The PA finally called back. By then the fever was gone, back down to normal. So since I said the incisions all looked perfect, she said as long as the fever didnt go up high (over 102), I should just come in Monday as planned. If the fever spikes, I am supposed to go to the ER. NOT going to happen!!! Our ER here is useless, and the ER up in Newark is a nightmare. I will just eat Motrin like candy and keep that temp down to normal!

naturally, as soon as I hung up, the temp jumped up to 101.7, but Motrin took care of that really fast. I woke up at 5 am freezing and it was back up to 101 something, but Motrin and several blankets solved that problem too.

My brother is coming at 11:30 to take me to visit my mom at rehab. I know I cant drive that far (40 minutes), but riding should be no problem. I havent seen her since Monday, so I am READY!!

As far as minivans, I adored my Sienna. It was the best vehicle I ever drove. Only reason I traded it in was mileage. 16 mpg made me feel guilty, which was why I went with the Highlander hybrid. Dont get me wrong--I do like the Highlander, but it just isnt the Sienna!! I have directed many people towards them, and no one has ever regretted getting one.

I love to hear all the good stuff about the Toyota Sienna. I'm leaning towards those right now.I've started looking on the internet for decent miles/prices in our area. Found one we may have to check out.

Racetrack - I was looking at Dodges and I love the idea of the fold-away seats. Big sell for me. :thumbsup2 Right now in our Chevy you can take out all the seats except front two. Great for hauling stuff when needed. Plus, we've slept in the back when camping w/ all the seats out. :thumbsup2
We have the option of 3 in the second row or using the "captain chairs" spacing. The boys can't be touching at all when we drive.
D&DDisney, I just got through doing the battle of the dandelions here myself. I suppose it would be so much easier to put out some weed and feed but I have flowers on the edge of the lawn and don't want it out until after they bloom so I just keep digging and pulling. At least our front yard looks pretty good but the back is pretty near one giant dandelion patch!
We bit the bullet and bought a new truck this year too. I really enjoyed not having car payments but we had to get something for my DS. I hope you find just what you are looking for without having to pay an arm and a leg or an entire body!
I'm still bummed because I put the Scotts Weed n Feed on this Monday and it seems like NOTHING happened. I am positive these dandelions have morphed into a stronger breed this year. :headache: Pulling them out isn't an option as we have 1/2acre of land and that would take FOREVER. :scared:

I am determined not to pay an arm, leg and torso for this next car.

Morning all:

It's a holiday weekend so of course it is cold and raining. Suppose to have sun tomorrow & Monday but still be cold...D&D does the rain let up??

I have a Sienna as well, with the captain seats...mind you lately I separate the kids into different rows because they fight when they're side by side. And with the leather seats and sunroof open, I can pretend I'm not driving a mommy-mobile.
The rain missed us yesterday. Just cold and cloudy. Today its sunny but still cold. No rain until Tues. they say. Tonight, they're forcasting FROST. :scared1: So my poor little flowers will stay in the garage another night. :flower3:I am anxious to get my veggies planted too, but waiting a few more days. Tomatoes like it HOT!!!

Hello...I'm back.
LivinInTheCastle Congratulations!

Glad everyone had nice Mother's Days. I received secondhand roses. The campers on one side of us gave them to the campers on the other side of us. They were leaving and didn't want to take them with them. I knew the second campers were leaving that day also. When we came back from our hike there were roses in a grape juice jar. :rotfl2:
That hike almost killed us we hiked out of the canyon, an 8 mile trip. Could barely walk for 2 days.

DSC00310.jpg

We started on the canyon floor.
ViewfromLodge.jpg

We ended up near the lower dark line on the cliff farthest back.

A visitor popped out of the ground near our camp. :upsidedow

Are you NUTS?!?!?!?!?!?!? OMG, that was quite a hike!!!! I could not have done it. That is so cute about the roses.

I went to see my mom today at rehab. She is doing pretty well, and should be coming home Friday. Daddy is feeling "OK". He felt well enough to drive up to PA for his 50th reunion (Lehigh, racetrack!), but came home feeling blah. I think it was the burger, chips and cookies he ate for lunch--not the best menu for irritable bowel syndrome. He is supposed to come here to get us tomorrow to go see Mom, but I told he we will wait to decide in the AM when we see how both he and I are feeling. My family is just falling apart.

Close to 80 degrees here today, and humid. I love it!

Evening!!!!

whgrn, we drove past Lehigh on our way home from Quakertown today and saw the big balloons they had out with '59 on them. The thing is, we hardly every go to Quakertown since traffic is so horrible that way. I hope your dad had fun. And I am glad your mom is doing so well. Don' take any chances with that fever of yours.

