I have virus protection but no spam protection. I do have adware and spyware protection on here. It's called spyware doctor and it's by google. It's free too. Not sure if that's what you are looking for but that's all I have on my computer at the moment.

Oops, correction..It's the Amazing Race that's looking for contestants. I wonder if I can convince DH to apply. We usually don't get lost unless DH has looked it up on MapQuest. I think we'd be too dull...we never yell at each other.

DH and I would kill each other in the first episode...he doesn't take direction well and I don't sleep in strange places.

Hey---What's happening. Am I missing the Amazing Race? Any new sickies? Hope the old sickies are on the mend.
Basketball tournaments are starting up. I love college basketball. It's not boring.

Can't figure the basketball stuff out..my friend writes about Bracket Science for ESPN and sends me all his stuff...beats me what it all means??

I don't have Vista but still use it. I'll see if I can find a link to the one I have and I'll email it to you. It works great and does a quick scan for me everyday.

Ev, are there more episodes of ER left? Was this the last one? Do you know how many more?

I really only follow ACC basketball. I mostly root for UNC and Duke. They are rivals and I am probably the only person who likes both teams. I know when they are playing the conference tournaments, the teams are broken down into brackets. When they go to the NCAA championships there are 4 brackets and teams from the same conferences can be in different brackets but I really don't know how they make it into which one. They are then rated in each bracket. It's too scientific for me...I just root for the teams I like.
I've been trying to do my NASCAR picks by records rather than favorites but still let favorites sneak in.

Back to my safe place. Poster complaining about a teacher who said test was from the review but it all wasn't. Why do teachers do that? I responded---you need to ask the teacher. Complaining to the dis won't answer the question. I didn't write that last sentence. Maybe her daughter didn't hear the part where the teacher could have said to use the review as a guide. Anyway, the 3 other posters were not sympathetic either.

And everyone is right? How can the people on the dis answer her/his question? Was everyone in class with her daughter?

I will say though, since the OP said that the part of the quiz was on material they didn't cover, the teacher was using it as gauge to see where her starting point with the new material would have to be. Does that make any sense?

I get what you mean but it should not count as a test if it's a gage. It could be to see who read the assigned text chapters? Who listens in class. I personally don't think word by word info for a test would be just in a study guide. Why bother to come to class? Whatever...we could debate it all night. The only person who actually knows the intention and what directions were given to the student is the teacher. Again, another case of my child is always right and knows more than the teacher.

And you are right, nobody really knows what was said but the teacher. For all we know, the kid just bombed the test and is blaming the teacher. I'm sure it happens plenty of times.

I don't know where it came from. I know someone mentioned the movie Fight Club and the term "precious snowflake" if my memory serves me correct. I guess it morphed into special snowflake. And, no, it's not only used here.

Do you have any plans for the weekend? One of Mom's friends had a birthday this week and we're taking her out on Sat. She chose Bird-In-Hand buffet. Then we'll probably go down to Kitchen Kettke Village and some of the shops around there. It'll be nice just driving through the farmland. The Amish will probably be out a lot.

Nope, no real plans. I might get out to Target and check the dollar spot. And DD has left over money from her birthday that she wants to spend. Mall, maybe...I just don't know.

DH might actually have the whole weekend off. So, I'll be sending him outside to work on the truck. He can take the kids out with him too. I want to clean the kitchen. Really clean instead of the quick wipe down that happens everyday.

It's getting late. Need to get to bed. TGIF tomorrow.

Good morning! Its bright and sunny (so far) here in upstate NY, although the temps are not going to venture much above freezing. At least its trying to LOOK like spring!

Ah, Mariezp, there you are! I've been wondering where you've been. I should have known you were working on your trip! I've always wanted to rent a private house with a pool. Usually, though, its just BF and I travelling and a private home is just too extravagant for two people. Sorry to hear about the strange charges on your card. I feel your pain.

DL...you should totally try out for the Amazing Race! Just the experience would be cool! I've always wanted to try out. I'm a great traveller with a good sense of direction. I just can't swim or drive a stickshift, but I've seen other contestants learn to do stuff before going on the Race. Plus, I'd get to see Phil in real life. Yum!

I watched ER last night too! Its was nice to see Doug and Carol again. Benton had SO MUCH work done on his face! There's three more episodes left. I'm liking how they're wrapping up everything nice and tidy.

I watched the last half of Grey's too. It looks like they're going to kill off **** (in case someone didn't want to know). I'm glad. **** hasn't had a decent storyline in a while.

My computer is fixed! It was totally my fault it was messed up. Last week, when I messed up the Zune software, I forgot to change it froma clean startup to regular startup. It was so so slow! I thought I had a virus, but after running AVG, nothing was found. Got scared. Retraced my steps and figured it out. Staples is running a free PC checkup until April 4, and I'm taking my laptop in. I think he's scared to go to the doctor. But better to know that's something's wrong than to ignore it.

Still haven't bought my Disney tickets yet.... I'll wait until next week.
