Four-mer TKers...4 one, 4 all, 4 ever

Okay.. I have been doing my homework and researching Toyotas, Hondas and Dodges. Going to search tomorrow and do some test driving. :drive: Wish us luck as I HATE dealing with car dealers. Such a bunch of shiesters (sp?) - as my grandfather would say.

Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend? Nothing here. Probably more yardwork and some grilling. Hope the weather holds out. Maybe we should take a bike ride???

I read something today that you should go in to buy a car looking to a) find a car you like, b) pay a price you can afford and c) walk out feeling like you've been taken for a ride! Sad but true!

No plans for the weekend, as I am still recovering. Hoping to go see my Mom. She gets out of rehab tomorrow. Woohoo!

D&D:Good Luck! We bought a Toyota Sienna two years ago this November. We had a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan before that and my DH hated it! Not sure if it was the van or if it was the fact that we bought it used and the people before us were tough on it or something. The way car sales are right now you should be able to run the show. When we went to buy our van DH had already decided what we could afford and how much he was willing to pay. He basically let the salesperson do his thing and then said "Look, this is what I'm willing to pay to drive away today in a new Sienna." The salesman did his back and forth with the manager and we ended up with the price we wanted and could afford. I wish we could have been able to go up one catagory and get the van with the dual electronic sliding doors(plus rear hatch) but we could only do the LE. Less things to break!

Not much else is going on around here. Oh, I did hear some sad news.
I can't think of anything else to share right now. I hope you all have a great evening and an even better day tomorrow.

I had the one with the sliding doors and it was great. I miss that so much on the Highlander. I do have the automatic back hatch tho. you are spot on with how you go about dealing with the salesperson. You are in charge! In this economy, they should THANK you for giving them your business! Youll still feel like youve been taken for a ride, but hopefully not as much.

So very sorry about your uncle's son (your cousin?) What a jerk to do that with the obit.

I've been doing some online searches on cities/towns in Florida. I've found one that we are very interested in...Auburndale. A former diser actually gave me some info on it. It's pretty small compared to where we are now. And it's a little closer to Disney than I actually planned on moving. Might take a ride over while we are on vacation to take a look around.

Where is it racetrack? is it north of Sarasota? I def want to be south of there. Between Ft. Meyers and Sarasota works best for me. Let us know what you think of the place!

Good afternoon friends! I'm glad to see that everyone is enjoying this fine weather we all seem to be having! its sunny mid-70s here and we're loving it!

its Fleet Week! We went down to NYC yesterday and there were Marines and Navy sailors EVERYWHERE. It was wonderful! It seemed the entire city was happier with all the young gleeful men running around. If in uniform, almost everything is free for them and people were just going up them and saying hello and thanks. I love NYC at times like these.

I took my visiting family to the Empire State building, which is horribly overpriced but is a must-do. Can you beleive my cell phone didn't have signal up there? It was a gorgeous day to be there, we could see for miles (although I was too busy looking at the boys!). From there, we walked up Fifth Avenue and crossed 42nd to Times Square. We did a little gawking and then had some real NY pizza for dinner before the show.

We got tix to see Mary Poppins. Honestly, I didn't find it that good. The sets and effects were amazing, and the performances were very good. But it just wasn't MAGICAL, what I expect from Disney. In comparison to Beauty and Beast and the Lion King, MP just kinda fell flat. it was disappointing, but it was fine enough.

D&D...its out in the mail!

Wendy, so glad to hear that you're feeling better and getting an appetite back.

DL55...good luck getting to/fro dentist. With this fine weather, also comes great construction. ugh

LITC...thanks for sharing the US news! have you felt LITC-let move yet? How's the nursey coming along/

Racetrack, I've been using AVG for years and it was only when I downloaded the latest update this week that my computer freaked out. Its a good program and was very pleased with it until a few days ago. I'm using a newer program now from pctools.com and haven't really been using it long enough to make a proper judgement.

My family is leaving Sunday, so we have to pack them up this weekend and make the trek to JFK. Then my Dad returns from the Phils and I have to GO BACK to JFK on Thursday night. Ack! I'm just so tired. All this entertaining and being a good host really takes its toll on people!

have a good day everyone! Don't forget the sunscreen and enjoy this beautiful weather.

