DISCLAIMER: This is my first ever trip report! Please be nice!
Recently returned from an August trip to do Disney and IoA! We had a lot of fun!
The Cast:
Me, of course, 23 year old male
Paul, college buddy #1
Nora, college buddy #2
Vanessa, college buddy #3
Our trip began on 8/15/2010, with a flight from Logan Airport in Boston to Orlando. The flight proved to be more eventful than we planned. Because we checked in later than we hoped we would, we were sitting away from each other on the plane. Paul ended up in the back row of the plane next to a disgruntled passenger. As the story goes, he really wanted a coffee, and they had made him throw his out before going through security, as they always do. He told the flight attendant he needed a new coffee. They politely informed him they would be doing beverage service later in the flight.
At this point he did the totally normal thing and threatened to bring the plane down.
When we landed in Orlando he was escorted off the plane first, followed closely by... Paul, who was detained so he could give a statement about what happened. We ended up having to wait an hour so he could talk to the FBI about the whole ordeal!
Once he was allowed to return to us, we were able to board the Magical Express to All Star Movies. Instead of 11, it was closer to noon, but our room was ready, so we dropped off our bags and headed to the MK! Between 12:30 and 2:00 we were able to do The Tiki Room, Pirates, Jungle Cruise and Thunder Mountain! No wait for anything except Thunder, which was still only 10 minutes.
At 2, we boarded the monorail and hit Chef Mickey's for our lunch reservation right at 2:15. After lunch we headed back to ASM for a nap as the heat was getting to us a little bit. at 6:30 we trekked back in to the MK. August in Florida is like nothing I've ever experienced before. I fully admit I sweat a lot. Within moments of leaving our room every night I felt as though I was drenched in sweat. Really gross.
We grabbed a fast pass for Space Mountain, Waited 20 minutes for Buzz, where I scored a personal best of 480600! After that, we did CoP, back to Space for our fast pass, then Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain, all with no wait. It was getting close to midnight at this point and Paul and I were exhausted so we called it a night while Nora and Vanessa stayed until 2 for EMH, doing Space, Thunder, and Splash again.
Coming up: Nora faces her fears, and I get up close and personal with Indy!
