Found this great article o keep Amazon Prime cheap !

Can someone please tell me how to get rid of the auto renew ?

I looked all over amazon prime for that and can't find it.

What I do see is the " end membership " and that ends it right then
and there even though I have till Dec.

Help please , I just can't find the box to uncheck it for do not auto renew.

Thanks

I couldn't find either..so I just changed my credit card to one that will expire at time of renewal so that it won't renew.

Go to the Prime account, then edit the payment info.
Remove the auto renew then gift yourself for a future date!

In the past this worked for me: Log into Amazon. Click on the Your Account tab under your name in the upper right hand side. Scroll page down to Setting and click on Manage Your Prime Membership. There was an option to not auto renew, usually in smaller print on the left hand size.

I am not currently a prime member so the Mange Your Prime Membership only takes me to a signup page now. When I have done Prime trials in the past, that is how I turned off auto renew. I would do it as soon as I activated a free trial subscription.

Ok I wanted to do this, too. But when I go to the Manage Your Prime Membership area, there is no longer a place where I can turn off Auto Renew.

Has anyone else worked through this and gifted themselves a $79 year today? Please tell me how.

Thanks!

Ok, I did it! When you get to your account information, you click End Membership.

Then it offers you the choice of 1) continue membership 2) be reminded or 3) End Membership.

Click on this End Membership button and the next screen asks: End Membership Now, or End when your current membership expires.

Click End current membership expires and it gives you the exact date yours will expire.

Thus canceling Auto Renew.

Then, go and order a gift subscription to be send to you on that day.

Thanks these were perfect directions!!!

I don't use amazon enough but if I did I like the gifting idea and being able to pick a date to start. Truly brilliant.

Now some free international shipping and I would be signing up.

Another option for some is the Student Amazon account. It will get you Prime for $49 a year. You must have a valid student email address. Or if you want just the shipping without the streaming service I believe it is FREE.

One more way to save money on Prime is be sure to report it when your Prime shipment arrives past the due date. Prime shipment is guaranteed and they will add another month to your membership renewal date. DH has done this 3 times over the past year. One just the other day. Especially since the price increase, he wasn't going to just let it slide.

I will tell you, they don't make it easy. There is no giant button that says LATE PRIME SHIPMENT. You have to search and read the directions. But worth it. After all, that's what they promised.

Do you have to pay the $79 subscription fee now, or when the gift starts?

Don't do this if you have ANY credit card on file with Amazon.

Per Prime membership terms:

"If we cannot charge your preferred payment method, we will try to charge another payment method you have on record with us so that your benefits are not interrupted."

Trixiezzz posted step by step instructions on getting auto renew removed though :thumbsup2.
