and my birthday is July 5. The heat and crowds kind of scare me though

Only you can decide worth, since it's your money. If you're happy with a different itinerary, as you said, then go for you. You're going into it understanding the circumstances.
