I would try to use the coupon online. They are having lots of sales right now, I think both online and in store, so it very well would be worth a shot.

Evening ladies:

Thought I'd check in before I head to bed. My family was all here today to celebrate my niece's birthday (it's a long story how I ended up being the hostess)...but we survived. I'm exhausted and the head cold is getting worse so I think I'll head to bed early with a hot toddy.

My travel agent called the other day just to finalize things...I can't believe how fast time has gone! I really have to get on top of things and prepare the stuff here for while I"m away. I've been hoarding cat food and litter in preparation. I've gotten my bills ready.

I'm getting excited though. Especially to get out of this weather! I can't wait to see the house, the beach, and prep to see all the little kids. I have to get a larger SD card for my camera. I'm not bringing my laptop, so I'll have to go to a computer cafe to get my Dis fix though!

I can't believe your leaving soon and I forgot to mail the box of stuff to you...is it too late to send it, are you already packed to the gills??

Oh Ev, don't you worry about anything! And take care of that headcold too...its just the crazy holidays. Don't fret about the box. If you still want to send it, just take your time. As I said, I'm always in the process of putting together a box!

I'll send it this week...the kids keep asking me who the bag with the smartie boxes is for? so they'll be disappointed if it doesn't end up going with you.

I am going to sign off for awhile. I hope to come back in a bit. My computer is moving so slowly I just can't take it. Talk to you all later!

I think it's the DIS that's slow. My computer is naturally slow but tonight I could not get on here. I tried 3 times and it finally came up. I got on other sites ok.
MagiKitty--Time is certainly going fast. It's going to seem like forever for you to be gone though. I'm sure the time will go faster for you than us here waiting to hear about it. You'll probably be so excited and busy, you won't miss the Mouse that much! I'm reading a time-travel romance. I don't know where it came from. Friends pass these books around. The hero live now but was getting a deep depression and found how to hypnotize himself to go back to former life as a knight so it goes back and forth like that. It's 2003 copyright date.
I thought I saw the new WW commercial but didn't see the Hunger guy. I'll have to look again for it. I went online to see about their new program. It seemed like they were stressing better choices for the points. I need to get back in Jan.
The eating of 13 round things was interesting. The first thing that came to mind, of course, was donuts. You could have a bakers dozen! :woohoo:

Good Evening ladies!

Seems like a quiet night tonight. I noticed that the DIS was running a little slow tonight but now it seems to be working for me.

Hey Magikitty, I can't believe how close your trip is getting! I hope you're are able to find time to check in with the DIS so we can hear what you are up to.

I have to agree with you about the Hunger Monster on that WW commercial. He is really cute! He kind of reminds me of that big red Monster on the Bugs Bunny cartoons. What is his name? Oh yeah, Gossamer!

Happy New Years Eve day everyone! The snow is really coming down out there...we're expecting 5-6 inches and I think we're going to get that. Its the wet heavy type of snow that becomes really slippery, so those of us in the northeast (and anywhere that snow may be an issue) be extra careful out there!

I've started my 13 round foods...I've eaten half a bagel with some blueberries. Doughnuts are a good suggestion! I'm planning for some round ravioli for lunch.

Pikester, I am truly impressed that you remembered the name of that other red monster! And glad that you too have seen the WW commercial. It seemed that I was the only one who had and I was beginning to wonder if I had made it all up!

M&N....your book sounds like that movie Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. I love that movie. So romantic and the music is just gorgeous. I always wanted to go to Makinaw (sp?) Island to see that hotel.

LITC...I got that Borders coupon in my email today! Its totally a sign. I'll have to go "browse" online later on...

Have a good day everyone! Enjoy the last day of 2008!

Oh! I just found out that the community where we're building our house in the Phils has a website. If anyone's bored today, check out where I'm going to be in a few weeks! Our house isn't posted there yet (check out the photo gallery) we haven't finished the outside yet! Its http://www.sanantonioresortvillage.com/

Wow MagiKitty---Everything looks so green and clean. I love the sky. Thanks for sharing the site. No need to miss the mouse with those palm trees. :woohoo:

Just want to mention that the Travel Channel has Disney on tonight. I just saw it on tv. The show at 11 is the holiday one with Samantha Brown. I'm not sure if it's a new one. I just saw fireworks. It sounded like there was more on before 11 too. I will have to switch to Times Square to see their new ball drop too.

I'm going to lunch at a favorite place in Hershey with friends. It has a yummy turkey sandwich with cranberry relish in it. It's just a little place that reminds me of being at Cape May. Then it's on to Mom's. I feel like I've lived there the past 3 weeks. I teased her I saved on heating my house.

