Four Brits hit the world the TR! ***Finished***

HDDR, huh? We have something similar here in CA called Wild Bills dinner and show. Well, we did until it went out of business. :scratchin: I'm not sure it's up my alley, but sounds like you guys had a great time! :goodvibes

I'm with V on the shortcake. I grew up with the biscuity thing sliced in half and then loaded with strawberries and cream. Yummy! :teeth:

Oh, and I know David said this was the best thing SO FAR. Just wait until he meets us! :lmao:

Sorry to say, we've never done Hoop Dee Doo... and probably never will. I'm really glad that you all had a good time! :goodvibes It's great that the girls got to see HSM2 in WDW! :thumbsup2 I'm also glad that you got some quiet time to relax outside on the hammocks, under the stars... ahhh.... :cloud9:

Keep it coming! :goodvibes

Jo,
The girls look like they had a great time at HDDR. Those types of things embarrass my boys, so I don't imagine I'll get there until DH and I go solo....someday.

Sounds like you were given sponge cake or angel food cake with your dessert. They have that here. It looks kind of yucky. I am used to the biscuit, too, although I bet it's great with shortbread. Do you have a hard time eating here? I know it sounds like an odd question, but do our foods differ that much?

I'm glad your night was a success.

Joining the party :yay:

BTW it’s not a good idea to wear flip flops here :scared:

Well you can’t believe the scene we saw, this mum started shouting at her kid, dragged her off threatening her with everything under the sun. They returned and only about a few minutes later it happened again but with smacking too  but this time we didn’t see them return, not sure if they ever went into the show, whatever my kids had done I wouldn’t waste 2 TS credits each :rotfl:

When I see that kind of thing it just takes away from the 'Disney Magic" :guilty:

I wouldn't have wasted my TS credits either :headache:

When we got there salad and corn bread were waiting for us, not too sure about the corn bread :rotfl:

We thought the cornbread would be like bread :confused3 and it was more like cake. Didn't mind the taste but it seemed we were getting dessert before the dinner

I was so worried David wouldn’t enjoy HDDR but I needn’t have as he said it was the best thing so far :goodvibes

HDD is a big hit with my gang!

Looks like you all had a good time as well :)

Attention! Blue is giving away parts of her TR!! :rolleyes1

Great update Jo!! (and funny titles, DM!)

My thoughts....since everyone was waiting and you dealt with many Southern things!

- is "earnt" really a word? "
"We earnt a livin' by shucking corn" Ok, guess it works!

-horse tails--my girls like to braid them but the official books say to leave them alone as they are used as fly swatters!

-horse shoes--yes, I like to watch the farrier too! But we just took their shoes off for fall--it's better for the hoofs to go natural! And did you know that you have to trim goat hoofs too??

-cornbread--staple at my Grandma's house at every meal. Cooked in cast iron skillet. Usually sweet, although we have been using Splenda to cut down the calories!

-Strawberry Shortcake--same as we have here, but now I really want to try the British kind.
(and I agree with DM that Key lime pie reigns supreme!):thumbsup2

-Beverage--did you drink tea??

-HDDR--good review of this. We have never tried it cause it sounds so much like Dollywood (they have a Dixie Stampede where you have to declare if you are for the North or South before you get to eat).:thumbsup2

Enough with the cornbread. Has anyone had any corn fritters? Now they are to die for...well, at least drool over!

Oh I like them too.......I'm really hungry now! (and I don't want to share your Ramen noodles!)
Apple fritters are good too!

I want an order of corn fritters and a slice of Key lime pie, please!

:rotfl2: I'm sure in a few years your kids would love HDDR

Thanks Michelle, the girls did enjoy it but, wait for it, I want to try a posh 2 credit restaurant next year :faint: :rotfl2: Any advice? The girls aren't fancy eaters!

Jo Ilove cornbread !! Make my own in a caste iron skillet. How's that for southern cooking!!!:surfweb:

Well once we get past the chips/crisps/fries stuff your food is very similar, we don't get cornbread here though! Or Milk Duds  :rotfl2:

Sorry TE couldn't multiquote all your questions :rotfl2:

I loved the Hoop de Doo Review review;) I hadn't seen a report where someone has done this. It looked like fun, especially banging on the washboards.

My girls were also among the millions watching HSM2. They  Josh.

:offtopic: Just a friendly reminder from your friend, the moderator wannabe....:flower3:

Technically, since Jo played golf whilst on her "trip" then that opens all golf-related discussions thereafter.

And, since she ate cornbread at HDDR, that certainly justified a detailed discussion of the merits of that side dish along with appropriate substitutions should Disney decide to change the menu!

And since she discussed the blacksmith shoeing a horse at FW, that led to related comments about all horses and hoofed (?) animals, which of course leads us back to goats!

(see I'm ALWAYS on-topic!):rotfl2:
