FOUND A WEBSITE FOR 36" tubes for SAB!

:wizard: you can bring your own tubes, if you are concerned, bring a sharpie and write your last name on them

that would be great if they blow them up!

Ordered my 3pk of 42" tubes today! Less than $20 w/shipping... that is COOL... Thanks for the info!
Now I hope they get delivered before I leave!!!

I realize that everyone is thrilled about getting tubes and bringing their own and not paying Disney for rent, but frankly the pool is going to get out of hand! I know that I'm not going to be popular with this opinion but at least by having people use only the ones that can be rented, the hotel keeps control of how many tubes are in use at one time in SAB. When everyone starts bringing their own the amount of tubes can and will become overwhelming. There are times when certain areas of the pool can become crowded just with bodies and the tubes that were already in there, I can't imagine adding even more, one of these days we won't be able to actually swim!

In our case, it won't be more tubes in the pool. Like most people we are bringing our own instead of renting. If we didn't bring our own, we would rent. So the number of tubes will not be greater. I suppose if they were out of tubes and people brought their own, then the total number would increase. I imagine that is not the case for most people -- like me they are probably bringing their own rather than renting.

But, there are plenty of people who are stating that they don't rent because they don't like the price and they're now bringing their own tubes, so that does add to the number. And plenty of people who in the past maybe rented just for their children or shared and now are bringing 4 tubes per family into the pool. There have been times when we've been there and people were waiting for tubes as all the tubes had been rented so by people bringing their own, it does at times add to the amount in the pool.
SAB has in the past, when the pool is crowded and most of their tubes are rented, not allowed people to bring in their own, I have seen it more than once and other posters like Ducklite have also stated this. They do this because there are more tubes in the pool than they want at that particular time. At some point if Disney sees that more and more people are bringing their own rather than renting, they figure they're lose profits and at some point make it that only rental tubes are allowed, it seems to be their way!

I'm sure you are right. If we get there and are unable to use our tubes, I won't be mad, I'll just accept it. In our case, we can also use the tubes at CC, so it is a no-brainer to bring them.

I keep reading posts where people regret not having tubes, balls, etc., so I decided it was better to be prepared...

You'd be surprised at some of the people that I have seen get mad!

The tubes will be great to have a CC. We've always rented when there and 2 out of the 4 times people have taken our tubes and mats while we were either at lunch or in the bathroom! We place them on our chairs with our bags and stuff and people still walk away with them!

I don't think 26 or so people responding to this thread is really representative of a "whole lotta tubes" being in the pool. Though I understand your concern, not all of these people will be in the pool at the same time I really doubt it will be a problem. If it is the resort will simply institute a "no personal flotation devices rule"

I hope no one is deterred from bringing their own tubes either.

Yes, SAB is an awesome pool, but the lazy river is a small loop compared to the rest of the pool, and it is 8 feet deep or more in most sections. That said, it is rarely crowded, as most parents don't feel comfortable with their little ones in such deep water.

When it is crowded (holiday weekends) the lifeguards will do what's best in the interest of safety, as always. Whether it be restricting personal tubes or all tubes or making every one get out because the pool had been soiled. Believe me, they are not shy at SAB and I was there when they took HEAT for closing the pool for 2 days (Sat and Sun) on LABOR DAY WEEKEND! You talk about some hopping mad guests! Safety is ALWAYS first!

There are other areas where the tubes are allowed, but those areas have alot more kids in them (because the lazy river is so deep) so relaxing on a tube is not all that relaxing for adults, and kids will have so much other stuff at SAB that they may only use the tube 15 min. out of an hour.

That said, Tubes are nice to have and the limited usage warrants bringing your own, instead of spending $20 a day on what will most likely be used for all of 30 min.

SAB is all over the tube situation, and we have never had a problem bringing our own, and they have never required us to have clear ones and never questioned the ones we bring.

honesty the great magjorty of WDW goes are NOT LIKE US on the Dis that plan out every possibility and dream about what we are doing in advance. Or preprare and think ahead. Most forget umbrellas, sand toys, rain covers, sweat shirts, bathing suits. All kinds of stuff and Disney counts un them buying or "renting" as the case in. And for the most part they will and us strange birds that think and dream and plan ahead are not going to make a major impact in anyway what so ever.

You have to admit, we just aren't typical.
