:sad2: You never know what is going to happen on any given day. At work or not. How very sad that it had to come to that.

So sorry - I didn't know that this was an invitation-only thread:sad1: While Dis'ing, I happened to see that you guys were on post 999 (it says so on the main community board page). So, I just thought that it would be cool to be the 1000th poster (kind of like the 1000th customer at a store). No stalking involved, though.:thumbsup2

Carry on!

No invitation needed and please forgive us if we sounded a little cranky.

It was just a little strange to have someone who hasn't put in the time and commitment into being in this thread (or even the previous two) to step in and take a momentous occasion away from those that have put in the time. Then again, who knows if we would have even noticed! :rotfl:

Have a good one!

Hello again all!! I have been super busy since starting the new job, and am working on getting caught up. Sis got me Disney on Ice tickets for my birthday, so DBF and I will be hitting the road at 7AM tomorrow to get there for the show:moped:

Good evening TKers!

I hope some of you who have been sick are feeling better by now. Seems to be a lot of it going around here too but so far I have missed catching it.

Every time we go to Jiu-Jitsu class I am amazed at the people who go ahead and bring their kids even when they are sick. :sad2:

My sister's princess, be sure to give us a report! I just purchased our tickets yesterday for when Disney on Ice comes to our area in March. I've never seen one of the shows so I am really excited!

I know some of you really don't want to hear it but our weather was nice enough today that I actually got to work outside in my yard. (even though I have plenty that I needed to be doing inside.) I finished cleaning up one flowerbed and it looks so purty! Unfortunately, everywhere I look there is another project that needs my attention. Oh well, I have gotten 2 done so far so that's a start. I trimmed up the lantana bed so I guess I'll see if it was what made me all itchy last time. So far no itchies!

I saw that ya'll were talking about some places to eat at WDW. Do ya'll have any favorite recommendations? I've started compiling notes... just in case. Also, at WDW can you still find somewhere to eat even if you don't have previous reservations or are they practically something that's mandatory?

Sunny w/ temps up to around 30 today. :cool1: Heatwave!!!! Roll down those car windows and pass the sun oil.

Gee wiz have I got cabin fever bad!!!!!

Oh... would I like to be living in your area right about now.

Can I come and visit????

Gotta Vent some....

Just wanted to post about DD
She went to a Guitar Hero party last night.
She went as Judy Nails.
Here are some pictures
This is what she was going for:

Here is her take on it:

Here is the bad/sad part of DD's evening...
It seems that the birthday girl didn't tell everyone else to dress up-only DD. DD showed up and was totally mortified that no one else was 'dressed' like she was told- A Total Mean Girl Act-think Legally Blonde-bunny costume evening.
(DD is in 6th grade so fitting is is so important)
I was so proud that at first she didn't want to go in but, she 'bucked up' and walked into the party. I went in with her-at first to just drop off a gift and leave(she still had more control than her momma at this point).
I told the girl's Mom just exactly what her "darling daughter' had done to my DD. The Mom was totally oblivious-she actually said 'Oh well, girls will be girls'. I was so piSSed and we have decided that we all will be better off without this family in our lives.
DD stayed and everyone talked about how great she looked .
The word is, according to the calls I received today,... everyone one, boys too, said what a good sport DD was and what a '*****' the birthday girl was to try to humiliate her.
I hate that this sort of thing happened but so proud of Hale's spirit.

I would have been so pissed too but more at her mom for thinking that kind of behavior is ok. What is wrong with people? If my daughter would have pulled a stunt like that, she would have gotten a good butt kicking.

Good for your DD for not letting the mean girl "win".

BTW, she looks great!!

She is such a good sport and did the right thing. :thumbsup2 Not letting the b-day girl get the best of her was the best revenge!

Tell Hale that her costume ROCKS by the way.

Bopsmom, I'm seething just reading your post! Tell you DD that I'll send my DS to come kick some butt for her if she wants! He'd be more than happy to. It's so sad that kids can be so mean. Unfortunately as long as you have parents spouting crap like girls will be girls or boys will be boys they will never be any different. It never enters some parents minds that they could actually teach their children to be different and not act like every other moron out there.

I agree, your DD looked really cute! And kudos to her for rising above the birthday girl! Was she supposed to be a friend? I'll bet DD is thinking it might be time for some new ones, huh?

Thank you both.:grouphug: I told DD what ya'll said...:goodvibes

I was pissed at the mom-a person I considered a friend for years but has decided that her DD can do no wrong and that this behavior is ok-I guess the Bi%*h acorn didn't fall far from the tree.
She wants her daughter to be popular at school and thinks being mean is the way to go about it.
Funny since she is asking that we sponser activities for her DD and her family since we have the time, money, pool, conections to do things. They don't and always say ...'well you guys have $$$ you should give more' we always felt guilty and caved but now I see this as another reason to get rid of them.

I think DD rocked and was so happy to indulge her-she called yesterday "Punk your daughter day". I was a punker and so was her late uncle-Grandma says she was so proud and it gave her an 80's flashback to me and my DB.:)

You know if someone would have come up to me and said my DD had pulled this I would have kicked her butt over her shoulder!

The BDayGirl is jealous, my DD was asked to join Cotillion and she wasn't even considered. Here Cotillion is invitation only and no amount of $$ can get you in. Her mom is constantly upset by this-I blew it off a year ago but I guess now I can see why they made their decision.
Hale said she stuck it out but would rather not be in the girls company again and that while she will invite all the kids that ride her bus (this girl included) she will try to not be ugly or hold a grude.
Jeez, where can I get some of her compassion??? I guess I want her to be "nice" but we all know that 'nice' will get you stepped upon.

Oh yeah.... come on down!

If DHs job keeps getting out-sourced (like it has been going) we just may be moving down to your area.
DH & I were talking today. Remembering when we almost built that house in Frisco. We still really miss the opportunity to live there. :guilty:

I'd love to. I am so anxious to get out in the garden and here I have to wait til May.
My biggest problem would be fitting/assimilating in TX. I am the farthest thing from southern as they come. :lmao:

Lately, I've been able to get the clothes clean, but can't seem to ever get them put away. :laundy: The past few weeks w/ everyone being sick, I'm ashamed to admit that I've given up and am just pulling clean clothes straight from the pile to wear instead of being able to get them folded and put away! :scared: Only problem is (aside from the fact that the mess is driving me nuts) those teeny tiny baby socks are impossible to find in a giant pile of laundry! :upsidedow

Are you kidding? LOL! My husband has lived liked that since he went into retail management!!!! I got tired of putting them away for them, and he just won't so.....