Hey Kitty-sorry to hear that Mary Poppins wasn't to great for you! It's coming here at the end of July. I was thinking about getting tickets, but now I might have to rethink that.

As far as the baby, I think I might have felt some movement last night, but I was not 100% sure. Haven't felt anything else since. Nursery is cleared out, and my husband patched up the walls, and taped up the areas we are taping. I will try to post pictures if we ever finish it (he is really turning this into a project!!)

Yey to Kris! I know what you mean - let the kid have his moment. It's just a TV show. :sad2: I wish both of them the best.

I am glad the FBI foiled that plot too. :thumbsup2 Koodos to them on a job well done. Gotta stop these freaks!!! :scared:

Kitty - Thanks! I'll be watching for it in the mail.

Sorry to hear you have to deal with car salesmen. I think I am an overall nice person, but the second I have to start dealing with one of them my inner demon comes out.

As far as weekend plans-The Billy/Elton concert is Saturday, so whoo-hoo I am pretty excited about that. Other than that I will probably work on the nursery and the rest of the house that has been neglected lately.

Good evening ladies!

Only one more day before we get a three day weekend! :woohoo: The boys are going to be gone for 3 days with my inlaws!:woohoo:Please forgive me if I mentioned that already as I've totally lost track of who I've told this stuff to.

D&D:Good Luck! We bought a Toyota Sienna two years ago this November. We had a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan before that and my DH hated it! Fleet week must be something to see! All those delicious young men in uniforms. Some of the older ones aren't too bad looking either!

I can't believe racetrack only has 15 days until her trip! Pack! Pack! Pack!

Not much else is going on around here. Oh, I did hear some sad news. My Uncle by marriage has two sons from a previous relationship that I knew while I was growing up. I don't think that I've seen then in atleast 5 years and I just learned, from my DS11 of all people(he's friends with the son's half-nephew), that his yougest DS out of the two commited suicide. He was only 37. I feel so bad for my Uncle and to make things worse for the guy whomever gave the information for the Obit in the paper totally left out my Uncle and the entire side of that family. Nothing like a little kick in the ding-ding!

I can't think of anything else to share right now. I hope you all have a great evening and an even better day tomorrow.

Very sorry to hear about your uncles son, what a horrible thing to happen to a family. I hope they can heal.

Evening!! Just sitting here waiting for DH to get home. He was out of town for the week again. Cincinnati this time. And he might go back out of town next week too. I'm telling ya, this vacation can't come soon enough.

Pikester, that is so sad about your Uncle's son. I'll be saying a prayer for his family.

You are so lucky. A long weekend without the kids. Try not to get into any trouble. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hey Race, let me know how that city works out if you visit it. I still hope to move to Florida one day.

By the way-I still have the flat TKers here, so if anyone is interested, just let me know!

whgrn, it's about 90 minutes northeast of Sarasota. It's only about 30 minutes from Orlando. I've looked at pictures of the area and it looks nice. And just looking at general real estate ads, housing seems very affordable.

LITC, hey how are you doing? I'm going to take some pictures of the area when we go down. I've been told that there are no malls in Auburndale. Small townish and laid back.

I'm sure someone will claim us. Maybe D&D will want us for her drive over to PA?

Cool, let us know if it seems nice!

Yeah, whoever wants to take us next just contact me and I'll ship us!! Right now we are all hanging out on my never used dining room table!

Good morning friends! Happy Memorial Day weekend! no plans here, just hanging with the family before they fly out on Sunday. What that really entails is lots of eating and trying to fit everything into luggage.

I don't have hot water! Its because I'm an idiot....I shut my boiler's emergency switch to off accidentally and didn't notice right away. I noticed while doing dishes that the water wasn't warming up. When I turned it on, my boiler won't switch back. Oops. My contractor friend thinks that I may need to service my boiler. Ugh. He'll be here tomorrow. I guess I'll be stinky until then. Sorry in advance.

I realized this morning that I haven't gone grocery shopping this week and if my SIL and nieces stay the next couple of days, I better do some! I don't even have milk or bread. I've basically been eating out of the freezer the last few days.

Hey there Pikester! Been wondering where you've been. Such sad news about the loss. What a difficult time for the family. Hooray for you being child-free this weekend! Enjoy!

