Jeez Wendy you can't get anything else!!!!! You would think that Ichy and toothache are the limit for the misery meter.:sad2:

Be careful-take it easy at the gym-if you are fighting an infection.

Have you change perfume, soaps, lotions or laundry products lately??? I've even have hairspray/styling products cause me to get hives.

whgrn, I'd send you some pixie dust but I'm afraid it might add to your problems. :lmao: How about a hug instead?

Racer
You have to tell me about Universal Studios. Have you been before? I was considering a day there this next trip. Where do you stay? I heard something about getting front of line passes if you stay a certain place=does that make sense?:confused3

Oh Wendy-forgot this:hug: in the last post.:goodvibes

Hugs around for everyone!

(I just need to make it to the airport and get out of the country before the freeze hits)

Haven't changed ANYTHING! Don't use perfume, and i use unscented, hypoallergenic laundry soap. I've used the same skin cream for years. No change in soap either. I can't imagine what it could be, other than the dairy possibility. Or just stress.

This is NOT shaping up to be a good year!

And, as if all this isn't enough, my ex actually called me today and asked for a loan! (and not a small one either) Seems he's got himself in a bit of a pickle finanacially. So, what am I, a bank? Anyway, I did what any kind, sympathetic ex-wife would do--I referred him to an excellent credit counseling firm! I'm hoping the fact that I will not give him the loan is not going to make things uncomfortable between us. It's not that I don't want to help him, but I don't feel this is appropriate. The fact is, while I'm still financially secure, I've lost alot in this economic mess, and i've got 2 kids to worry about! It's gonna be interesting seeing him on Wednesday when he comes to get the kids...

Ay, yi, yi, it's always something!

Thanks for the    everyone!

Racetrack, the pixiedust:: would probably just make me sneeze!

You go girl.:thumbsup2
One of you has to stay solvent $$wise and since you have the kids it falls to you.
I know you feel sorry about his troubles but they are his troubles. I am sure he will figure his way out of them without your financial support.
Loaning him money would be putting too much into one basket-if the problem doesn't turn around and he can't pay you back and the kids and you might have to do without.
EDIT:
Don't worry about Wednesday-hold your ground. You have every right to refuse-you aren't his wife anymore. You are doing what is best for his kids by keeping financially secure.

Bopsmom, everything I know about Universal, I've learned from Magikitty. She rocks on the info. :thumbsup2 We are staying at the Hard Rock Hotel which is one of the Universal Hotels. There is also the Royal Pacific and Portifino Bay Resorts. If you stay at any one of them, you get Front of the Line passes. Picture unlimited fast passes whenever and as often as you like. You can also purchase as express pass which is good for one time through the express line for whichever rides offer it.

The front of the line pass is tied to your hotel key and not your park admission. It is good from the time you check in until park closing of your check out day.

We've never been before but my BIL lives in Florida and recommends it to us. And from what I have read, it seems to be a very relaxing time. You don't need to make ADR's months in advance....a day will do in most instances. It just seems like you can really go with the flow there.

whgrn, you did exactly the right thing. His money problems are not your problem.

Thanks
I think I will look those up. We are staying fewer days at WDW but since we are driving again maybe I can throw in a day or so at Universal.:thumbsup2

Bopsmom, there is a whole section on the dis dealing with Universal. The main posters over there seem nice and they have been helpful with a couple of questions I have needed answered. Lots of stickies at the top of each section with all kinds of info.

Good morning everyone! They're claiming its going to snow later today, but it looks like it could start any moment now. Its that strange grey and its really quiet. Uh-oh.

Wendy, another vote of support from me! I'm sure it must have been a difficult decision for your ex to ask you for help, but your responsibilities are to look out for the kids first. In these economic times, you really have to be defensive about money. I hope things aren't too awkward when you see each other. I'm sure once he sits down and really thinks about he'll completely understand your POV.

I also agree with Racetrack...the US boards are a small group, but really friendly. Once in a while you're get a troll bad mouthing US, but aside from that, there are some insiders and some real US pros. Isn't it exciting to plan for a new venue? I really like US/IOA, although BF isn't as thrilled. But we're going to see Harry Potter, so he just has to put up with it! I'm hoping giving US a second chance will bring him to the "dark side" as some people call US...

My, my you've all been busy since last night.
I should have jumped on... so much for my night of sleep. Woke up w/ BL at 1:30. (Don't know why, but of course once he was up he wanted to nurse.) I realized it seemed kind of cold, so I asked DH to check downstairs since I was occupied. Our oil tank was EMPTY! (We're on autodelivery, so I never check.) Had DH call emergency oil number and sent him back to bed since he's still sick. Then I waited up for the oil guy to give us a few gallons and he also had to clean the filter/pump, etc. since we'd sucked all the sludge out of the bottom. Finally made it back to bed at 4am. DS3 got up w/ a nightmare at 5. Went back to bed at 5:15 and then BL got up at 6.
Is coffee the same as sleep? Because I'm using them interchangeably today! :rotfl2: :surfweb:

Hope you all get better Lightech.
I know down here there is a lot of flu N1H1 (?) going around that wasn't covered by flu shots and needs something other than Tamiflu antiviral to stop.

It stinks when you are outnumbered by sickies:hug:
-I don't know if you posted or I missed it but what was the call for your illness strep or mono?

Actually, after all that, it was neither. It just went away. But, the doc did find an iron deficiency that could have turned into anemia if it wasn't put in check. So, I'm on supplements now. Turns out the whole thing may have been a blessing in disguise.

lighttech, It's making the rounds the same way it does here. Try to take it easy even though it's hard. I've been dying my hair about that long too. Early gray runs on my dad's side of the family. Along with huge honking noses. I got the gray, my brother got the nose. Mines cheaper to fix so I won't complain. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

LITC, I wish I could be there. But I booked the reservations for Universal and now DH gets to spend the same amount of money on his truck this weekend. I won't see him at all.

We usually try to see concerts at our local fair that's around labor day. Prices are still really reasonable there since it so small. Once in a while, we will head out to Reading which has a small arena too.

Thanks. I got the grey AND the schnoz. But, everyone's got their thing. The grey is easily fixed, and I've just always hated my nose... not the end of te world though. I'm sure if I liked my nose, I'd probbaly just focus on something else.

MK - I don't know when you're leaving, but have a wonderful and safe trip!

Wendy - You definitely did the right thing. Money and family is tough enough. I can only imagine money and exes!

Ok, I've stolen enough time. Gotta get back to the baby and the little sickie. (DH headed back to work today. He is feeling much better, and we are wondering if maybe it was actually food poisoning.)

Oh, and sorry for the typos, I'm rushing and not paying full attention.

lighttech, I hope I didn't offend you. :flower3: Sounds like you had an eventful night. Try to nap with the kiddie today.

Magikitty, we are suppose to get snow starting tomorrow, I think. We still have the leftover snow from the weekend except now it's frozen into solid ice everywhere.

GGRRRRRRR!!!!

I had this really nice post and hit a key on the computer and GONE!!!!! Let me see if I can remember what I wrote.

racetrack: Didn't know Grease was on. We have it on DVD so I watch it when I'm in the mood.

Bopsmom: My family has plans to go to Universal in 2010(December?). I agree with Magikitty and racetrack that the Uni board on the DIS is very friendly and helpful.

whgrn: I think you did the right thing regarding your Ex. Lending money to "family" even if he is Ex is never a good idea unless you are giving it to them as a gift and don't expect to get it back. Pus it sets you up for him to ask for more in the future.

lighttech: Glad to hear DH is feeling better. WOW on the oil running out! We've been close before but have never had it down to sludge. I hope they didn't charge you for an Emergency or something since they are suppose to be keeping and eye on it for the automatic delievery.

Magikitty: I can't believe you'll be leaving in just a few days! Have a good time and enjoy the warm weather. (I HATE YOU! :rotfl: )

LITC: Cool on Billy Joel and Elton! My favorite song from Billy is Piano Man.

Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright

Have a good day!

Oh, Lighttech, it sounds like you had a rough night! Hope you can sneak in some naps today. We've had the oil run out too, and also had to have the sludge pumped out. Ugh! So frustrating. We don't have automatic delivery, its just a matter of realizing....when did we get oil last? and then someone has to go down to the basement and look at the oil gadge...

My driveway is atrocious. We pay a guy to come plow the snow, but he came early in the storm over the weekend and never came back to finish the job properly. Its the point where the snow is being compacted and further adding to the ice beneath it. And then we're just going to add some snow to all that mess! I'm looking forward to not wearing three layers and a hat and gloves. But I do enjoy wearing boots..

OMG! NO! :rotfl: I can only assume you mean about the nose thing. :rotfl: First of all, I'm not at all easily offended. Second of all, I majored in both Lighting design and performance and have had my fair share of physical evaluation (part of our senior class was "career prep" and we had to realistically evaluate our own looks and those of our peers to see what kind of roles we would have a shot auditioning for. Sounds harsh, but real world acting is even more so. My prof. told me flat out that if I wanted to pursue television acting instead of stage, although my skill level was there, my looks weren't for a leading lady. I should focus on "the quirky neighbor" type roles. It was hard to hear, but its true. You learn to get a thick skin in that kind of career.) And third, if I was honestly offended by someone mentioning someone else's nose, let alone my own, I think I'd have much bigger problems! :lmao: Please don't worry yourself. :flower3:

OK, had to take a potty break w/ DS and now I can't remember anything else I was going to say. Sorry. I know I missed a bunch of you...

Ggggoood Mmmmornnning!:cold:

This weather is crazy. So frigid cold. Hard to believe on Friday that 10 will feel like a heat wave. :cold:

Lighttech - about the oil running out. Sorry you didin't get much sleep last night.

Keep that coffee coming!

Stay warm everybody!!!

Morning all:

Boy you guys sure chatted a lot last night. It's storming pretty good here , very windy, and later today we get the cold weather from D&D...thanks btw.:rotfl:

Ev, I gave you my address, right? Just send it to me, no rush though. My Dad is heading to the Phils the first week of March so I can send it with him then....

Yup I've got your address...I'll send it on. You're sure your Dad won't mind?

Bopsmom - LOVED the Hema website...I'll have to show the kids when they get home

I love that movie to, it was released the year I was born.

OK thanks for making me feel old!!

Lighttech...finally figured out what you do...now your siggie makes total sense...hope you get a nap today...and yes sometimes coffee is the only thing that helps.

Yup. Lighting Design for theatre and tv. (Although only tv these days. I used to freelance in addition to my regular job. But now w/ the kids, although we could always use the money, the time at home is way more precious to me.) I forget how much I missed while I was on maternity leave. There's a lot of you guys that I never "officially met."

Hi. My name is Lighttech. I've been a threadkiller for quite some time now. (I even posted on the first page of the original thread :scared1: ) I have 2 boys (3.5yrs and 4.5months) plus my DH. I like chocolate, snuggling up with a good book, long walks and naps... all of which I traded in for my kids! :rotfl: (Well, ok, not the chocolate, although if I ever want to finish losing my "baby weight" I should. :rotfl: ) I'm a little bit nuts - especially late at night or when not sleeping - and I spend my free time typing to a bunch of cool gals I met on a Disney trip planning board! :surfweb:

There, now we're official! ;)
