Good afternoon all. It is snowing at a pretty good clip and is around 33*. I too will draw water to keep on hand for toilet flushing. I hope we won't have to use our new generator.

DH and I went shopping yesterday. I went to all of my usual haunts. He went to the snowmobile stores to check out the new sleds. He would like a new Yamaha 4 stroke. I got a good deal on some little athletic pants for the kids at Pikester's school. Hopefully the size I got will fit the kids in kindergarten and first grade. The seem to have accidents and have nothing to wear home. This way the school doesn't have to call there parents to come get them.

M&N~ I see that you are getting excited for March 18th. Please say hi to "MICKEY" for me.
disney54us~ Are you feeling better yet?
D&DDisney~ Have you started planting yet?
Bopsmom~ At least Pampered Chef is a good product.
My sister's princess~ Nice to see that your back. What part of Maine are you from, if you don't mind me asking.
MagiKitty~ A little fresh air helped me alot.
BKMETV~ Hope your weekend was good.
lighttech~ Hi and hugs back at you. Who am I now? :lmao: Do you folks have a generator?
racetrack~ Are you still taking it easy? I hope your guy wins.
DL55~ What have you been up to?
whgrn~ Chat when you can.

:confused3 I won't be weeding but I have a nice group of men coming next week. I am having a bunch of things taken out and moved around. Adding soil, etc.
We finally got some rain last week and the weeds have overtaken my ability to pull them. We haven't had a good rain since November and are in drought stage.

It is a little cooler today.

Hang in there-spring is coming.

A nice group of men? Aren't you the lucky one.;) Hope they're cute. I can picture it now... hot sweaty guys, shirts off, toiling away in your garden. :lmao: If they turn out to be not so cute, please don't tell me and ruin my fantasy.

Afternoon from the snowbelt! There must be a weatherman complain hotline, because one again they were so so wrong! There were concerns about slick conditions and about an inch of accumulation--we bypassed that by 9am! We're well on our way to 4 inches and its not looking like its going to stop anytime soon!
Big hugs and safe tidings for everyone! I'm not prepping for the race this afternoon, but looking forward to being catty and shallow about Oscar dresses tonight. I already have my Hershey Kisses out...its going to be a good night! Especially since I have decided to ignore the shoveling that needs to be done....

I see you got our snow too. Lucky you. Today the sun is out but it is not warm enough to melt those 4-5 inches we got. Had to go shovel/snow blow. :headache: I like your idea better.
Oscar party at Kitty's place   Have a good time!
Good afternoon all. It is snowing at a pretty good clip and is around 33*. I too will draw water to keep on hand for toilet flushing. I hope we won't have to use our new generator.
D&DDisney~ Have you started planting yet?

Another place that got our snow. How much did you get?
I haven't started planting yet. I did get some seeds for Black Eyed Susans, and other perenial flowers. Bag says to start flowers 8 weeks before planting. I guess I'll wait a week or so and then start them. We can't put anything in the ground here (safely) until mid-May. :sad2: I am VERY ANXIOUS though. :hyper:

Racetrack - If I had put Kyle in my line-up for today, I'd be rooting for him big time, to clinch the weekend. However, I'm going to have to hope for Carl Edwards to win 2 years in a row.

Hi to rest of the gang!

Yeah! If you're lazy for a long enough time, the plow man will come through and plow your driveway. Now I just have to convince myself to shovel the walkway and a path to the car...

Its a good day for soup. Too late to try to make some really good chunky homemade stuff, will search out what varieties come in cans in the cupboard.

Oh...D&D you just spiced up my afternoon with your talk of hunky gardeners fantasy. Yum.

Sukie...you're so kind to get pants for the little accidents in school. And a good shopper to boot!

Marie hasn't been on in a while. (Or did I miss her?)
Hope she's not sick too.

Magikitty - Enjoy those Kisses while ya can

- for Wed we begin the Lent fast!
Enjoy Fat Tuesday - Paczkis for all! My grandmother used to make the best Paczkis -.

This will be me in a couple of weeks.

I just noticed the ad for seed mats at the bottom of the page. Very clever marketing technique.

I just went out to take a measurement and so far we have a good 3" of snow.

D&DDisney~ We usually wait until after Memorial Day to plant. "Thanks Easter Bunny".

MagiKitty~ How well you know I love to get a good bargin. What flavor Kisses did you get?

Sukie, I'm going traditional and getting plain lovely Hershey Kisses. I also have pita crisps in the oven and egg salad chilling in the fridge, along with freshly brewed ice tea. It will be an Oscar bonanza! (Can you tell that BF has completely checked out from Oscar activities with me?)

Gosh! Forgot all about Lent...I guess I should have guessed from the sudden barrage of fish stick commercials...I have to think about this one. What will be my Lenten promise? I think it should do something with being lazy. I've been atrociously lazy since I got back.

My sister's princess~ Nice to see that your back. What part of Maine are you from, if you don't mind me asking.

I grew up on the coast, but live in the middle of the state now! Are you from Maine?

Anyone else getting snow tonight? We are supposed to get up to 20" so I am hoping for no school tomorrow. It isn't going to happen but a girl can dream right?

I have started packing for my trip (spring break) one week in SC with the sis, then on to the Bahamas on a cruise. I fully intend to put my new 21 status to use  :drinking1 ! But I will be good!

I just had to stop by and share some exciting news. As some of you may remember, my family went to WDW this past December 2008. We had decided that our next big family trip would be sometime in 2010, probably December, and would be going to Universal so we could check out the new Harry Potter land. Welllllll, DH and I were hanging out in the living room before dinner on Thursday and he asked me what I was thinking for our summer vacation. (He asked me what I was interested in doing a month or so ago so I've been looking into it.) I was thinking of going to Old Orchard, ME or even going to Lake George, NY; both places we have visited in the past. Then I brought up the idea of going to Hershey Park in PA. Since I know two people who have given it a :thumbsup2 I thought why not. The kids did a great job on the drive to WDW so a trip to PA from NH should be a breeze. DH was like hmmm. Then he said, I can't believe he said this, how about we take the money we would have spent on a summer vacation and put that towards going to WDW this December 2009! Sounds good to me!:woohoo: We are looking at 11/28/09-12/4/09 (Give or take a day). Not sure of all the details but we would be driving again and he wants to try the Quick Service Dining Plan. I think we will also stay at Pop again although I have been looking at All-Stars Music. Trying something different could be neat but I love Pop! I have been looking through my planning books and subscribing to the code watches. I just want to run with this but I am trying to contain my excitment a little so I don't get carried away if something comes up and we can't do it. I haven't told the kids yet that we are going. I think I'm going to keep it a surprise for now.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

lightech We are on a well also. Learned to keep an water cooler full of water "just in case" :headache:
I usually start filling up the bathtubs when they predict a storm. Then at least we have something to use to flush the tanks.

.
No generator. I'd love one, but its "on the list" for the moment, along w/ all the other home improvements we haven't gotten around to! :rotfl:
That was very thoughtful to buy those pants. Reminds me of something my MIL would do. She loves to buy things for people. Anything for any people! I know a lot of it is b/c she is so very nice and thinks of others, but I do think part of it is simply b/c she can't pass up a good bargain. Even if she can't benefit from it, she always knows someone who could!

Marie hasn't been on in a while. (Or did I miss her?)
Hope she's not sick too.

Enjoy Fat Tuesday - Paczkis for all! My grandmother used to make the best Paczkis -.
.
Are Paczkis anything like Faschnauts (sp?) - those flat donut-like things? I've never heard of them.

Well. I never. :snooty: Passing up a trip to Hershey Park in PA for a potential trip to Disney. Hmmph. The nerve of some people. :snooty:
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I kid b/c I love. I must admit I'm a bit disappointed you won't be visiting my home state! (And, I would keep Hershey in mind for some day... its a wonderful park.) But, :cool1: :woohoo: for you. How cool to have a Disney trip to plan!

Are Paczkis anything like Faschnauts (sp?) - those flat donut-like things? I've never heard of them.

Not sure what Faschnauts are but Paczkis are filled w/ fruit and are puffy. Sugar coating on the top.

Wish I would have started him for my fantasy racing pick, :sad1: but we'll still take the win! :cool1: :cool1:

I guess I will clam up about it being 70-80 degrees and sunny huh? :beach:

I decided to do a fund raiser for DD's Band. She is in a new academy and the Band doesn't know how to raise money. I am doing a Pampered Chef fund raiser for them---yes, I am crazy.

That's ok about the temp bragging. We're going up to 49 this week! It really won't be long before we complain about the heat. And you are a good mom to care about the band. You just raise all the $ you want...better than raising @#&&!

Okay I don't know how I messed that up so Hi MSP, glad your back.
MK glad that cough is getting better oh and don't worry about the :laundy:
I read that not doing laundry is a way to treat a cold:rotfl2:

I read not

was the way to avoid getting a cold! :lmao:

Yep, crazy if the verdict. I will be posting a link for the fundraising site for you all;) too. :rotfl:

Road trip!!!

You are so sweet to think of those poor little ones. Our school tries to have extras on hand too. I'll give him a hug from you too! I just can't wait to see his smile!

Great news! But does that mean no Hershey Park? That's sad for me. Thought we could meet up. Hopefully others can make it.

I already had a faschnaut but the real day is tuesday. They are like holeless donuts but they are to be made with lard so it's used up before lent. Of course nowdays they don't use lard and are just not the same. I'm in on the DIS NASCAR picks. We pick 5 and they have a point system. I did pick him as one of my choices...I even picked that next number guy too although I didn't want to. I was even worse and didn't pick my fav #88. It turns out I made good choices. Poor Jr! At least he didn't wreck this week.

It was good seeing some of you back...that sounds like it wasn't good to see some of you back. :rotfl: It was good to see some who haven't posted in a while back. Is that better? Anyway...Just love reading about everyone! How's that? :dance3: :dance3:

Good morning! MSP...get ready for a storm. Even my kooky, never-can-get-it-right weatherman is saying that the upper NE is going get whomped with this storm. Please be careful. Where are you staying in SC? I just found out a girlfriend from HS is in Myrtle Beach. I've never been, but she says she runs a spa, so that may be an incentive for a visit!

Ok, I'll cheer a bit that 17 won last night. I have no idea what that means, but yeah!

Congrats Pikester on the vacay news! I'm mid-planning a trip for my SIL and nieces in April and am surprised how well its going. I've gotten $59/OW flights, although with a layover in Philly. But I can put up with that for $40/pp in savings! I'm presently checking out prices for tickets. Its looking like Undercover Tourist offers the best rates. I've gotten a really good deal on a rental car. Now I just need to figure out lodging. There will be 5 of us, so I'm looking into a timeshare. Five girls and one hotel bathroom WILL NOT be fun!

With the April trip, I'm reconsidering bounceback. I want to upgrad to an AP, but BF isn't too keen on going in September. For now. I don't trust him. We have until mid-August to cancel and I'm holding onto that ressie! Knowing him, he'll ask about our plans AFTER I've already cancelled!

We don't have any special Mardi Gras pastries around here. I may have to make a pilgrimage to the bakery and make one up. Mmm...celebratory cannoli, anyone?

Hersheypark! Hersheypark! I'm still hoping for a TKers reunion this summer in the great state of PA. I know I could drive there, given a good set of directions. M&N has been talking about this Hershey Hotel buffet for so long...I need to experience it for myself! Chocolate! Mmm!

Good day all. Talk to you later and for those of you expecting the storm, buckle down and be safe!

Good morning everyone. :)
D&DDisney Loved the chocolate bunny eating smilie.
Pikester A possible trip to Disney :cheer2: Good luck keeping it from the kids.
No snow here (or rain) going to be 72 today. :duck:
Dh is going to meet his brother in Arizona to watch spring break. It will be mid March. I plan to be on the DIS at night while he's gone. Will be able to chat with you ladies.

