Pepper: Keeping our fingers cross that you get good news about your Dad.

No time to read... boss in the room. But, have any of you every had mono? Went to doc this morning for what I thought was strep, and he sent me for bloodwork cuz he thinks i have mono.

Kind of wondering what I'm in for and panicking about how it will affect my work and mothering... :sad2:

(I did look everything up online and such, but I thought personal experience might be a better guage. I'm really worried about what happens if I have to take a few weeks off of work. And, how I'm going to keep up with DS3 and BL if I've got it. I never thought I'd say this, but keep your fingers crossed for strep!)

Pepper--praying for Dad

Racetrack--glad things are better with DS

Lighttech--praying for strep! (yes, that does seem weird) I SO hope you don't have mono. It is NOT fun. You will miss alot of work, and will be useless at home too.

Well, despite splurging a little on Christmas Day and A LOT on New Years Eve, I managed to lose almost a pound this week!:cool1: So only 7 pounds to go.:)

Time to go make dinner. WHERE did today go????

Hi everyone. Long time, no chat. Our Christmas Holiday was nice and quiet. New Years was relaxing with snacks and movies.

The days between Christmas and New Year were very busy here at the house of Sukie. I didn't know how difficult it was to buy a set of tires. What ever happened to the days when you went to the garage and got tires. We have searched all the avenues that we can come up with. From Consumer Reports to TireRack and even Wal-mart. I have a 2006 Toyota Rav4, limted, 4cyl. 4wd. All of this info is giving my DH a major headache. Just ask me what size tires do I have? I have looked it up so many times its one of those numbers I won't likely to forget. What size tires do you have?

I went back to get caught up with all of the posts. Those that were ill, I hope all is well now. From planning new vacations to "crock pots" to "strep throat". How do we all do it. MOMS ROCK.

BMETV: I finally saw our picture. We all looked happy to be at the "Happiest place on earth".

marie: To stay home and relax is my kind of day too.

D&DDisney: What kind of a grill do you have?

Whgrn: Glad your "New Years Eve" was a sucess. Congrats on the weight loss. I think it came over to me.

LITC: Being together is what counts.

Racetrack18kb: I hope that DS will soon realize what he has.

MSP: Glad your Holiday Season was great.

DL55: What kind of a "Party Animal" are you?

Pepper: Sending thought and prayers your way.:grouphug:

225/65R17 tire size. Told you I wouldn't forget.

Chat next time.

Evening all:

Enjoyed a great day...stayed in my jammies until 4, then DD and I went out to dinner. The boys went to Toronto to the Motorcycle show and didn't get home until 6:30.

I've had mono twice...both times got in when I was overtired and stressed out. First time when I was Maid of Honour for my sister, the second when my Dad died. I tend to get abnormal symptoms: no swollen glands, but burning a low grade fever 101* and felt like a was hit by a truck. First time I was still working & had no kids, took about a month off work, but then I had sick benefits and could do that with pay. Second time I was a SAHM with 2 little kids, so I just carried on the best I could...lots of early nights. It takes a long time before you feel better again. I hope it's strep too...then you should be fine in a couple of weeks.

False alarm guys! DH DID NOT CHANGE THE PAPER TOWEL ROLL! I should have known! He fessed up that my son was the real one I needed to be proud of. I am! Because he actually is considerate enough sometimes to do those sort of things. Maybe he took after me after all!

I spent most of the morning working on my trip report. Long isn't it, whgrn? Thanks for reading! I must have done a fair job to get you asking questions about Disneyland! Have you ever been before? I'd be more than happy to help with any questions you might have if I happen to know the answer! BTW, your New Year's Eve sounds like our kind of night... doing something fun with the kids and no alcohol required. I have got to find time to get over and read your Scotland report!

Spent the afternoon cleaning boxes left over from Christmas off our front porch. Then I drug all my decoration totes back into the house from the garage so I can start taking down all the stuff. Dh says we are expecting an ice storm Sunday evening so I thought I would get the boxes in here just in case the mood strikes me to get the house back to normal. It was warm enough today to work in the yard some so I cut back some dead canna leaves and cleaned up the flower bed a bit. I also got my bird feeders refilled! Hardly made a dent in everything that needs to be done but it was a little something and I was sure tired by the time I got through.

racetrack18kb, I am glad DS seems to be readjusting to life back at home with you well. And DH washing dishes for you! Sounds like life is pretty good at your house right now. I would faint if DH ever did that for me!

pepperw23, I'll put in my prayer for your dad.

D&DDisney, thanks for the thumbs up on Bolt. DD is really wanting to go see it.

lighttech, Here's hopin for strep!

BKMETV, all day jammies... sounds like my kind of day!

Hello to everyone I missed! Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Thanks. That seems to be typical. I really had just started getting sleep again. (BL is 4 mos old) and then I pushed myself way too hard over the holidays and hardly slept at all for a week or so.

I've got the fever, a wicked sore throat like I've never felt before and swollen glands. At the moment, the fatigue isn't too bad. Just like I'm run down from a cold. I just don't know if I should expect it to get worse, or level off after the fever and sore throat calm down.

ahhhh... "what doesn't kill us", I suppose...

I'm curious about the work thing. If it does turn out to be mono, I suppose I'll have to contact HR. I only get 1 week of sick time, and since it accumlates as the yr goes on and I've already used last years for my Maternity leave, I don't have any. But, I'm not sure if a longer illness like that would qualify for Short Term Disability. I have to remember to take one thing at a time here... trying to do too much is what probably got me into trouble in the first place.

Hey racetrack! Hi Pikester! I hardly ever catch you guys on here anymore!
I'm on lunch at work, so I don't know how long I'll be around...

I live in a dorm, and they send girls back here to live with mono, said that as long as they are careful to to share drinks, makeup, ect they won't spread it. I will be praying for you and I hope all comes out well!

Thanks. Yeah, I've heard its actually pretty difficult to spread. It CAN be spread by sneezing and coughing, but its rare. I've been doing a lot of reading up, and one thing I keep reading is that its not necessary to "isolate" the person, and roomates are not really at risk. (as long as you don't share drinks, etc. like you said.) Thanks for the good thoughts!

lighttech, I wish I could help with the mono info but I've never had it (knock on wood). Feels funny typing this but I'll keep my fingers crossed that you have strep. When are you suppose to get the results of the blood work?

Monday. I got the bloodwork Friday morning, but b/c of the weekend, the results won't get to the office until Monday.

Never in my life have I seen this many people hoping someone has strep :lmao:

Yeah, well we are a little odd around here. But in a good way. :lmao:

lighttech, I saw loss of appetite is one of the symptoms. Has that happened too? Oh yeah, how is BL doing? Any more problems with the fever? Did you go out to breakfast that day?

BL is doing great. Yes, we did go to breakfast and everyone had a fine time.

Yeah, I've got no appetite whatsoever. I'm forcing myself to eat a little soup and at least drink a lot of juice... I need to keep my calories up a little to keep making milk for the little guy.

I've been jokingly saying that at least I might lose the rest of the baby weight. ;) But this is so NOT the diet plan I was hoping for.

I need Avatar help!! I am trying to upload my own from photobucket. I know it is the right size, but when I put in the URL it says it is invalid, anyone know how to do this?
