We have never been on a cruise before. If you were going, would you spend four days at sea and three on land, or three days at sea and four on land? Or would you spend seven days at sea? As you can see we need lots of advice.
If you can afford it, then 7 days is better. (14 are wonderful!)
You will find that it takes at least 24 hours to find your way around the ship, and will soon learn that there is way too much to do on board on a short trip! Also, the weather is ALWAYS warm in the Caribbean! Save those $'s - and LOSE those lbs!!! Nat
If I had to choose between the 3 or 4 day cruise I would pick the 4 for sure. We took the 4 and even that was to short for us! We ended up going down to Disney a week early and stayed for 10 days at Disney and then 4 on the cruise. If I had known then what I know now I would have done 7 aat Disney and 7 on the cruise!
One deciding factor for me would be that food is not included on the WDW part of the trip....sooo.....if you had 3 days at WDW and 4 on the ship you would have all meals taken care of for 4 days.
If you did 4 days at WDW and 3 on the ship you would have to pay for 4 days worth of meals at WDW. WDW can be very expensive and depending on how many people in your party could easily be over $200.00 for food for one day at Disney.
I think it is a better value to do the 3 on land, 4 on sea!!!
My first time that I went cruising I had the choice of the land/sea option or the 7 day cruise. I chose 3 days at WDW and 4 days on DCL and wished that I would have picked the 7 days on DCL. If you can I would do the 7 days, you will never regret it.
You could always add an extra day onto the land portion of your trip and do four and four, the best of both worlds. Keep in mind that extra day can be pricey because you will be required to purchase ultimate park hopper passes for it.
Never did a 7-day yet, but I imagine it's wonderful. If you definitely want to do the parks (& I always do), then...
If it's a 3 vs. 4 toss up - I'd do the 3-days land FIRST & 4-days sea after, definitely. $$-wise & relaxation vs. exhaustion from all the walking, lines, park-hopping, etc., I think that works best.
dclwdwlover- I think that would be the best too except 1 thing- the 4 day departs Sunday and gets back Thurs so your vacation would be Wednesday to Thursday. That kind of stinks.
Totally agree. Either do the 4 days at sea, or go for the whole week.
Our 1st cruise was just 3 days & it was way way too short. There is so much to do, that I felt like I was always missing something, so I never got a chance to relax.
Granted on the 7 day cruise you are still always missing something fun, but it is by far the best vacation ever!