Does anyone have a 2009 Entertainment book? I was wondering if there's a US Airways coupon in there. If so, I may want to look into buying one. Is there anyway of checking if a coupon is in the book before you buy?

Hello fellow TKers! Greetings from sunny Lawrenceville, NJ, and the luxury resort of St. Lawrence Rehab Center.

I am doing amazingly well!! After one really painful night, when my epidural fell out and I was pumping painkellers into my bed instead of my bod, I have been pretty comfortable thanks to my good buddy Percocet. Not pain free, but not too bad. You have to expect some pain after major surgery!!

I have been unable to get online since I got here Saturday, as the wifi does not seem compatible with my laptop. So this morning I finally got my modem up and running and I'm using the dialup connection. Slow, but quite acceptable. I was able to access Facebook via my cell phone, so that's why my updates came through on there.

My roommate is an 85 year old dynamo. I just love her!! We had a blast last night dissing all the dresses at the Oscars, and discussing the fact that Angelina Jolie is NOT all that!:lmao: The nursing staff has improved dramatically in the last 14 years!! Sadly, the food has not. But Mom is bringing me lunch every day, and I brought everything I need for my breakfasts, so I only have to deal with one meal a day from them.

I am thrilled and surprised with how well I am doing. I am walking very well with a walker, and it isn't even too painful! I can even get in and out of bed by myself. I am grateful for every minute I spent at the gym working out and getting my legs stronger. It has really paid off big time. I have PT twice a day for an hour, AM and PM, and OT for an hour in the mornings. Today I climbed about 4 steps and it was easy! I am using the knee machine that bends and extends your knee automatically. I call it the rack. 2 hours, 3 times a day. Last time I never got beyond 80 degrees. Yesterday and Saturday I got to 100 degrees!! I WILL ride a bike next year!!!

I forgot to multiquote, so I can't remember everything I wanted to say. But lighttech, I laughed my head off at your BL poop story! Isn't it amazing how far a tiny body can spew bodily fluids??:lmao:

So, some lucky people are planning WDW trips. Wish I was, but not anytime soon. I am determined that my next trip I will WALK through the park, so I have to wait until my knees are totally healed. I can't imagine why anyone would pass up HersheyPark for WDW...:confused3 :lmao:

Ah, Faschnact day!!! How I LOVE those things! I went to school in Allentown, PA and that was always a big deal. I don't "do" Lent, so I don't worry about giving anything up.

Well, Mom is here to visit, so I gotta go. Chat later.

whgrn So glad to hear from you! :cheer2: Yea for PT, you'll be walking normal in no time. :cloud9: :flower3:

Just bopping in here quick to congratulate M&N.

She won on this weeks Dis NASCAR racing competition.

:cheer2: :cheer2: CONGRATS M&N!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi all:

I was stranded at my sister's place on the weekend...quite the blizzard went through. We came home this morning so the kids missed a couple of hours of school. Best part was I crashed an Oscar Party my sister was going to and ended up winning the picks pool. :cool1: Don't think I'll be invited next year.:rotfl:

Hi Wendy! Glad to see you checked in. It sounds like you're rocking rehab. You go girl! Sorry about the food, but did you really think THAT improved? Glad you liked your roomie...makes things so much better. You keep going!

Congrats M&N on the win! And Ev won too! I think the TKers should go out and buy lotto tix! It seems to be our week!

Sorry you got stranded Ev, but at least you were stranded with family and not somewhere unfamiliar. And you seemed to benefit from it!

Hugs Racetrack! How you feeling?

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FONTANA WINNER - - M & N !!!
WOW!! WHAT A GREAT SCORE TOO!!
Some great picks for sure!! Congrats again!!

The Fontana order of finish is:

1. M & N (19) 3.8 THREE POINT EIGHT!!!

I won the NASCAR pics! I can't believe it! It just pained me not to pick JR though. Thanks for the encouragement Racetrack. I am glad I don't have to congrat you for Little Shrub winning all 3 races. 2 should be plenty. (I was going to say 2 was 2 too many but trying to be nice. :rotfl: ) I did put him in my 5 picks and not JR.
