I don't remember what page she posted it on but I think she said something about checking Hummelstown too.

thanks D&D you rock! going back to look now, and racetrack I will check out Hummelstown too. Thanks!

OK, went back to M&N's post.

I checked Hummelstown, and the only hotels listed are the Hilton Gardens Inn and the Holiday Inn Express. Both are full for the 18th and 19th.

As for the Econolodge, that was on my list, but it looked dumpy and had poor ratings. Also, the price was $130, NOT $60.

I think I am leaning towards the Courtyard by Mariott (Harrisburg East) or the Homewood Suites (Harrisburg East) unless someone else has a better idea. I will go with the flow, but I wont stay in a dumpy hotel--been there done that, with bugs, dirty sheets, filthy bathrooms, etc. No thank you!

MagiKitty has never had a s'more?!
LivinInTheCastle I hope you slept better last night.
whgrn I hope they get your wound taken care of this time.

Just made final payment on our cruise tour. Ugh, now I can't use the credit card for the rest of the month. Now I'm more excited, too late to back out. :rolleyes1 Wish I could join you all, but at least I can live the meet though this thread.. :)

Hey guys, I think I may be getting smarter. Let me reiterate: MAY be getting smarter. I found a great website giving me good prices. Just took me a long time to figure out how to use the map!

I'm leaning towards Holiday Inn East Harrisburg near the airport. Newly renovated, claimed by TripAdvisors to be about 10-15 minutes from the park. And it has indoor and outdoor pools--tennis courts, arcade, fitness.

Any opinions on Holiday Inn?

Hilton Garden Inn is on rt 39 which runs into Hershey. That's one I was thinking of. Also, did you check the ones listed for the Harrisburg airport? There are some too at the Swatara exit of 283. The ones that say Harrisburg east should be ok. West or downtown would be farther away. I wonder what's going on to fill the hotel in Etown?

That Holiday Inn looks pretty good, esp. if now they have redone it. And its only $115/night! Location looks good too.

Works for me MK!!!!

M&N...what do you mean?! The TKers are coming into town--apparently we're ALREADY causing a commotion!

Hershey had better watch out! I think you may be about 15-20 min from Etown there. It's getting more real now! :dance3:

OK, I have just booked 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East! MK is doing the same. Anyone want to join us! $115/night!!!:cool1:

I'm booked too! I was even a nice aunt and got two queen beds so my nephew won't have to sleep on the sofa...His birthday is this weekend so I'll tell him then. Woo-hoo! Non-caloric chocolate world here we come!

Aw, DL55, we sure will miss you on our weekend. Just make sure you have a drink for us on your cruise! I know what you mean about watching the budget--but I got a great deal on the hotel and now I just have to work more to pay the bill off! Really, though, memories are priceless and life is just too darn short. And everything can be done on a budget with planning (and maybe a little scheming).

The TKers are coming!
All are welcome!

I'll figure out the best way to get around from there. It's near a JCP and a Target. There's also a Christmas Shoppe nearby. It's not really Christmas stuff. Places to eat there---some dinner, Bob Evans, Eat&Park, Friendly's, and I think a Chilli's. There may be some others like a Five Guys in that new shopping center. I can scout the area if you need more info.

I think the tickets I can get are around 31. Those of you going more than 1 day will have to figure out which would be cheaper. Check the Hershey Park site. I have no idea how many I can get. I'll take a nose count when racer gets back. Also think if there's anything else you would like to do.

I am so distracted. Just thinking of Hersheypark....

M&N...I think an important thing we need to do is establish a meeting place! When I met with LITC at EPCOT, there was this "uh-oh--how will I recognize her?". But I guess we could just meet at the hotel? Maybe it'll be warm enough for kids to swim and a get-together by the pool?

Last night, BF wants to make plans for Florida. I had to jump on it, coz that doesn't happen too often! :rotfl2: I didn't realize that park hours come out so late--I have to wait until next month to find out which parks are open at what time. My ADRs can be made on July 2, so its going to get hairy for a while. I found a great tip on the Boards--don't waste TS credits during Food and Wine! If I can get a ressie for Le Cellier, then we will eat there, but otherwise, its snacking through EPCOT.

BF and I are going back on forth on whether to splurge on MNSSHP or see Blue Man Group. They cost about the same. I'm pushing for MNSSHP, coz its free candy and its 8 hours of fun! BMG is really cool too, but its two hours and I have to pay for refreshments! We're going to Sea World coz I can get them for free in exchange for points, so aside from the pricey rental car (prices are insane this year!), our "splurge" is really all we have to budget for.

Aaah, planning for fun is so difficult! :rolleyes1

Hey... there's an idea. We should all do a cruise sometime.

We will miss seeing you DL55. :sad1:
:yay::banana:on having the cruise paid off though.

Glad we got the hotel thing straightend out now. Hope one of those rooms is big enough to party in. party: This is getting so exciting. Since I have no other vacations to look forward to, I'm going to just enjoy planning for this one. :cloud9:

I vote for MNSSHP also. :thumbsup2
If anyone likes Reese's please eat a peanut butter cup for me. princess: DH will eat a jar of pb a week and loves chocolate (his inner feminine side) but doesn't like Reese's. :confused3
I would think it would be easier to meet at the hotel and then travel together to Hersey Park. Less people at the hotel vs the park.

ssshh...I'm hoping for MNSSHP too! But BF rarely asks for anything. He asked to BMG and to eat at Sci-Fi. I'm hoping to appeal to his wallet. BMG gets out about 9pm, so that leaves plenty of time to hit the outlets! If we got to MNSSHP, its until midnight AND there's free candy!

Oh, that should scare him! :rotfl2:
