Four-mer TKers...4 one, 4 all, 4 ever

Night Ev!!!! Have a good one.

I think I'm out of here for tonight too. I need to catch up on some sleep. Tomorrow is a busy tv night. Don't want to fall asleep during ER.

Night!!!!

Howdy Doody Tkers! Did everyone have a good April Fool's Day? My DS sent me an e-mail this morning. I should have known something was up because he never e-mails me. Anyway, he was talking about changing his ways and then he Rick-Rolled me! So funny cause I just read about that not too long ago and had wondered if he had ever heard of it but never got around to asking him. He has been having a lot of fun with the day.

The Dis-Gods smiled on me today and moved my thread BACK to the DL forum. Now I can go back to asking questions and not just hoping the thread will die! So... between my now revived thread and my Tker buddies I should be able to solve any question I could ever possibly have about WDW, right? Thanks to everyone for offering their wisdom and support!

Today, I worked my hiney off rearranging DD's room. Not quite finished. I ran out of steam before DH got home so I will have to finish up tomorrow. He was kind enough to bring in pizza when I called and asked. When I said I was so tired he couldn't just say "Yes dear, you have done a lot today". Heck no! He had to make sure to say "Well, I worked hard all day and am tired too". Just for once I would like for him to acknowledge what I did instead of having to try to out do me. Anybody else get this from their DH?

Oh well, I found a way to ease the pain.... I consoled my self with some yummy Cadbury eggs! I thought of you, Magikitty. Have you had your share yet? Let's hope Easter is over soon because I'm gonna easily gain 20lbs! Honestly, I went to the store this week and bought food to get back on my diet. Then those yummy little eggs jumped out at me! What's a girl to do? How could I pass em up when they only come out once a year? Gosh, I have no will power!

MagiKitty, I don't think you are being a bad aunt by skipping a few of the extras. I imagine the girls will have a fantastic time without you having to add things that end up costing a lot that they don't even know about. I think you are great for having volunteered to take them and I bet they are too.
It sounds like even though you have the timeshare it still works to your advantage even though your don't use it. Not a bad plan! I'd rather have 2 weeks too! Frugal is good. I like frugal! I used to do coupons but it really can be time consuming. Good to see someone who makes the coupons work for her. Looks like D&DDisney was able to help you save a few more dollars on your trip! And how cool that BF decided he'd like to extend your stay! And all this time you were thinking he wasn't excited with you!
I am with you. I think as much as I enjoy the parks just being able to not worry about cooking and cleaning is what really makes going on vacation the best part! We used to go camping in a motor home but I was so glad when we started going to Disney! Camping was so much work but a trip to Disney is my kind of vacation!
Brothers and relatives in general can be so incredibly.... stupid sometimes. The only family I even have is a sister and it is so much easier to like complete strangers than your own siblings sometimes!
I don't watch much tv so I wasn't exactly sure who your David Cook was but I have been seeing him all over the place lately. I have to agree that he is mighty fine. Does he just look good or does he really sound good too?

D&DDisney, Yeah! Another cheap, clean, and safe vote!

Pikester, If I can figure out how to work in all my dining ADRs and touring plan surely I can work in a meet up with Pikester moment!

LivinInTheCastle, WOW! That is one MEAN ulcer!
Kids at home does give you someone else to talk to but unfortunately it still doesn't mean you have someone listening. I get a lot more response out of talking to myself!
So sorry you have to work with such a woman. I've been a stay at home mom for almost 20 years now but I remember working with women was the worst! Women in the work place can be so caddy! Maybe we can wish some curses upon her so SHE will get fired!

racetrack18kb, Oh boy. I know what you mean about stressing when DHs are home more than they are supposed to be. Mine dreams of retiring early while I am thinking NOOOOOOOO! Thanks to the economy I don't think I will have to worry about it anytime soon. I hope your DH's job starts picking up soon.

whgrn, I wish you could pass along some of your exercise motivation to me! I'm okay when I get started but good grief it is hard to find the time!

BKMETV, Good one! I love it! I've got both! One that I married AND one that I gave birth to!

:wave2:DL55, pepperw23, lighttech

Well, looks like everyone has called it a night. I'm off too.

Morning all:

Busy day today, have to finish up the school newletter, catch up on housework, do some computer stuff for work and more importantly pack...the mom's are head to MI tomorrow for a shopping weekend...thought we'd boost the U.S. economy for you :rotfl:

I'll stop by later to see what's happening.

Good morning!!! It's looking to be a beautiful day here. It's already almost 50* and they are saying maybe 65* by this afternoon. A little cloudy yet but at least it's not raining.

marie, I get that quite often from DH. I'm a SAHM and he sometimes thinks that I don't do anything all day but watch tv and eat. He really does think it's so easy sometimes. Heaven forbid if he comes home and the house is a mess. But then, those seldom days come and I need to be out of the house all day and he has to take care of everything while I'm gone. After that, all I hear is "I don't know how you do it" and "I'd rather work everyday than be here" Then he's the most wonderful husband helping out until the cycle starts all over again.

