Four-mer TKers...4 one, 4 all, 4 ever

Oh this isn't invitation only. We're just not used to a hit and run. :goodvibes Just come back and say hi, we love to chat. :wave2:

Hi every one :wave2: Nothing exciting here except a police standoff. After four years of not paying his mortgage (?) a man fires on the sheriff delivering the eviction notice. The stand off took 14 hours, it didn't have a happy outcome. :sad2: Suspect suicide.

Was this a neighbor? Pretty scary. How can you think it's ok to not pay your mortgage for four years then take it out on the people doing there jobs to get you out of the dwelling? :confused3

Good evening TKers!

I hope some of you who have been sick are feeling better by now. Seems to be a lot of it going around here too but so far I have missed catching it.
knockonwood.gif
Every time we go to Jiu-Jitsu class I am amazed at the people who go ahead and bring their kids even when they are sick. :sad2:

My sister's princess, be sure to give us a report! I just purchased our tickets yesterday for when Disney on Ice comes to our area in March. I've never seen one of the shows so I am really excited!

I know some of you really don't want to hear it but our weather was nice enough today that I actually got to work outside in my yard. (even though I have plenty that I needed to be doing inside.) I finished cleaning up one flowerbed and it looks so purty! Unfortunately, everywhere I look there is another project that needs my attention. Oh well, I have gotten 2 done so far so that's a start. I trimmed up the lantana bed so I guess I'll see if it was what made me all itchy last time. So far no itchies!

I saw that ya'll were talking about some places to eat at WDW. Do ya'll have any favorite recommendations? I've started compiling notes... just in case. Also, at WDW can you still find somewhere to eat even if you don't have previous reservations or are they practically something that's mandatory?

Man I hate it when people take sick kids out. Some people just have NO common sense.
As far as ADR's at WDW they are pretty much mandatory for most restaurants although with the way the economy is going if people continue to decrease travel you may get lucky. Chef Mickeys is our favorite breakfast, Le Cellier was a really awesome meal the one time we got in there. As far as counter service Pecos Bills has some awesome burgers, and a fixin's bar. Do they have turkey legs in DL? We have to get one every trip. Also in MK Auntie Gravity's has some awesome frozen drinks.

Thank you both.:grouphug: I told DD what ya'll said...:goodvibes

I was pissed at the mom-a person I considered a friend for years but has decided that her DD can do no wrong and that this behavior is ok-I guess the Bi%*h acorn didn't fall far from the tree.
She wants her daughter to be popular at school and thinks being mean is the way to go about it.
Funny since she is asking that we sponser activities for her DD and her family since we have the time, money, pool, conections to do things. They don't and always say ...'well you guys have $$$ you should give more' we always felt guilty and caved but now I see this as another reason to get rid of them.

I think DD rocked and was so happy to indulge her-she called yesterday "Punk your daughter day". I was a punker and so was her late uncle-Grandma says she was so proud and it gave her an 80's flashback to me and my DB.:)

That's awesome that your DD was so strong. I don't think I would have had the guts to go in.
As far as the mother I sure would use the next thing she asked for as a perfect excuse to throw this back in the B****s face. "You know I would like to sponsor someone, maybe I should sponsor someone whosse daughter isn't a complete a**hole-just like mommy dearest!?!?!?!?!?

How did I miss the posts about Disney on Ice? :confused3 We took our little ones 2 years ago to the Princess one. It was incredible. I had tears in my eyes watching the girls. They were just so excited. But a word of warning, it does get cold in there. Bring a sweatshirt, sweater or light jacket.

Marie, if you decide to go to WDW, definitely make ADRs as soon as you can. Check the restaurant board for lots of tips. I also think the best menus are on http://allears.net/index.html My DH loves to eat at Ohanas at the Poly. Coral Reef in Epcot is pretty awesome too but it can get kind of loud in there.

:flower3: Good morning ladies. DH and I went to do our morning food and errend run to Wal-Mart. We stopped and got a breakfast sandwich at McDonalds. Getting in the car I was almost bombarded by a bird flying real close to my head. We both started to laugh and looked up in the trees. There were 5 robins just sitting there. They sounded real spring like.

Bopsmom~ Wow what a mature daughter you have. You can tell that she is way above the rest. I am so glad that "little twits" plan backfired. :cheer2: Hale, you go girl. :furious: If you need for all of us to come out there, Just give a yell! By the way cool outfit.

chat later

Just stopping by real quick. DH took DS out for a "guys morning" to go bowling w/ DH, 2 of his friends (close enough DS calls them Uncle), BIL and FIL. DS is pretty excited. BL just went down for a nap. I have a million chores calling, but I couldn't not check in w/ my TKers! :cool1:

What kind of stuff do you like? Would you rather hit buffets, sit down dinners, or counter service grab and go kind of stuff? For buffet, I love Crystal Palace in MK, the food is great, and its a character lunch w/ Winnie the Pooh and friends. I loved Raglan's in DTD if you make it over there. Great atmosphere too, Irish Pub style w/ live music some nights. In Epcot, I think Germany is my favorite (also buffet). Again, the food is good, but I mostly love the live music, and they seat you at large tables even ifyour party is small. I'm not usually much of a talker w/ people I don't know (Dis board excepted :lmao: ) but, w/ Disney goers, it seems to be diff't. It was fun chatting w/ people from other parts of the country. Pizza Planet in MGM was nothing special, but it was good food, and I thought a pretty good deal. We got a lot of bang for our buck there.

