Let me preface this by saying that I never use the edited. That does make it particularly offensive to me, along with all of the other permutations of that word. I had to run into Stop and Shop very quickly this after noon and as I am walking in, about 4 19 to 21 year olds are leaving, they are rowdy, I don't have a problem with rowdy, and they aren't angry. One is walking ahead and one in the group shouts to the first one, "Hey you edited , wait up". That was it. It totally pushed my buttons and stepped on my last nerve. I was about 10 feet away and I shouted as loudly as I could, "Hey you are in public, do you have to talk like a bunch of DIRT BAGS?" Total silence, which was good, but I was angry enough that if one got in my face, I was ready for that too. Besides, Jude was in the car, he would have unlocked the door and come to my rescue. ;)

I'm glad you said something to them. I don't like to hear foul language ANYWHERE either! :sad2:

My word...young adults being obnoxious in public?! Let me get my smelling salts.

I just pray that my kids don't ever do this. There are four of them, though. It is bound to happen. Especially with that foul-mouthed $%(@!^) father of theirs. ;) :)

It also pushes my buttons. I would hsve said something different.

I honestly couldn´t care less what other people say as long as they´re not talking to me. But then again, I use the edited a lot.

Seems to be a lot more prevalent then when I was a kid, and we were no angels ;) . What gets me are the Middle School age old girls that say that stuff, and a lot worse. They don't seem to be doing it to shock, it just seems that that's they way they normally talk. :confused3

I think we as a society have lost respect for a lot of things, whether it's each other, someone else's property, the environment, etc. I think if people were courteous and respectful of eachother we would be much better off. Some are just too selfish to take the time to think about someone else's feelings even for a split second - those young adults are a perfect example. I curse but I am respectful enough of others (taught that by my mom!) where I am mindful of my surroundings when I let out a f bomb or something of that nature.

When I do have kids, I will teach them those same principles I was raised upon.

OT: Is Jude your dog Dawn? ;)

Good for you. Sometimes people are too scared to speak up in public when someone is yelling at a cashier or swearing in public, etc. I find, however, that if one person speaks up, they often get support from anyone else who is around. Maybe now these kids will think twice before using such language in public again.

I said the first thing that came to my mind in a milli second. What would you have said? Not being critical, just wondering.

He is. They would have sure been embarrassed if I had to have a big white fluffy poodle come and help me. :rotfl2:

:rotfl: You'd be surprised..the smaller, innocent looking dogs are usually the ones that have the most kick to them! My cousin's pit bull is a big ol' baby. ;)

:lmao: Wherever You go, you do bring out the best in people!

I use the edited alot (alot! alot!....my favorite word!) however its not something people should be shouting in public!

If people want to talk like that when they aren't in public, fine, but I don't want to listen to it in public. We were in line for a ride at WDW and three young teen girls were cussing a lot. We were hoping we wouldn't be on the ride with them. Luckily, we weren't. If we had been put on the same ride (river raft ride) I would have asked for another boat. We had our youngest DS with us at the time.

Gee thanks. ;) I was really minding my own business until that moment.