D&D....good luck on the test driving! Just keep your eyes open and your ears shut. They will try to convince you to buy everything, just know that you know your life best and you will totally kick any sleazy salesmen's butt! Your perfect vehicle is out there.

Racetrack...how exciting about finding a perfect little town. BF is solidly pushing a move to Florida too, and we'd love whatever info you may find. I personally am not into moving that far south, the weather earlier this month was too much for me. But its good to keep your options open. At this rate, it may become a town of TKers!

Wendy, yeah on Mom's getting out of rehab! You two just loll around the house, enjoy the company and some great food if you get hungry.

LITC---have tons of fun at the concert this weekend! LITC-let is going to her/his first concert. This kid has quite the social life already. And congrats on the dining room table. I have one too, its pretty accessible, its the living room coffee table I'm still searching for....

DL55..how's the drive go? And the dentist?

I'm absolutely dreading the traffic this afternoon. And the grocery store. My area gets absolutely crazy with weekenders. Usually its great, the area and the economy needs it. I'm not straying far beyond my front door if I can help it.

Cool, let us know if it seems nice!

Yeah, whoever wants to take us next just contact me and I'll ship us!! Right now we are all hanging out on my never used dining room table!

I'd love to take us. Might get to ride in a new car too and GO CAMPING. For most of us, that's as close as they'll get. :rotfl2: LITC... you'll have to supply a new pic of yourself and "Baby Castle" bump.

Wish us luck as we head out to deal with sheisters.

D&DDisney Good Luck!
Pikester sorry to hear about your loss. The obit may have been an oversight, as the family was in shock. I know I don't think of my sils' families (in fact I can't think of any members of one sil family :guilty:)
LivinInTheCastle I'm sure you'll be feeling more movement soon. :wizard:

:dance3: It's raining. Temps only in high 70s..AC not needed.
We try not to go out on the roads over holiday weekends. We've made it to our 50s and want to continue a little longer. Everyone have a happy and safe holiday!

Just finished replying, hit post and got an error-disconnect message!
So I'm giving up for now.

I did need to say for those coming to Hershey that I'm trying to get some discounted tickets from a friend. I'm not sure of the cost or how many I can get, if any, but I'll try.

M&N...you rock! Thanks for looking into tix...how was your vacay? Hoping you get your post on here!

DL55....I totally agree with you on staying safe and around home rather than running around during the holiday. Isn't the holiday supposed to be laid back and relaxing? I know I'm far from relaxed on the road!

I had an incident at the bank just now. I do a lot of paid surveys and I use the checks to pay for my trips. I went today to cash in $43 worth. First off, the bank lady was eating when I got to her and was far from pleasing in her demeanor. She looks at my checks and cashes them out....to $376! I look at her and ask if she's made a mistake...she smirks at me and says "do you think I miscounted?" and proceeds to count the cash again. I say, "I think you misread the checks, there's too much money here". She looks again and says, "oh, I thought the check was for $300. It doesn't really matter, it would have come out of your account anyway." It was so unprofessional. This is the woman who is handling my accounts! I understand that everyone makes mistakes, but I was just so put off by her demeanor about my funds...what if I didn't have enough cash?

I just caught up on my mail/bills. It cost 120 for my plumber to fix my faucet...79 labor! He was not even here 30 min!

My trip to Richmond and Williamsburg was great...relaxing too. We had some rain but not for the outside wedding. Mom and I visited the botanical gardens Sat am to figure out what was what. It was very nice. Went to Wmburg in the rain Sun am. Only went to visitor's center. We got free passes with our room so that was a good savings. Mom got tired with all the walking but she was able to find benches while I explored. She did have fun too. My camera acted up---have to get a new one before next trip for sure. Mom had to call about getting her dryer fixed today. Doesn't something always go wrong when you have extra to do?

Sounds like you all are having great weekends...I call staying home great too. That's what we are doing. I told mom we could drive around if it's nice. The gas here is more than in VA. If it's not raining, I may go to Hershey Sun pm for the concert. They said the new addition to the waterpark area is very nice...a lazy river and a wave pool.

Glad LITC-let's doing good and things are moving along for the new room. There are so many details to think of but it's so much fun.

So happy for Dad being #1...now you and Mom need to be healthy for him, Wendy.

I just cannot believe the attitude of the teller Kitty...I think I would report it. How can you have confidence with that kind of attitude. And it's very unprofessional to be eating...I mean, even gum chewing should not be allowed.

Racer---you really got ahead of me! This week's picks were just kind of off the wall trying to pick some different ones. I joined Jr's fan club. Someone gave me the www and said I would get some stuff from them. I really am worried about him but must say he looks a lot better without that beard. Jimmie should follow suit. I heard cheering after 18's qualifying yesterday...because he didn't get the pole!!!

Gotta get back to Mom's...back Tue.

Hi Sukie, Lighttech, Pikester, D&D, DL55, and whoever else I did not mention...

Evening!!! Had great weather here today. Even a slight breeze every now and then. Pretty pink sunset tonight. I should have taken a picture.

Magikitty, didn't you have problems with your bank before? I really don't like the fact that she seemed very nonchalant about your money. She didn't apologize, did she? So BF wants to move to Florida too!? We talked about it for a long time before we made the decision to go through with it. This is the link for the place that we are looking at hardest right now.

http://www.city-data.com/city/Auburndale-Florida.html I will take some pictures of the area while we are there.

M&N, I'm so glad you had a good time at the wedding. Did you get to take any pictures? If you are looking for a new camera, I've had great luck with our Canon's. I got lucky on the racing picks this week. I was really tempted to keep the same guys for the 600.

D&D, how did the car shopping go today?

DL55, we most likely won't do any traveling this weekend either. There is an arts/crafts/music festival about 10 minutes from here that we might go check out. Lots of good food so it's very tempting to go. Other than that, we'll be home and watching the race.

Hey all! In addition to needing to catch up, I wanted to ask everyone to send a little pixie dust my way. I woke up not feeling good, but I figured it was morning sickness and should go away after I ate. Well it has been getting worse all day, and I think I may have the flu!!!! This is not only the second memorial day weekend in a row that I have been sick, but the Billy Joel concert that I have been waiting on forever is tomorrow!!!! I so dont want to miss it.

Oh LITC, I really for you. I'm going to send lots of pixie dust your way. pixiedust:pixiedust: I got really sick during my first pregnancy. I don't think I ever felt so horrible and I didn't want to take anything because of the baby. But it passed and I was fine. You will be too. Do you have to work tomorrow? If you don't, please take it easy.

Have you had a lot of morning sickness?

Fortunately, I do not have to work tomorrow. I plan on spending most of the day in bed. I did take some Tylenol, only 1 though dont want to take too much. The dr. said I could take it for the headaches I had during the first trimester so I figured it should be ok for now.
I have had morning sickness allot, it usually passes within an hour or two of waking up and getting something in my stomach.

I had "morning" sickness morning, day, and night. I can look back and laugh now but it was horrible at the time.

Have you had any weird cravings yet? With DD13, I had a day where I just wanted clams. It was Labor Day weekend and there were none to be found in the usually places. He drove all over to find me a dozen. After that, all I wanted to do was eat and eat. :rotfl2:

During the first trimester I had it ALL the time. About 4 or 5 weeks ago it went to only "morning" sickness. I can't really say I have had any cravings exactly--I can eat a taco at any time, but that has always been one of my favorite foods anyway.

Mmmm, tacos. I love tacos. I could eat them at any time including breakfast. Even though I'm not pregnant, I can still tell DH at 11pm that I want him to make a taco run.

You mentioned that you thought you felt the baby move. Just wait...soon you'll see your stomach contort into these strange shapes. It really is pretty awesome. I really loved being pregnant. Just sitting with Dh and watching the baby move around. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.

I'm with you on the tacos, all to often late at night we think hmmm I could go for a snack, and where do we end up? Taco Bell of course!

I think I might have felt the baby move the night before last, but I haven't noticed anything since then. Hopefully I will notice more soon. I can't wait to notice more things happening. I'm really excited.

I'm so happy for you. And soon enough you'll be wonder when the baby will stop moving around so much just so you can rest without being so darn amazed. Mine were all most active during the night. I swear as soon as I lay down to get some sleep, they all decided to to somersaults. :lmao: And of course I couldn't sleep because I had to watch. It truly is amazing.

I gotta check out for tonight. I hope you and hubby and baby LITC have fun at the concert tomorrow.

Night!!!!