It's really gotten windy here. There a a few flakes falling but we are not to get any today. Maybe snow or rain Friday.

Have a safe and healthy New Year.

Morning all:

Good luck on the 13 round edibles MK...sound like a neat thing to do.

We are off to friend's for our annual New Years dinner...I'm in charge of appetizers. I'm thinking bacon wrapped waterchestnuts, devilled eggs and warm Brie with crackers...that should ensure that people can find at least one thing they like.

Have a great day....and if I don't make it back today...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Happy New Year's Eve Everyone!

I got the Webber on the patio and am just about set for tonight's meals.

Evening ladies! And I did get some of those candy cane kisses! I can't wait to taste one later!

No real plans for the New Year. Except have to wear polkadots and eat round food, preferably 13 in total: 1 for each month of the year plus one. The roundness represents good health and wealth in the new year. Plus my twins are New Years babies--they're turning 18! Ack! When did that happen?

You're going to love those kisses. And...they are round so you can have one today! I like the round theme. I'm not wearing round stuff today, but I did eat round this morning... Cherrios and an orange. That's 2 w/ 11 to go. Maybe I should have bought a "round steak" in stead of the NY strip I splurged on, for tonight's meal. :scratchin

I'm exhausted and the head cold is getting worse so I think I'll head to bed early with a hot toddy.

Sounds like a good remedy Ev.

My brother made those bacon/waterchestnuts for Christmas. Very yummy!

I have seen the WW Hunger monster. He is cute and does look like Gossimer!! I thought of that right away too.

I'm with y'all on eating better in the new year. I went grocery shopping yesterday and bought mostly produce and healthy stuff....oh, and a bag of Lays BBQ chips. (Can't eat ALL healthy stuff - right??:confused3 ) So I'm in for the weight loss / healthy new year's resolutions. What will we call our group???
Whgrn...what should we name your soldiers??? You are our leader right?

Happy New Year everyone! party: :drinking1 :tilt:
Well another year, another diet. :(
Sounds like my dryer is about to go out on me. Another new noise has developed. It is 16 years old. I would like to get a new washer at the same time so they match. My frugal side says the washer is working (only 10 years old) so just buy the dryer. :rolleyes1

DL55...when my brother bought a new house, it came with a new washer/dryer set. So he gave his old (3years?) washer to me. So now I have two washers, and one dryer. I can't run all three at once, but I do run two washers at a time, and then both loads go into the dryer. Its absolutely wonderful. I can also pre-soak one load and run the other. Makes laundry so much easier for me!

D&D...its warm enough there to grill out on the patio!?

I'll have to try these waterchestnuts in bacon. I do an almond stuffed into a date, then wrapped in bacon. I also do it in a convection oven so most of the bad stuff drips to the bottom. Its an imitation of a dish from my favorite tapas place in DC. And the smell while its cooking! Yummy!

I can't wait for the Travel Channel programming tonight! I like to watch the year in review stuff, but there doesn't seem to be too much of that going on this year.

OK, somehow I missed the reason we are eating round foods, but here goes:

Breakfast: cheerios
blueberries

Lunch: pizza
M&Ms

I baked a bundt cake for tonite, that's round! And there will be chocolate chips in the ice cream, they're round on the bottom. Water isn't round, but it comes in a round bottle. Grapes are round and so is pineapple, and little franks that go in the blankets. Chicken nuggets are sort of round-ish.

Hmmm, that's only 11. We have to have 13? Guess I'd better look for some more round things to eat...Oh, mango! A mango is round (well, more oval, but round-ish. So that's 12.

Off in search of #13.

Meanwhile

:hourglass: :pixiedust: party: :drinking1

Happy New Year!!

D&D...its warm enough there to grill out on the patio!?

Regardless of weather, I always grill out on NYE. One year it was snowing quite a bit - but the snow melted nicely around the grill, so no biggie.
This year it is very cold (around 11 degrees I think) but I only run out there to get the grill started, then to flip the meat.

Hey, when you live in a climate where 9 months of the year are bad weather, you learn to improvise where needed. ;)

DL55 - Sorry about your dryer. Sounds about right though. Just when you think everything is okay....

Magikitty! That village looks fabulous!!!

Strangely, I had round food today too!

Eggo whole grain waffle for breakfast with cream cheese (not a big syrup eater)
Pizza for lunch
haven't had dinner yet cause I am not hungry lol