Yay that they moved your thread back. Never should have been moved in the first place IMO. And just to add my two cents on the whole offsite/onsite thing, if we were going to WDW this year, we wouldn't be staying on site. With the size of our family, it's just not worth it anymore. There is not enough space for us even though we do get 2 rooms. We drove a little bit on our last trip there and we didn't find it too hard to find what we were looking for. We did find the toll booth workers to be very helpful while we were heading somewhere and were not sure. So don't hesitate to ask one of them.

Well, DH's job was a little better so far this week. His boss has really been trying to find him something to do. For 2 days, he had DH working around the shop just doing odds and ends stuff to get some hours. I am thankful for that. Things are not where we want to be but things could be a lot worse.

Magikitty, I kept forgetting to answer your question about M&N. I think she should be back today or tomorrow. I believe she said 15 days and that would be today.

Good Morning,

Glad I missed April Fools on the Dis. Busy working my last few weeks at school. :teacher::sad1:
Forgot about that virus. Anyone affected by that?

Racetrack - Hope things pick up for DH. Are you still considering moving to FL this fall? Is there more work for him there? My friend just moved to SC last summer so her DH could get more construction work. Business isn't booming there, but at least he is working - as opposed to here.
At my DH's company they just told him to move more work to India. The dept is bare bones as is and now they have to move more and somehow train these people virtually because they can't get visas to come back into the country. :sad2: Go figure. And this is good for the USA how?????

LITC - Glad to hear it was just an alcer - like that's any better as far as pain goes. Hope things clear up for you soon.

Ev - Thanks for boosting the US economy!

D&D, sorry things are going so crappy at your DH's job too. I just don't understand why things aren't done to try discourage companies from outsourcing jobs to other countries. I know I'm not too smart when it comes to those kind of things but it doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe someone could explain it?

DH works in commercial roofing but he also knows residential. His current company wants to expand to Florida so that's a good thing. They are all up for him to move down there too. His brother also has his own handyman type of business and the last time we talked to him, he was overrun with jobs. So that's always a prospect for DH too. Not that working for family is always a good thing but he'll have something else to fall back on.

Thanks for shopping USA, Ev!!

Racetrack and D&D, sorry about your DHs and work. It just stinks!

MK, I think you are doing just fine for your nieces. What they don't know won't tempt them!:rotfl:

LITC, poor you! An ulcer is no fun. Hope it heals fast.

Nice day here, about 66 degrees! Spring is finally poking its head out! Of course, it's going to be 50 and rainy again tomorrow...

Nothing like a case of food poisoning to clear out the ol intestinal tract. But I did lose 3 lbs. Whgrn now your ticker is just bragging. ;) Our modem died, I thought I'd never get back on but found an old one that is working for the moment. :wizard:
I guess I've been lucky..never had co-worker problems. Maybe lab workers just aren't drama queens. (Not referring to TKers but their co-workers.)
LivinIntheCastle At least an ulcer is easier and cheaper to treat. Hope you're feeling better.

Hey guys! Just a quick hello! busy getting my Dad ready for his trip to the Phils. He's leaving tomorrow night and will be away for two months---that's a lot of preparing!

Did everyone see my husband David Cook last night? I don't like what he's doing with his hair...but it looks like he's lost a lot of it in the year since he won AI. He's still delicious though.

Last ER on tonight!

My dog stole my salad. Have to look for different dinner digs tonight.

Have a good evening everyone!

Oh DL55...So sorry you had to get FP. What did you get it from? Do you know?
Well, at least you're happy w/ the weight loss.
Hope you're better.

I agree...he's still a hot little number. :lovestruc And I like his new song. (I'll stop coveting my neighbor's/cyber neighbor's husband now.)
Did you just die when he responded back to those audience girls with "I love you more"? :cloud9: I so thought of you Kitty!

Good evening ladies.

racetrack18kb, at least your DH acknowledges you every now and then during one of his "cycles". The only way I seem to get acknowledged is when I haven't gotten something done. :confused3 I really do probably manage my time poorly but..... DH comes in for lunch EVERYDAY which means I am supposed to drop whatever I am doing. I do school with the kids in the afternoon which leaves me only a few hours in the mornings to get things done. DH, and most everyone we know, seems to think, like your DH, that I have all the free time I could possibly want. Generally, my free time is doing something that NEEDS to be done not doing something I would like to do. Still, I am very grateful to be a SAHM. I do not know how others work and raise their kids. They must be better organized than I am and much better at delegating duties. I am in AWE!

