Four-mer TKers...4 one, 4 all, 4 ever

D&DDisney Glad to hear your MIL is recovering.:flower3: Sometimes it takes awhile to figure out what happened. It's like an electrical short, very hard to diagnose.

Been watching Clean House :scared1: I was motivated to clean my house. I know it's cluttered but I still have a way until I'm that bad. :scared:

Good afternoon everyone. Got a bit colder here today, but still great weather overall....

D&D! Sending huge prayers out to you and your family. I know what you mean about not finding anything...if you knew what caused the grand-mal then you could treat it or avoid whatever caused it. But not knowing...its like walking on eggshells. But she is stable and everyone is with her. Big huge hugs out to everyone.

DL55...I know what you mean. I'm horribly disorganized and while I SHOULD be doing something about it, there's just so much other fun stuff to do! Some of those houses are really crazy...I'm not there yet either, but I better be careful or else they'll be knocking at my door too!

D&D I am so sorry to hear about your MIL. Seizures are scary, that's for sure. I am praying that she gets better soon and they figure out what was wrong.

Dad found out today that he is NOT #1 on the transplant list. No idea how he got that message wrong, but he did. Also, his hemoglobin is now lower than mine (which is very very low), and they may have to start ProCrit injections. And his Creatinine is very high, which means he will likely have to get his dialysis port inserted right after his next dr appointment (which is in 3 weeks), Needless to say, we are NOT celebrating in my family today.

On my end, the minimally good news is that my sutures are all out and that has cut back the pain tremendously. The doc started me back on antibiotics, and I go back in 2 weeks. Hopefully I will be feeling MUCH better by then.

DS has been a real terror. So DD and I are trying a tactic that the dog trainer gave us for the puppy. We are ignoring him completely, as if he does not exist. If he talks, we do not listen or answer. If he asks for something, its like he never spoke. He is NOT enjoying this. But I think the message may be getting through. We are only going to continue until tonite--its actually really HARD, since it means I can't yell at him when he misbehaves, which is all the time. DD has been a trouper, but it is harder for her becuase she has to deal with him on the bus, etc. She actually slept in my room last night, with the door locked, because she was afraid he would come in her room and hurt her. Yes, its that bad. If camp doesnt help this summer, I may have to get a court order to supercede the ex on sending him away to a special school program in NC. I cant force DD to live like this--no one should feel unsafe in her own home! Plus, I expend so much energy dealing with his antics, I have very little left to give her. And remember, she is the "special" child, so she really, truly NEEDS my attention, protection, etc. Its like I am between a rock and a hard place. (insert smilie of me banging my head on the wall repeatedly)

Well, off to slay the dragons...

Oh, Wendy what a day you're having! Sorry to hear about the mixup with Dad's list. It sounds good what you're doing with DS, but it must be so exhausting. But its a good way to teach DS about being part of a family and how his acting up is about him and how it distresses both you and DD. Much luck to you in dealing with the situation. Glad you're feeling better and less pain.

Good evening Tkers!

I see some not so good stuff has been going on over the last few days.:sad2: :grouphug: to you all.

Your patio looks great Wendy! I love outdoor furniture. I'd buy lots of it if I had some place to put it. :rotfl:

DH tried to watch the race this weekend but it got put off so many times that he just gave up. We did watch the Indy 500 though. Strike that, he watched the Indy 500 and I snoozed in the recliner. Only woke up when the checkered flag was thrown.

The kids went to Lake Champlain (VT side) with the in-laws over the weekend so DH and I had 3 days without them. Some friends of ours came over Saturday night for chit chat and a game of Triva Pursuit for Dummies. The game is pretty cool and easy; that is until you get a couple of Twisted Teas in ya and then the brain has to work a little harder for the answers.

Not much else has been going on. The weather is going to be not so good the rest of this week. Rain, rain and temps below normal. Blah! Oh well.

Have a good night!

Good morning friends! Its very chillly here in upstate NY...its only about 45 right now and rainy. Its supposed to rain for the rest of the week. But the weekend is supposed to be lovely.

Where is everyone? I hope its just busyness with school ending and summer beginning and nothing to worry about...

Mentally preparing myself to drive through Manhattan and to JFK tomorrow...have a good day everyone!

D&DDisney: Glad the car shopping went great...that new smell is wonderful. I have 2 friends who just got new cars because of the great deals out there now.

mariezp: Way to go on ebay. Keep that souvenir fund growing. Some stores try and get me to use their charge cards but I flash the Mickey and say I need it for Disney! Glad you were able to enjoy the zoo...the pic was adorable!

LivinInTheCastle: Glad you are feeling better. Did you get the crib? You'll have to get some Elton music to play for LITC-let to get it moving!

WHGRN: Keep up the good work there. Just keep nibbling away. You've come so far...You've got the TKers behind you. The porch is wonderful. When I win the lottery, that's one of the ways that money will be spent!
Just keep praying that the #1 spot will be filled quickly so next one can move up!
I hope the silent treatment works. You are right---you cannot let one boy, no matter how much you love him, ruin the lives of others too. If you cannot help him, he needs to go where he can get help.
I hope the dragons got slayed. ;)

D&DDisney: Sounds like your weekend was really Memorial---unfortunately not in a good way. Thankfully they were able to stabilize her. Prayers are definitely there. Hopefully they will be able to figure things out. I'm sure they do so many tests they find out what's not wrong with her.
Congrats on your picks...guess you were doing a rain dance then! I was just glad it wasn't #18...Racer don't read that!

I think we had July weather and now back to April. I bought a crepe myrtle but have to decide where to put it before it dies...I already had a few die because I didn't get them planted and left them on thier own. There's probably not many plants I haven't killed at one time or another. My thumb isn't green.

 Hi there M&N! How ya doin, sweetie? I missed you on here.

What's a crepe myrtle? I guess its a plant? I thought it was something to eat!

Rainy, cold day here(50s). Hard to believe its almost June when it feels like early April.

Kitty-We received the coupons yesterday. Thanks sooo much!!! My DS7 was so excited about the Disney magnets and wish makers. :yay: Thanks for those too. DS always goes to get the mail and came running in yesterday saying "Mommy, you got a big fat letter from someone. What's in it? What's in it?" like I can read through the envelope. :lmao: You made his day!

Sorry about your Dad. That must be soooo disappointing after feeling so good last week. Still hoping all goes well for him.

I can really relate to the issues you have with your DS. We've been there before. Had to have DS7 go lock himself in the car once when DS11 was in one of his moods. Had to physically restrain him. However, he's getting older and someday I won't be able to do that. :scared:Will probably have to make a similar decision like you are now. It really isn't fair to the other child when you have to sink so much time and energy into one boy. :sad2: I absolutely DREAD the summer and having him home. I've got it set up to keep him busy and out of the house almost every week of summer just so DS7 and I can have some normalcy.

Not much else has been going on. The weather is going to be not so good the rest of this week. Rain, rain and temps below normal. Blah! Oh well.
Same weather here. Rain and cool all week.

What's a crepe myrtle? I guess its a plant? I thought it was something to eat!
:lmao: Good question? What is a crepe myrtle? My thumb is green and I've never heard of that plant.

Hey D&D! Glad to hear the coupons made it to you...hopefully it'll help us all out with our ticket prices! If you want, PM me your DS7's name and I'll send him some mail once in a while. I just got some NYC postcards when I was down there that I can send to both your boys. I totally understand about being excited about mail---I still look forward to my mail, even if I get the dreaded CC bills!

I just found out about this link: http://slickdeals.net/?sdtid=1370035&u2=http://brands.kraftfoods.com/sharealittlecomfort/ Click on it everyday and Kraft will donate a box of Mac and Cheese to feed the hungry. Not the most nutritious of meals, I know, but sometimes a little mac and cheese just makes everything seem better. And you can print out a coupon for yourself too!

Thanks for the link to Kraft. I just donated one box.

Kitty - I'll PM you with names. They'll be so excited.

Just found out they discharged my MIL from ICU last night. Still couldn't find any cause. Very strange. My DH was upset because he's worried they discharged her prematurely. Hope that's not the case. Just seems weird that they can discharge someone who went through all that with not so much as a clue to WHY. Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts.

 Yay on Mom being discharged. Just keep an eye out on her and keep her stress levels as low as you can. I'm sure she'll have a follow-up soon and maybe, hopefully, some answers. Still keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers...

I've been telling everyone to donate! Seems silly and insignificant, but if it can help one little tummy from going to bed hungry its so worth it!

Well, it has not been a great day in the WHGRN family. I was awakened at 7:45 am by a phone call from my BFF, who had just become unemployed. What? They couldnt tell her at the END of the day, instead of making her get up at 5:30 am to come to work at 7 and get the news at 7:15. Nice, huh? So she is devastated of course, and I feel so helpless cause there is not a single thing I can do about it. At least she got a really good severance package.

Then, I go to change my dressing and discover that my ENTIRE incision has opened up. Not a surprise, but still not a pleasant discovery. So I now have a bigger hole in my abdomen than I did before surgery. Ugh. I suspect I will NEVER have an intact abdomen.

On top of all that, Mom says Dad is seeming down in the dumps Not surprising under the circumstances Still, it concerns me.

D&D,glad MiL is home and I hope she is fine. Weird that they still don't know what was wrong.

When I worked in the food pantry, we gave out a TON of Mac and Cheese. It may not be the healthiest meal, but its tasty and a good protein source.

This really hasn't been a good week - has it???:sad2:

Hey ther, thanks I am feeling much better, and my sister and her husband brought over the crib on Monday. Even after her 3 kids it is in great shape, we are so lucky they saved it, really helps us out not having to buy one!

Sorry to hear all this bad news Wendy, I sure hope you get to go on your vacation-you really need a break.

Just looked it up...crepe myrtle is the southern spelling for crape myrtle. I'm not greart at spelling but we say crepe like crepe paper. It said that's what the flowers look like. There are some like in FL that grow like trees. You can see pics of the flowers here: http://www.crapemyrtle.com/colors.htm

tn_Tuscarora1_jpg.jpg
This is kind of a tree version.

Been trying to get here for over 5 minutes. :headache: I don't know what keeps taking so long but it's getting really annoying.

It was cold and rainy here again. The only good thing about this weather is DH was able to come home till Friday.

Wendy, I know exactly where you are coming from with DS. Spent many years living like that. We are slowly fighting our way out. And we did research boarding schools for DS. We were going to send him on ahead to Florida residential treatment. If you ever need to talk, you know how to find me. Give your dad a hug too. He'll be first on the list before he even knows it. And you take care of yourself.

D&D, that is so scary about your MIL. :grouphug: to all of you.

M&N, I tried to catch you before you signed off but see problems above. I gave up watching the race on Monday. Kyle had the car to beat. But I'm happy for Reutimann. Nice seeing a new guy win.

Pikester, you sure got that smilie right.
