What it the FTOL pass?

The FOTL pass is the most wonderful thing ever invented in theme park world! If you stay at one of the Universal hotels, you can show your room key at an attraction in US or IOA and GO TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE. You enter a separate line and pass everyone else. It is so worth staying at a Universal hotel just for that feature, especially if you are going during a busy time of year. We just got back from the HRH (which we absolutely loved) and never waited more than 5 minutes for any ride. You can also show your key at most Citywalk restaurants and they will lessen the wait time by one-half. Quite a perk!

If you don't stay at an on site hotel, you can get an express pass from the machines. It works like FastPass at Disney.

Is the FOTL pass free when you stay at the resort?

Yes. If you are staying on-site at Universal -- Portofino Bay, Hard Rock Hotel or Royal Pacific, you will show your room key for FOTL access. It is a FABULOUS perk. The hotels are great AND you get to go to the FOTL.

I will NEVER, EVER go to UNV/IOA w/o staying on property!! We were there Memorial Day weekend and our longest wait for anything was 10 mins for dueling dragons!! Hulk was a 90 min wait and we got on in LESS than 5 mins!! As soon as we walked up there we got on the NEXT coaster! Same with Spidy, Back to the future and MIB, Jimmy Neutron, etc, etc. After 8 days of fighting crowds, getting up at the break of dawn for early entry and managing fastpasses at WDW we felt totally spoiled by FOTL!! Felt so relaxed just kinda strolling through the park not on any schedule just choosing to ride things as we felt like it! The properties are pricey, but we got a good deal for HRH with the entertainment book. So worth the price!!
