I am sure this has been asked before. I did read over the sticky but still did not understand. Thanks a bunch.

What do I do after I have found the picture I want to use? I have saved it to my files.

We leave in 18 days. It is a surprise for DS (5).
This is going to be a first... plane ride and first Disney trip for our family.

I want to do matching shirts for our first plane ride to Disney. I also wanted to do something for DH and I for MNSSHP. DS (5) will dress-up as a cowboy.

thanks for your hlep.

I will try to make this easy (and painless)...

I assume this is for tshirts:

1) Find the design and save the largest size to you computer (done)

2) purchase shirts and transfers - be sure to use dark transfers if you are using any other color shirt but white or all white area of the design will be clear (or shirt color)

3) prewash shirts - be sure not to use fabric softner or dryer sheets

4) Size designs so they fit correctly on shirts - children shirts will surely not have the same size design as dads XL

5) print design to a regular sheet of paper using draft mode (to conserve ink) - this is to be sure you have the sizing correct before printing to a transfer sheet

6) Print design to transfer sheets - be sure to flip/rotate the design ONLY if using light transfers

7) Let ink dry completely before continuing on to next step.

8) Trim designs as needed removing any white or border you do not want to have on tshirt.

9) Preheat iron and remove ALL water from your iron

10) Iron on transfers following the directions that come in your package - be sure to use a HARD surface, do not use your ironing board

Hopefully this helps - if you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Amy, not to hijack this thread but could you elaborate on #4, please. How do I resize the picture to accomodate the different sizes? Thanks! By the way I did get your transfer paper but haven't done the shirts yet. Very, very quick delivery, thanks so much!

I always get out a small ruler and look at the shirt the design will be going on and then using the ruler, decide how roughly tall or wide I want the design to be.

Then from there, I resize the design on my computer. I resize mine in my Photoshop Elements but you can resize in just about any program. You want to look for resize or resample. Then change the dimensions of the design.

Then print in draft mode to regular paper and place on shirt to see if you are happy with the size.

I hope this helps!