DL55, those pics are great!!! But there no way in heck I could have done that hike. That is freakin insane.

lighttech, what's wrong? Why was your day so cruddy?

D&D, our last van had the seats you could remove. But they were nothing but a pain in the butt. And we usually didn't have a place to keep them once we took them out.

DL55 - What a hike! Impressive!

Racetrack - Nothing major... just one of those days. DM wasn't feeling well, BL wasn't either (just an upset tummy, he's trying all kinds of new foods these days, and I think he's having a little trouble adjusting to the more solid "solids" sometimes), DH was stressing b/c BL was so crabby and DS was too hyper and the weather wasn't good enough to go out, and I was stuck at work. Just felt kind of useless. Everyone I wanted to be around that needed me, and I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm home now though, and things are looking up. Are you watching the All Star race (silly question, I know)

I know those kinds of days. They go right along with the days that you are there and nothing goes right. I have lots of those kinds of days. I'm sure BL will adjust to all the new foods soon enough. Is he a good eater? And tell DH the days won't always be like this. Sending some pixie dust for DM to feel better soon. pixiedust:

Of course we're watching the race. Loved hearing everyone boo for Kyle. :rotfl2: Though Jeffie still got more boos....at least the fans got that part right.

I have lots of those too! ;)
DH knows. He's in charge at home every Saturday when I work. Stinks sometimes, and sometimes they have an awesome day. Just like when I have them at home alone too. We get to double team on Sundays, so I look forward to those a whole lot!
BL is a ridiculous eater. :laughing:Honestly, he eats more than his big brother. I know babies are supposed to know when to stop, but I'm not sure he does... he just keeps going until we cut him off. He makes the funniest noises too. We just laugh b/c he's just learning how to use his pointer finger and thumb, and its like he's stalking the food. He concentrates so hard, and gets all red in the face and then does his "war cry" where he does this odd grunting/yelling noise. Then, he'll finally get the piece of food and just start laughing and smiling from ear to ear... its hysterical! :rotfl: Of course, then he gets hungry, and just starts shoveling it in by the fistful.

I didn't hear much of the intros... the laptop is a way back from the tv, and DH has the volume down since DS tends to wander out and ask if he can watch racing. (DH is training him young...)

Anyway, the laundry is calling... nice chatting for once though.

I'm so glad you could stop by for a while.

Oh my, this is so funny about BL. I can so totally picture it too.

DD6 is already a big racing fan. She likes Kyle Busch too. And can't stand Jr....calls him a loser. I don't know where she picked that up from. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Have a great rest night.

Hi lighttech, M&N, pepperw23, BKMETV, Pikester, and Sukie!

MagiKitty, I loved your pictures! It looks like you were having a wonderful time. I can't wait to see some of the characters that they never have out at Disneyland.
Speaking of characters.... I asked DD today if she had to choose just one character to see who she would pick. Her choice is Sleeping Beauty aka Princess Aurora. So.... what's everyone's opinion on the best place to meet up with her? I'm considering Akershus and, of course, there's the possibility of CRT but honestly their menus don't really appeal to me very much. Can anyone convince me that they are really worth it? If not, I am thinking DD may just get to make do with finding Aurora at one of the character spots. I'd LOVE to take her to the tea party but good grief $250 seems pretty steep to me. Anybody done that one?

racetrack18kb, I am glad your DH is home so you can get some good sleep. Must be nice.... I am just the opposite... My DH snores so loud I sleep with my DD just so I can get some sleep!
Your youngest sounds like mine.... quite the talker. Mine never meets a stranger... and she seldom ever stops talking.
Thanks for asking about my trip plans. They are coming together... well, sort of.... I learn something new everyday so I either add something, take off something or change something.
I did find a better deal on a rental car if I can convince DH that Dollar is as good as Enterprise. He thinks the name makes them sound less than desirable. Anyone used Dollar before? I have read only good about them and I did like the fact that they were in the airport terminal instead of having to take a shuttle.

whgrn, I feel for you. We have the ant invasion almost every year. Thankfully it only usually last a week. I don't suppose they really hurt but yeah, they are really annoying!
I am with you on the lack of modesty. After childbirth who the heck cares anymore? Actually, I think I gave mine up even before that.... I can't even remember the number of times I was asked if a student could come in and "observe" while I was having my annual exam done. I have certainly made my contribution to science! I am with you though. Doctors get stuck seeing everything but outside of his office I try to keep this poor old bod all to myself. No use torturing innocent bystanders!

D&DDisney, I just got through doing the battle of the dandelions here myself. I suppose it would be so much easier to put out some weed and feed but I have flowers on the edge of the lawn and don't want it out until after they bloom so I just keep digging and pulling. Darn Marie....I was in the middle of a good reply to you and the power went out. Let me see if I remember what I had typed.

DH does snore like the dickens here. It's so bad that he even wakes himself up sometimes. There are plenty of nights I have to wake him up to send him out to the recliner to sleep. But I still need to know that he's in the house for me to sleep good. Unfortunately, DH has to leave on Monday for another week at least out of town.

To answer your question about Sleeping Beauty...you can usually find her in the Judge's Tent in Mickey's Toontown Faire. The lines use to be really long but since they opened the Fairy room, I think it has cut down on the wait a lot. There is no guarantee that she will be there but you can stop at Guest Relations in the morning and find out if she will be there.

And don't discount the princess meals even if the food doesn't sound too appetizing. We went to Akershus for both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was great because we had ADR's for before the World Showcase opened. It was really nice to walk around without anybody being there. We have some nice pictures from then. Food was ok but the Princesses really took their time with the kids.

When we had dinner there, the only thing we really liked on the menu was the traditional Kjottkake. It kind of reminded me of Salisbury steak. DD had the salmon and hated it. I tasted it too and didn't care for it all even though I like fish. But the princess interaction was out of this world. My middle DD wore her Jasmine outfit to dinner and Princess Jasmine made a big to-do about her. We still have the pictures of the lipstick print on her cheek from the hug and kiss DD got. That more than made up for mediocre food.

I'm not sure if I am remembering this correctly but doesn't sleeping beauty and her prince do a song or something behind the castle area in MK? For some reason I am remembering that and then I think you could meet them. Does this ring any bells for anyone?

Happy Sunday all:

Sun's come out but it's cold only around 40*F.

I The rain missed us yesterday. Bought my hanging baskets on Friday because the cottagers all arrive on the long weekend and clean the place out...so now I have flowers in my kitchen 'cause it too cold to leave them out overnight...they are suggesting not planting for another 2 weeks since it's been so cold.

Sleeping Beauty was the one Princess we kept seeing over & over. We went to the Judge's Tent when it first opened for the day...the wait for fairies was 1 hours, Princess line was 5 mins. So we did them...saw Aurora, Cinderella & Belle (they list who is there at the doorway)...Aurora was also at CRT, and we also ran into her outside France at Epcot...that was a great place because NO ONE was there except us so DD had a long conversation with her. Actually found Epcot the best place for characters...Jasmine was at Morocco and Snow White & Dopey were at Germany...not quite as crazy as MK.

Good evening ladies. Trying to catch up today with all of my housework. Yesterday was the yard sale with Pikester and her in-laws. The weather was fantastic and we had alot of traffic. The morning was the busiest and it always seems to dwindle around lunch time. Afternoon was kinda slow and 3:00 couldn't come fast enough. All in all we had a good time.

DL55~ WOW, you are "BRAVE". :thumbsup2

D&DDisney~ :cheer2: "Go Toyota" (we have a Rav4).

BKMETV~ Morning cold, rainy and 50* here. Afternoon cold, sunny and 55*. Come on summer. :sunny:

lighttech~ BL will need "Hungry Man" dinners pretty soon. :lmao:

whgrn~ Did you get to go and see your mom?

HI~ racetrack ~ mariezp~ M&N~ pepper23

Hey all. Been trying to adjust to being back home. Weird though when everyone keeps asking how was your trip? How do you think it was? It was fabulous and I do not want to be home!!!!

Marie-my sister has actually taken her daughter to the disney tea with Aurora twice actually. (She's a bit of a pushover) and they had an amazing time both times, they felt it was worth it, and they put on an amazing time for the kids, but I do 100% agree with you-$250 is very very steep. So it would have to be a personal decision-just thought I would throw what I knew about it out there.

I really want to thank EVERYONE for the well wishes on the baby. We spent half the day clearing out what was the office/computer room to start making a nursery. We also started talking paint colors. I think we are going to go to home depot first, before we make an actual decision. My next ultasound is Tuesday so I will keep everyone updated.

Wendy-hope you and the family are feeling better, keep us in the loop!

Hello to everyone, not trying to miss anybody, but after the long week at work, my brain is fried!

Morning!!!!

DD13 had her big orchestra trip this past weekend. They went to DC and Richmond for a competition. They were suppose to get home around midnight on Saturday. They never made it until after 3am. They ran into traffic and there was a line of storms moving through the area. And of course, they left the amusement park late. Thank goodness it's her last trip like this.

LITC, nice to see you. Do they expect you to say that your trip stank and you are sorry you ever went? :rotfl2: Don't they know you were in the Happiest Place on Earth? Sounds like the baby preparations are moving right along. Definitely keep us updated.

Ev, I forgot all about the Princesses being at Epcot. We never made plans to look for them there but we always seemed to run into them. And you are right, the crowds were much better than at MK. We always seemed to find Belle in her blue peasants dress and nobody was there.

Marie, I know I use to have a list that told you where and which characters you could find at the different parks. I'll see if I can find it for you.

D&D, how'd you like the race? Someone else brought this up but did it seem like they were changing/tweaking the rules as the race went along? I thought poor Jeffie was gonna cry when he got wrecked. Too bad I coudn't send a tissue through the tv for him. :rotfl2:

Hi Sukie, DL55, whgrn, lighttech, Pikester!!!

Magikitty, where are you?

Morning:

Got the kid's home today for Victoria Day...the sun is finally shining but it's still cold. We were down at a friend's cottage last night and let off fireworks at the lake...was really beautiful except it was around 35*F and I had to be wrapped in a blanket...What is with this weather??:confused3

Mind you looks like it will warm up by the end of the week just in time for your long weekend.

Didn't get to see the race. :guilty: Don't have cable/dish. DH followed on radio and internet. Bummer that Kenseth lost after leading til almost the end. I would have loved to see Jeffie so sad. Like your tissue idea.

Happy Victoria Day!!!! Memorial Day is next Mon for us.
This weather does stink. Had to cover my flowers again last night. Patchy frost. :headache: Waiting for some of that warm weather they promise for this week.

Had to share this picture with you. Danny Gokey cookies. :thumbsup2
MY DS7 was so excited to see this at the grocery store on Sat. Told him not to eat until I took a picture of it.
May08006.jpg

Are we crazy about this guy here or what???:rotfl2:

D&DDisney, Believe me I can't keep up with pulling out all the dandelions in our yard either. I just try to keep up with a few in our very front yard until it gets mowed several times and the grass takes back over. Now the back yard is a totally different story because like yours it's huge. We had more dandelions than grass! Here's to conquering the dandelions and taking our yards back!

DL55, sounds like quite a hike! 8 miles? That would take me more than 2 days to recover from! I bet it was a pretty hike. The only time we have seen the canyon it was snowing! Not at all what we expected. :sad2: You meet some pretty nice folks when you came. It was nice of them to share the roses with you.

lighttech, I hope your little black rain cloud

has lifted and today is looking brighter!

whgrn, I hope you and the family all get feeling better. Maybe at least one of you can pull yourself together so there will be someone to take care of everybody. On the up side, you are still lucky enough to have your parents. My DH and I are like little orphans with no parents.
crying-1.gif

My poor kids only have "adopted" grandparents.

racetrack18kb, don't you just hate that when you loose all you have typed up! Makes you want to.....
computer.gif

It sounds like the Judge's Tent could work for us to see Sleeping Beauty. We saw the fairies at Dl last year so it won't be a top priority for us. Thanks to them for helping to make the princess line shorter! BKMETV, thanks for giving me the hope of a 5 minute wait! I like it! I am not sure I can bring myself to do a princess meal. We have been to Ariel's in DL and seen them all anyway. Plus, I really feel like I should try to save where I can. Everything will be so new that we will have plenty to do without the added extras. Still... ya never know what I may decide at the last minute so always good to consider all the options. I like the possibility of finding Aurora in at Epcot too. Maybe we will get lucky... catch her not too busy and get in some quality time with her. DD talks so much it makes it nearly impossible for it not to be a special moment.
blah.gif
You never know what she will say! She usually cracks them up and really gets them talking too.

Pikester, singing and dancing prince and princesses sound like fun! Will have to see if I can find out more about that one.

Sukie, glad the yard sale went well. They are good for clearing out and bringing in a few bucks but I know they are also a lot of work!

LivinInTheCastle, Ah man! I was hoping no one would tell me they had had a great time at the tea party! DD would absolutley love it. Hmmm.... more to think on. :rolleyes1.... Maybe it's time for me to have a yard sale too? I have actually been making a few dollars on ebay.....hmmm... :rolleyes1

Oh boy! Planning for a baby is so much fun!
smiley_baby.gif
9 months will be gone before you know it.

D&DDisney & BKMETV, thought I'd send a little sun your way!
smiley-sunsout.gif
I hope everyone else has a bright and blessed day! :flower3:
