Found the Perfect Disney Shoe

I got my flip flops yesterday and wow, they are nice and cushiony, but I don't know if I can wear them all day at the parks because I think the thing between my toes will start to bother me. I think I'll wear my crocs and bring them to change off if my feet start to get tired. I'm also scared of losing them on the rides.

Now the question is to bake or not to bake. They are nice and high and cushiony now. If I bake them, will they get all flat because they mold to my foot?

i would wear rainbows or these sandals WAY before I would wear my Crocs to Disney. I have the Disney beach crocs and they are really not all that comfortable. My feet feel less hot in the sandals of course, and if you are going in the heat, I suggest them over Crocs.

Ok I just got busted, DH saw me getting the CC out of his wallet and he said what are you ordering online now? And I said a new pair of flip-flops, and he just shook his head. LOL

I ordered a size 11 in plum/lime, and I normally wear a 10 or 11 depending on the shoe. I hope these fit!

Silly girl, memorize the card number! That's what I did! Haha!!

I just saw them at amazon.com for 19.98 plus shipping (free ship over 50 bucks) and the amazon marketplace for 21.10 plus shipping.

:D

Definitely bake. They only get better. The arches stay the same.:cool1:

I have tendonitis, and I think these shoes sound really good!! mountaingear has a few sizes/color for 19.98 and 29.98 and shipping is $5 ........http://www.mountaingear.com/pages/product/product.asp/imanf/Montrail/idesc/Molokini+-+Women's/Store/MG/item/203375/N/661 Im considering getting the plum/lime for 29.98!
zappos will pricematch 110% if its the same size/color (too bad they dont have the plum/lime in stock!) Thanks for the reccomendation, OP!

mommytomy3: Thanks for the Mountaingear tip. I just ordered a pair for me for a grand total of $24.93. Can't wait to get them.

OK...don't need to hear that people are spending half of what I did.:lmao:

I have a pair that I have been wearing for a few months now. I love them. WAY better than crocs. I did not bake mine. The sales people at Fleet Feet in Huntsville al said that the natural warmth of your feet will have them mold by themselves. It did work.
Husband surprised me with a trip to see the Mouse last week. Thank the Lord that I had my Monts with me. I just love them. They are much sturdier than Crocs, and they have plenty of traction .
I highly suggest them.

My Molokinis came in today. Unfortunately, they didn't fit. Darn. They felt great, but my feet were just a little too wide and thick, so I couldn't slide my foot in fully. DD, aka Imelda Markos' soulmate, immediately absconded with them. They're a bit big on her, but it looks like they'll work out fine.

For anyone who had wider feet, there is a Men's version called the Molokai. I just ordered a pair from Mountain Gear for $33 plus $5 shipping. Hopefully these will work out.

They look like great shoes, I can't wait to wear them.

Always ;-)

Anyone ever used Earth shoes with negative heel?

I get Earths cause they make vegetarian shoes too, and I like the negative heel. I hope it helps at WDW.

I do a lot of backpacking, trekking and trail running. I've found that my 5.10 access trail runners with a pair smartwool light hikers (they are mostly merino wool) work best at disney. Sounds like it would be hot, but the shoes breath well and the merino sock have good compression which kills friction thereby preventing blisters. Also, the wool wicks sweat, which prevents blisters. If you use shoes instead of flop or sandal, you don't have to worry about sunburned feet, lotion, etc. You also don't have to worry about people stepping on your feet. And, if you have big feet like me, that's pretty often. Also, you get good arch support and lateral support for long days on hard surfaces. I've used this coupling everywhere from trail runs, to Disney, to multi-days in the Grand Canyon, etc.

Ok...so I read the posts on this thread, then just about all the reviews for these sandals at Zappos. Next, I did a search for them on Google to see if there was anywhere else that had them for cheaper and two places, one mentioned here, had my size for $19.98 + 5 for shipping in the light blue. SO I ORDERED A PAIR!!!! I got into the Crocs revolution on here and DH, My bro, and I now swear by Crocs. However, I like the old Payless version better and have worn mine out. I have a green pair of Crocs DH bought me for my b-dy last year (Tinkerbell green, cuz she is my fav!) and they are a bit too big which makes walking long distances not so fun. So I decided, what the heck, I have just under two months to break them in for another WDW trip. Thanks, everyone!!!!

Okay, I'll have to give them a try too! The most comfortable shoes I've worn so far were crocs, BUT I have high arches and I get blisters on the top of my feet with them--I can't win! If there actually is a shoe that I can do theme park walking in without blisters or shin pain I'll rejoice! Here's to hope! :goodvibes

By the way, I couldn't find any good deals online today. I paid 49.95 with free shipping (and return if necessary) at Onlineshoes.com. There were only very limited sizes and colors at Amazon.com for the 19.99 or 29.99 price. Most were 49.99. :sad1:

I find the thong in between the toes to be a bit rough against my skin after a 20 min. walk. Doesn't sound like any of you find that ? I'll try to break them in and see if it gets better. But that's just my first impression. Also arch feels high too, maybe it's better after baking which I haven't done.

Ok, I wore these outside for the first time today, and I gotta agree with Funfun about the thong thing between my toes. The base of the shoe was like walking on air, the the arch was perfect for me, but I have red marks between my toes from the ribbon and it was really starting to hurt. No way could I wear these all day at Disney. I'd love the shoe if it wasn't for between my toes hurting. Anyone have any ideas on a way to get it not to hurt?

I didn't have a problem with the Montrail toe thingy, but have had with the toe post on the Crocs, Reef Gingers, and Havaianas. What I did that helped was wrap the toe post with a piece of mole skin. Maybe try that.:confused3

If you are not a frequent flip flop wearer you DO have to get used to having something between your toes. That being said, flips with the cloth toe post instead of the rounded plastic toe posts, are going to be a lot kinder to your feet. (Teva mush, Reef Sandy, Reef Slap, Yellowbox...all those have cloth toe posts...there are lots more I'm sure!) If you really like the montrail flip flop for everything else, start wearing it for short periods of time every day. Get your toes used to a flip flop. A previous poster suggested wrapping mole skin around the toe post...that may help, but the thicker you make the post the more friction you will have.

I just hate spending a lot of money on a shoe I can't wear into the ground! I hope you can get some wear out of them!! They really are fabulous to your feet in the Disney arena!!! Good luck!:thumbsup2

Just got my new Teva Tera-Fi 2's from Sierra Trading Post..right out of the box they are comfy!! I have been a Teva fan for 10 years now, and I am just as happy with this first pair as I was with my first. I can't wait to wear them in September!

It might look weird, but how about sewing a soft piece of cloth around the ribbon or wearing a bandaid.
I'm questioning if I can wear these all day too. It's a shame the designer of this shoe didn't make the shoe with cloth thongs, because the sole and arch design is really good. I'll be taking bandaids just in case. And for some rides at universal you have to take off flip flops or sit on them, just another consideration.

I agree about the shoes - I have two pairs myself. I found that they are sometimes cheaper at Mountain Gear. The offer a few sizes in older colors at a discount. I got 2 pairs for $20 each.

It's funny because I have the Croc Athens knockoffs and the plastic post doesn't bother between my toes, but the ribbon does.:confused3 I guess my feet are weird. It's bad enough that they grew to size 11 after I had my kids, do they have to be weird too? :lmao:

I'm going to wear them around the house to see if maybe the area between my toes can get used to them because like I said, I like everything else about them.

Ok, now I have 3 pairs of shoes to take to Disney- my Disney Crocs, the flip flops if I can get used to them, and a new pair of Reebok walking shoes that I got on clearance at Sears yesterday, in a bigger size than I normally take so my feet won't hurt. If you see a lady wearing clown shoes, that would be me. :rotfl:
