Old photos in frames!

As we were putting away our Christmas decorations, I was bringing out all the photos to put back on the mantle..there is one in an old metal frame of my Mom and Dad. The frame is broken, so I was going to remove the photo and put it in another newer frame. Behind my Mom and Dad's photo was a photo of my maternal Grandfather in his Marine uniform.

I called my Mother right away...she didn't immediately recall ever seeing the photo, but once I scanned it to her, she remembered it, but hasn't seen it in 30 or more years!

So....if you have any old family photos in old frames...check them! You never know what you'll find!

My grandma was notorious for doing this. When she died there were a tons of frames and pictures that got divided up between all of us. Every single one had one or more pictures behind it... it's kind of nice to see how people had grown.

I learned that trick from my late Grandmother. I found photos behind all her photos I was given. I now do that with DD's school pictures. Every year I just put the new one over the previous year's. I also stash stuff behind photos - nothing like money - but stuff I want to keep somewhere safe so it doesn't get ruined. Happy to hear of your great find!

Yep, here it is!

It would've been taken sometime in the 1940's...maybe my Mom can help me out on that one!