It doesn't take too many people to be too large a family to fit in one room. If you don't mind me asking, just how many are in your family? I was surprised when I started looking that Disney did not have more suite options. Our family is only four people but we will probably have some temporary additions to our family while we are in Florida. We have also gotten very used to having plenty of room to spread out at the end of a long day.
Thanks for the tip on the toll booth workers. Are there toll roads everywhere you go in Florida?

Howdy to everyone else! :wave2:

Oh yeah....
Here's my WDW question for the day...
I was reading threads on TGM this morning. One lady was talking about making her ADRs this morning and she was on the phone with Disney for 1-1/2 hours. Is that typically how hard it is to make a few reservations? When you actually get through are the chances of you getting the places and times you want slim and none?

Marie:

I had no problems making my ADRs...called right on 7 am (it was the 180 days thing) following in the TGM tips. Made it through straight away, got what I wanted and was finished in 15 minutes...that was 10 ressies.

Gotta go watch ER...there's a retrospective on right now...2 hour finale is on at 9.

The last two times we have gone I have had a totally different experience. The first time I had no clue what I was doing till about a month before we left(I found the DIS in August and our trip was in Dec and it took me awhile to read everything:laughing:). I was trying to include DH in on the planning so I never even made my ADRs until a week before we left!:scared1: (I did make two early, Hoop-Dee-Doo and Garden Grill)Actually, DH made the ADRs because I was so frustrated that the ones I wanted were not available when I called. I kept telling DH that everything I was reading said we should be making our ADRs way in advance but he didn't believe me. I made him do it once I became upset with not getting what I wanted. So he made a list for each day of restaurants we would like to try and would book what was available. We did alot of 1PM lunches that year. I think DH was on the phone with a CM 30 minutes.

Last year I called on the 180th day and got everything I wanted. I made a list of where I wanted to eat my TB for each day based on the Best Park Day #s on the Touring Plans website but I made sure to have atleast one alternate restaurant just in case I couldn't get what I wanted. There was one day that I wanted LeCellier but I switched to a different day because nothing was available on that day and we ended up with a late lunch (2:10PM). We had Park Hopper so we could be flexible if I needed to be but we never did end up using it. I think it took me 20 minutes or so to make my ressies once I was talking to a CM. I don't remember waiting that long to be connect with a CM either.

Now that ressies can't be made till 90 days before I'm not sure what it will be like but in my previous experience it wasn't that hard or long.

You probably don't care but here is a list of restaurants we have eaten at on our last 2 trips incase you need an opinion.

Table Service:
Sci-Fi
Liberty Tree Tavern
Ohana Character Breakfast
LeCellier
Whispering Canyon
Spirit of Aloha
Hoop-Dee-Doo
Crystal Palace
Hollywood and Vine
Garden Grill
1900 Park Fare

Counter Service:
Everything Pop
Casey's Corner
Columbia Harbour House
Yakitori House
ABC Commissary
Backlot Express
Flatbread Grill(Studio Catering)
Pizzafari
Wolfgang Puck Express

Plus all the assorted snack stands and such.

Dang did we eat alot!

Evening!!!!

marie, yeah, sometimes DH is really great bot other times :furious: He just needs to be reminded every now and then that being home with the kids all day isn't as easy as it seems. I used to word part time up until my oldest daughter was 5. It was only at night but it was just so stressful. I talk about going back to work once all the kids are in school but I don't know if I could even do that. I like being home when the kids get here.

Anyways, there are 6 of us and the kids are 16, 13, 7, & 5. We've been lucky and have always gotten connecting rooms at Disney. But Disney rooms are pretty small. My bedroom is only a tad bit smaller than their rooms. I don't think we could do it anymore. And when we went last time, I did look at pretty many rental houses down there. Many were well worth the money they were asking.

There aren't a lot of tolls (had to pull out my passporter to look at the map). But I also found that the road signs were pretty clear for us. Maybe it's because DH spends a significant amount of his work day driving to different places. If you decide to print your own maps, I find AAA or yahoo maps to be better than mapquest. Mapquest has been wrong a few times for us.

When I called in 2006 to make Adr's, I was on and off in 10 minutes or so. Just call the first day that you can at 7am. Have your list ready and everything will go quickly.

Oh, and I have use TGM for every vacation. Very overwhelming but almost priceless. I followed his tour plans for last Thanksgiving and it worked perfectly. Follow his best days and you won't go wrong.

Hey EV! Wish I lived in MI, I'd come meet you!!

D&D That is the same thing that happened at the last company I worked at. We went from over a thousand people to 70, and I hear they are still minimizing. Don't know why companies can't keep jobs in US, really angers me.

Wendy-Way to go on the weight loss. I don't really have a ton to lose or anything, but I am so unmotivated!

DL55-Yuck, haven't had that in awhile, knock wood. Hope you are feeling better.

Kitty &Ev--I cried through the whole first hour of ER, don't know how I am going to get through the finale. Better get back to tv, wanted to check in though.