Sunny w/ temps up to around 30 today. :cool1: Heatwave!!!! Roll down those car windows and pass the sun oil.
2.gif

Gee wiz have I got cabin fever bad!!!!!

We might get up to 40 something today!!! :cheer2:

Gotta Vent some....
Gosh that makes me mad. I've always said that girls are far meaner than boys. Instead of out and out fighting (not that I'm a fan of violence) they go for the psyche. I think its much more damaging. You couldn't pay me enough $ to go back to Jr. High.
You should be SO proud of DD. What she did took guts and character. She's going to be a strong lady some day and already is an impressive young lady. At my adult age, I don't know if I would have had the forthought or guts to walk into that party. She also looked fantastic!
So glad the other kids were supportive. Its not always that way.
Tell DD she's impressed a lot of people. :cheer2:

You know if someone would have come up to me and said my DD had pulled this I would have kicked her butt over her shoulder!

The BDayGirl is jealous, my DD was asked to join Cotillion and she wasn't even considered. Here Cotillion is invitation only and no amount of $$ can get you in. Her mom is constantly upset by this-I blew it off a year ago but I guess now I can see why they made their decision.
Hale said she stuck it out but would rather not be in the girls company again and that while she will invite all the kids that ride her bus (this girl included) she will try to not be ugly or hold a grude.
Jeez, where can I get some of her compassion??? I guess I want her to be "nice" but we all know that 'nice' will get you stepped upon.

Wow. I'm more impressed w/ every post. And, I'd like to slap some sense into that girls mom.

Thank you Thank you! I've been trying to remember allears.net to recommend to Marie for days. The name completely escaped me! :upsidedow

Darn. I think I just heard BL. So much for a nap and getting something done. Oh well. Just so glad he's doing better.

Bye.:wave2:

LT,
Enjoy your "big boy free" day. That is great that the guys go out together. I always encourage DH to have 'play dates' with the guys. It does wonders for their attitude.
Are they coming back to watch the Superbowl at your house later?
:happytv:
DD just came down and it looks like the kid is sick-sore throat slight temp.:confused3 dang. I know the pollen count is killing me I just hope that is what's wrong with her.
Our weather has been crazy-cold, then warm, cool, then warm that can make anyone sick.

God no!!! I won't let anyone in my house w/ the way it looks right now! :rotfl2: We're actually going to SILs later. They handle SuperBowl each year.
I'm glad they got out too. DH went out w/ his friends the other night (they go to something called "Wing Bowl" every year) and DS kept asking why he couldn't go on the "guys night" and reminding me that he "was a guy too." :lmao: So, DH asked his friends (who all have known DS since birth) if they could go bowling and take DS for a "guys morning" so he wouldn't feel left out. They all agreed. :flower3: DH done good!

Sorry about DD. Hope she feels better soon... Its been quite a winter for everyone health wise, and its barely started!

Morning all:

Here is the bad/sad part of DD's evening...
It seems that the birthday girl didn't tell everyone else to dress up-only DD. DD showed up and was totally mortified that no one else was 'dressed' like she was told- A Total Mean Girl Act-think Legally Blonde-bunny costume evening.
(DD is in 6th grade so fitting is is so important)
I was so proud that at first she didn't want to go in but, she 'bucked up' and walked into the party. I went in with her-at first to just drop off a gift and leave(she still had more control than her momma at this point).
I told the girl's Mom just exactly what her "darling daughter' had done to my DD. The Mom was totally oblivious-she actually said 'Oh well, girls will be girls'. I was so piSSed and we have decided that we all will be better off without this family in our lives.
DD stayed and everyone talked about how great she looked .
The word is, according to the calls I received today,... everyone one, boys too, said what a good sport DD was and what a '*****' the birthday girl was to try to humiliate her.
I hate that this sort of thing happened but so proud of Hale's spirit.

DD looks fabulous...what a great outfit. The girl is bad but it's her mother that need a swift kick in the butt. How could she possibly think that her daughter's behaviour was acceptable?? You definitely don't need friends like that.

Are you talkiing about coming to Texas.
Here today it was 68 degrees and sunny. Lots of people on the golf course. Come on down.:cool1:

Oh sure rub it in...it's sunny here too, a whopping 30*F...you could golf if you could find the course. :rotfl2:

Flametree BBQ is a counter service in AK that does great sandwiches.

Sci Fi had great ambiance...food was OK.

Boma was a great buffet (tried some African foods)

Liked brunch at Chef Mickey's...don't know how the dinner is.

