Cleaning out the garage (hooray) and I come across a box of old desk supplies that got misplaced when we moved a long time ago. Among the few still useful items, I found my wife's and my old non-expiring MYW Disney tickets we thought we lost forever.

Each of us has two old tickets - one from 2002 and once from 2006. Each was non-expiring. We believe the 2002 tickets still have a water park admission left on them, and the 2006 tickets were 7-day park hoppers that might still have as many as 5 days on them.

(Can you say: adults-only trip next year? I knew you could.)

Is there any way I can actually check to see what's left on the tickets, or have them added to our MDE accounts from home? Or do we have to go to guest relations in the parks? We're already going down for free dining in November this year with the kids, so we can do it while we're there, but honestly, the sooner I get them on MDE, the safer I'll feel.

I found almost the same exact thing 2 days ago. I sent the pictures of the tickets and my license in to the email address and hopefully will soon find out if we have any "free " days for our upcoming October trip!

Just be careful if you plan to use more than one ticket during the same stay.

It could end up costing you a lot of extra money.

Robo, what do you mean? I heard back from Disney and my one ticket had 8 park hopper days left on it. I'm assuming my DH's ticket from the same trip will be the same when I send it in. How will it cost me money?

I mean to say be careful if you plan to use more than one ticket PER PERSON during the same stay.

How many days in the park will this upcoming trip be?

This trip will only be 4 or 5 days, so I should have 3 or 4 left, right?

Yes.

That'll work just fine.
Have fun!

I didn't want to be use, say, 2 days of old tickets -and- buy 2-3 NEW days, to complete the trip.
THAT would be a very costly use of your old tickets.

Something to keep in mind for future trips.

Each of those ticket days is worth $70-$105 depending how you use it. You could buy new, multi-day tickets for less than that.

Well, that's not worded exactly right, but you've roughly got the general idea.

You can't buy a multi-day WDW park ticket for less than (or anywhere near, actually) $105.
(But, I'm sure that what you are meaning to say is that if you used EACH of those days, singly, on a string of one-day trips, the high value of each individual day would add up to much more than buying a multi-day ticket.)

But, what really needs to be said is... do not use any days on these "old" non-expiring tickets
ALONG WITH a new multi-day ticket during the same trip.

THAT'S where lots of money can get lost, in a hurry!

On an upcoming trip, we are using last day on old non-expiry tickets and have bought a 5 day hopper for the new trip. I'm not sure we will be in park 6 days total, so I am going to ask that they prioritize the NEW tickets first on our MagicBands and old ones last when we get down there to a customer service desk. Is there something else that I'm missing or unaware of?

Actually, if you decide to stay that extra day, just upgrade your 5-day ticket.
That will cost just $10.65 including tax.

And, SAVE your very valuable (over $100, per ticket) Non-Expiring day for another shorter trip.
You would be throwing away over $90, per ticket, just to "use up" that older ticket.

THAT is why I said it can be very costly to use more than one ticket on a multi-day trip.

Now I understand. No worries - if we go in October and use the 4 or 5, I think I can parlay the remaining 3 or 4 into a quick trip to the World after our Disney Cruise in 2017! (We WERE planning on just cruisin....:rolleyes1)

I have 6 -1 day tickets and we will be taking a cruise(Carnival) in January, also planning to use them as an after cruise mini-trip for the 2 of us.

Thank YOU! I did not know about the upgrade possibility. That certainly saves money!

Sorry silly question but back in 2000 if you stayed at Disney World were the tickets only non-expiring if you purchased them that way? I have my old tickets on my keys to the world and I know we had more days that we ended up not using and I have no idea if we purchased non-expiring or expiring at the time.
