thank you everyone for your additional prayers for the little guy. He has several issues and isn't due until July, but the doctors are hopeful that with surgery, they'll be able to repair him right up. He has two vessels in his umbilical cord, when he should have three. He has a heart condition called tetrology of Fallot and they're waiting on news of a chromosomal disorder called DiGeorge syndrome which has cardiac anomalies, cleft palate, and immunolgic issues.

My niece was born with Tetrology of Fallot (if I remember correctly) She had to have a few surgeries after birth (they didn't know of this before she was born) and she was fine. She is 12yrs old today and won't have to have another surgery until she's in her upper teens. So far so good.
Another friend of ours found out their son was going to be born with a problem with his colon and intestines. They were so worried right up to his birth. He had surgery in Oct. and is leading a very healthy life as a 5 mo. old.
There is always hope and not everything is as dark as it seems. for them.

I freaked out a little bit to my BF and he's not taking it well either. I'm not looking to get pregnant anytime soon, but its definitely on my radar. BF is worried about health issues for our baby, and I keep telling him we'll cross that bridge if we have to. Besides, who better to understand about special needs than us? And he has CP, its not contagious or anything. I tell him that having a baby for anyone is a scary experience, it perfectly fine to completely freak out. But I do fantasize about a baby with his smile and my hair. We laugh about going to Disney one day, with me pushing him in a wheelchair, and him pushing a stroller! I think we may have to go for an ECV in that case!

There are genetic counselors out there who can test both of you to see what potential issues there COULD be, before you get pregnant. They will also talk to you about your odds, etc. Very helpful. My brother and SIL had that done. Very helpful for them to make an educated decision.
I think you would make a FANTASTIC mother MK!

Its crazy coz the time interval between finishing up school and getting started with life is so small and suddenly it seemed I woke up pressed for time! Then again, my previous relationships were definitely NOT healthy enough to start a family. I'm thinking this one is a keeper.

D&D, I haven't even gotten a chance to dye my hair yet. I want to chop a bunch of it off first. This weekend for sure. Can't stand the gray much longer.

marie, if you think your DD will enjoy the kidcot stations, you should definitely let her do them. Make sure you stop in China to color part of the mask. When my kids did them, the cm there wrote their name in Chinese lettering on the back of the mask.

I'm wondering if what made them decide no political discussions was the fact that some of the posters were turning the fluff threads into political debates. That was really uncalled for. If they wanted to argue politics, they should have kept it to their own threads.

MagiKitty, it sounds like the doctors are on top of things with the baby. Modern medicine is SO amazing! They may certainly have some trying times but it will be so worth it.
As for you, you keep dreaming about that baby and you will know when the time is right. I know right now it makes you worry about all the things that could go wrong but there are lots of babies born all the time perfectly healthy too. Either way, you just love em!
OOOH! I love Cadbury eggs too! Unfortunately I eat more than I should since they are only out around Easter time. Which reminds me.... I need to look for some next time I am in the store!

All my hard work and research that I was so proud of for saving us some money... KAPUT! DOWN THE DRAIN! I don't know why I even try! I told DH that I found a cheap rate for our rental car. He asks which company and when I tell him Dollar I can just see him almost cringing as if they are not worthy of taking his money. ARRRGGGH! He asks what type of car and when I tell him a Jeep Grand Cherokee he says it just will not be big enough. So, HE gets on the phone to Enterprise. HE is a pilot so HE is going to get us this fabulous rate. He checks the rate on a Chevy Trailblazer. My rate was $690 and his is $782. I told him to go ahead and book it so it will make him satisfied. Not a lot of difference BUT I thought my mission was to find the best deal. Frankly, I don't care which car company takes my money if they have good ratings. And after comparing sizes his choice is going to be very close to the same size plus we will have to be picked up by a shuttle instead of just picking up the car ourselves in the terminal, which I thought would be a big deal to him. On top of that, Enterprise did not even end up giving him a discount for being a smug, superior pilot. Okay, I'm through! I feel much better now.

Marie--I'll support you on this. I don't get it either. But if DH thinks he got a better deal, let him stew on it. I think you did better. I'm going with Dollar because its at the airport. I've read decent things about it also. I've rented from both Thrifty and Hertz offsite, have taken the shuttle, and while its not that big of a deal, it does add time to the vacation. I tend to fly out early in the mornings too, and returning that car offsite and worrying about the shuttle is just added stress.

You didn't pay for your rental, though? Just made a ressie? Things can be undone. I'll hope for a better rate for you also. Been checking relentlessly on my end.

marie, typical man always mucking up our vacation plans. Mine does the same thing but usually much, much closer to our vacations. You have my sympathies.

I have the same problem. Seems like every time a front is going through or there is a big change in temps or weather, mine act up. Almost like I am allergic to the weather.
No purple hair yet??? I got my hair cut over the weekend and am noticing a lot more gray then before. Gosh I hate getting old.

BL is just getting over an ear infection, and both boys seem to be getting yet another head cold, we're dealing w/ refinancing our mortgage (yea for at least one advantage to this economy), and work is hectic as all get out. All things considered though, everyone is doing fine, and I'm counting my blessings for a job, a house and 2 amazing kiddos!

So, like I said, nothing to worry about, just busy, busy, busy..

Miss you all, and I'll try to get back on from time to time. I hope everybody's doing o.k. I don't even want to know how many pages I am behind...

ID&DDisney, good luck on DS's cake! I always make an attempt at a home made birthday cake but they never look very good. Thank heavens they at least still taste good! DH and DS can't pick a simple cake.... they both ask me for Italian Creme Cake. Yummy but a pain in the rear. Tanks and volcanos? I've never been that creative!

D&D, I didn't see that thread before. I try to avoid the budget board. It always turns into the "let's spend more money" board. I can't use that promo though. We don't drink soda very often and when we do, it's never Pepsi. I'm still waiting to see if they offer the discounts tickets for sale at Giant. Nothing in their ads yet.

BF is frustrated he can't find his beloved chipwiches at the grocery store. I keep telling him he can only get it at Disney...and with free dining, he could have one every day for free. I hope my evil ways are working.

So it turns out my sinus infection (or cellulitis whatever lol) was worse than we thought. I have been in SO MUCH PAIN!!! It is finally starting to go away. Stragely that was the only symptom though, face pain and swelling. Not fun.

Wow D&D! Looks like I need to spend more time on the budget board. Wish they would give an offer like that in VA. I guess they figure we are too far away. bummer.
