Out trip will be Aug 3-9, usually split between Disney and Universal. Haven't booked a room yet at Universal, all that is left is expensive-so thinking of driving from Disney fo Univ. Do you buy FOTL tix at the gate? Is the $35 on top of the regular day pass? Should I just book a room anyway and "grin and bear it"? It will be our last trip for quite a while. Thanks!

You can book your express plus in advance. You need to book it at least one day in advance. Most concierge desks at offsite hotels are able to do this now. I book it for my guests all the time and they always come back and thank me because they were able to save so much time.

There are also free express passes that work much like Disney's Fast Pass. The problem is, during busy times, they can run out by the afternoon.

We were just there the middle of June. Before we left, the price on the website was showing $35, but it was only $20 at the gate. I was sure glad that I waited. And, yes, that is in addition to the regular gate price.

We found them to be very beneficial for us. My husband detests standing in lines, so it made for a more pleasant trip for all of us. When we were there, they weren't marking the passes at US (except for ET and T2). They did mark them at IOA the next day though.

20.00 is a good rate, but if you wait until you get to the gate you take the risk of them selling out, esp. in the summer.

So anybody can just buy the FOTL ticket at Universal Orlando? Will this be available sometime in October or November of '05 or is it a summer-only thing?

Express plus is always available to whoever is willing to buy it before it sells out for the day. The price varies throughout the year, but I think the highest it ever goes is 35.00 for each park. Sometimes they sell a combo ticket that is good for both parks but not during the busiest times of the year.

Also, the $35.00 is per person/per park/per day and officially only nets you 1 express pass per ride. Depending on how many people you have in your party, it might still be more economical to reserve a room at RPR for the night. And that way you get unlimited FOTL for your family for 2 full days.

We usually go that same week and it is still pretty crowded. Regular queues can get up to an hour or two for some of the most popular rides. FOTL would definitely help whether you do it via Express Pass Plus or FOTL room card.

The price right now is $40 plus tax for express plus for one park.

Wow, I sold some last week for 35.00! When did it go up?

They went up on Saturday, July 2. They'll probably stay at $40 through the month of July.

Wow, thanks for telling me! I will have to share this with everyone else in my company so that we won't get charged back the extra 5.00 for them. I can't believe I didn't hear about this yet!

For two weeks before Thanksgiving week (WDW's Jersey Week), is it going to be crowded there? (to the point that $40 Express is worth the extra money?)

$40 seems to be a lot considering the entrace fee is only $55 (or is it higher now?)

I seriously doubt they will be $40 two weeks before Thanksgiving. The price is based on anticipated attendance. Since it isn't busy then, the express pass plus will go down in price. it is unlikely that you will even need them in November except for the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving.

The one day/2 park admission is $69.95 plus tax.

Do you think you will be charged back the extra $5? It you bought them earlier wouldn't that lock in the price for y'all. I know one year at HHN, the express for a certain night was one price and then suddenly jumped up in price. Those that had already purchased the express for the lower price, could still use them.

But yes, the price is $40 right now. I know that for a fact. Yesterday they sold out by noon. Today, they hadn't sold out at all.

No, I have to actually call Universal and book it for my guests, because sometimes it is not available for that day. Then I charge them. I guess my company gets billed or something for it by Universal.

Oh...then it looks like you would be charged back. That's strange they didn't let you know.