We had noodles at Seasons counter service in Epot which were very good.

Breakfast at Kona in Poly...Tonga Toast is amazing.

Whispering Canyon in Wilderness Lodge was fun for the kids...food was OK.

Earl of Sandwich counter service at Downtown Disney has fabulous sandwiches.

We also had an adult only meal at Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian which was superb...well worth the 2 table credits.

I made my ressie at the 6 month mark because I knew exactly what we wanted but I did see people just walking up...this probably wouldn't work at Le Cellier or places like that, but it is possible in the less popular table service places.

Bopsmom Your poor DD  She sounds very mature. :thumbsup2 I was going to mention the acorn bit but I see you already know it. :rotfl2:

Lighttech I've heard of the Wing bowl. This year a 23 yr old won...ate 203 wings. :faint:

The stand off happened in a town just a couple of miles from us. I always thought there were loonies there. We have a four way stop near us and I never trust anyone heading to or from that town. They are the ones who won't wait their turn. :sad2: The wife was dragged out using a robot grabbing her ankle. She had two pistols, a rifle and body armor. :scared1: Apparently they have had trouble with these people before. More than one sheriff was sent. They started shooting before the cops could give them the notice. I may have misunderstood how long they hadn't paid they may have said a year. Whatever the time, why do people think everything should go the way they want and have temper tantrums if they don't? Oh well I doubt I'll ever figure that out.

Good afternoon ladies. I just picked up my photopass disc from Pikester. I got home and downloaded it into my computer. I can't believe it actually worked. Between the photopass and both of our cameras we got over 500 photos. I can't wait to do a scrapbook for each of the grandsons. I am so proud of myself. I think I will go and have an adult beverage. Anyone want to join me? :drinking:

chat later

I took TONS of pictures at Disney on Ice, and acted like I was 5 the whole time :rotfl2: I will be posting a thread in a bit, and will come back and give you all the link.

Bopsmom ~ Your daughter sounds like a very nice girl, I wish I could find more friends like her. I know how cruel girls can be and hope that good things come her way for her kindness :flower3:

Gotta Vent some....

Just wanted to post about DD
She went to a Guitar Hero party last night.
She went as Judy Nails.
Here are some pictures
This is what she was going for:

Here is her take on it:

:wave2: Hello everyone, hope everyone is having a good super bowl sunday. I had to work my 2nd job today, was a father/daughter dance. It was so funny to watch these men trying to keep up with their little girls! Now I need to do the checkbook-YUCK!

Nice pictures MSP! We had a blast when we went a couple of years ago.

lighttech, glad BL is feeling better. Did you enjoy today's weather? It felt strange to be outside without being bundled up. Too bad we are suppose to get snow again. Enough already!!!

Sukie, isn't photopass great? I think after I added all the borders that I wanted, we ended up with 900 pictures. And that doesn't include the 1000 or so that DD and I took. We like pictures. :rotfl2:

Hi Guys! Miss me? :rotfl:

So I was going back trying to catch up but I came across Bops post about her DD and got so mad I had to stop right there. Why in the heck are kids so mean?

For Hale :flower3: Don't sweat em' sweetie. Like I tell my DD...Never stoop. :flower3:

Bopsmom- Okay, I am going to share something that is extremely petty but I have done it since she was little and it seems to make her feel better too (and most importantly, no one gets hurt):rotfl: Whenever a "friend" of DD's does something really really really mean to her, I find out what that friend would want the most and I go out and buy it for DD in that kids favorite color too! Hey, I said it was petty. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Of course now that DD is 18 it is starting to backfire on me. The other day my DD's ex-boyfriend came over and took the ipod dock he gave her for Christmas (long story lol) and gave it to DD's best friend (nice guy huh?). Well, DD's best friend would not give it back to DD. So what does DD do? Comes home and tells me that her friend likes Accura's and her favorite color is red...ummmm no. :rotfl:

Everyone- I don't think I will be able to catch up. Is there anything I should know? :upsidedow

I really missed chatting with you guys. :grouphug:

Well DANG, if you didn't just do exactly what I was gonna do!

Bopsmom, I am just horrified at DD's story. But she handled it SO well!! What an amazing kid you have there. It's things like this that make me almost glad my DD is in Special Ed and doesn't have to endure garbage like this.

All this talk about Disney food is making me a) hungry and b) longing for Disney!

 Pepper!

:wave2: Thanks for the kind words-
I think it's funny that it took your DD so long to go for a car! :rotfl2: Serioulsy, I am so sorry that she is getting a ration of 'stuff' from a friend and a boyfriend. :sad2:
I really hate to think about what will happen when boys get thrown into the mix.:crazy2:
BTW-My DD would have asked for a pink Vespa Scooter on her first try!:rotfl:
Then I would have had to buy two pink Vespas because, 1) I want one and 2) I have to deal with the b*(chy moms and they are just as bad.

Check back soon and chat.:wave2:
