Oh my gosh!! Look at you go!! I live about an hour out of Rochester in a small village of Newark. So I would really like to find someone closer so they won't charge me as much (travel time). But if it comes to it and I can't find someone, I will call Rochester.

My DH came home for lunch and he agrees with the rest of us that you should pay to open the safe!! I recently heard that Berkshire Hathaway shares once worth about $5 a share are not worth 130,000 a share!!! Maybe there is an old stock like that in there!!!!!

If you could get a hold of a camera with fiber-optic capability/type of lens, it looks like you could snake it down inside that drill-hole and then see inside the safe. You might not be able to see much, but perhaps you could see drawers for documents or be able to tell if the safe is a gun-safe or not.

OP, about 3 years ago we had to clean out my grandparents old house, I was convinced that we would find all kinds of super valuable stuff in there since my grandfather had lived in the house since he was 3 years old. The only stuff we found was old cancelled checks (from like the 1930's and 1940's) and the hospital bill from when my dad was born!

Well I spoke to Steve and he doesn't work on safes. And the other number is not in service at this time with no further information.
