I happened to find our old 6 day PHs we saved from our very first trip back in 2012. It was a promotional ticket which was discounted and had to be used before end of March of that year. The adult 6 Day PH was $236.

Of course that was also when our Canadian dollar was on par with the U.S. so we did not have to pay anything additional for exchange.

Fast forward to 2016 and the 5 day PH is $315 and with our current exchange rate that takes you up to around $440. Not quite double but wow! Fortunately we did buy them through a TA here in Canadian dollars but still paid $414 for them.

We could have bought a Deluxe AP for far less back in 2012. Of course in comparison the annual passes have increased a lot more than the park hoppers!

The only thing cheaper today than it was back then is the cost of airfare!

Anyway, we are still going regardless but it's funny when you find this old stuff!

We went for the "first" time (my first time as an adult, having to finance the plan) in 2012 as well.

A few weeks ago, I was curious as to what my first Dis-posts were on here... And as I was reading, I found the price of our hotel that week. Ready? $44/night. :faint: Now, I :jumping1: when I find it less than $125!

I can't remember what we paid for our tickets, but they were Associated Recreation Management tickets, which were the cheapest I could find. And then we added days on for $5/day.

Like you pointed out, airfare seems to be a bit less. I think I paid about $175/pp each way PDX/SNA on SW. To be fair, I was scared to look at Jet Blue as I wasn't familiar with LGB. Now, I throw a fit if I pay more than $99/pp each way, lol!

I remember in 2003/2004 when premium APs were $230-ish and single park tickets were $34 (no park hoppers then)

My totally awesome mother-in-law (they do exist!!!) used to buy the premium passes for my husband and me every Christmas. (We moved from California quite some time ago and can't justify a pass nowadays.) I remember being shocked at how expensive they were and how amazed I was that she would do such a nice thing for us poor newlyweds. With this last price increase, I sent her text thanking her again, and we had a laugh about the perspective of "if I knew then what I know now." It's sure is crazy how inexpensive that $230.00 seems now.

Not sure how this is a "community" topic since it was about ticket prices but oh well...
