Found Disney Blueprints in my attic...

My husband and I were cleaning out our attic and found some Disneyland blueprints. They are originals, not reproductions. Each page is stamped "Disney Document Control Nov 1991". They are of the retrofitting of the Rivers of America. They are in poor condition. I was just wondering if I should bother keeping them, or if they might be worth something. I would appreciate any advice or help. Thanks!

Yes, keep them - do NOT throw them away. Maybe you could contact Dave Smith, the Disney Archivist and see if they're interested in a donation? I'm not sure who you would contact for an appraisal, your items sound absolutely unique. An eBay search or Google?...

Heck, you live in Orange County. There are bound to be a ton of expert Disney appraisers out there.

Before you hand over those blueprints I would take them over to a Kinkos to have them made into back up copies. That way it can be possibly confirmed without too much handling of the original(s). Dave Smith would be a great start. I'm sure some one on the board here has some contact info for Dave Smith, the Disney Archivist. Another road to explore would be an Auction house that specializes in Disney items.

There were undoubtedly dozens of sets of blueprints made for this job, as each contractor would have had multiple sets. They wouldn't have any 'historical' value, especially in poor condition, but might sell for something on eBay if they are well-photographed. It's not like they are for the original construction of Disneyland in 1955 - For most people, the 'Rivers of America' is not an emotional-attachment type of feature. Good luck!
